I am so glad that fall of the year is almost here and I believe that I enjoy this season more than any of the others.. I like Summer, love Spring, Enjoy Winter, but I absolutely Adore Fall of the year.. I love the colors, the smells, the sight, and sounds of Fall.. The leaves changing colors, raking leaves, the sounds of football games, the get togethers for the footbal games, the cooler nights and comfortable days, the colors of Fall, I love all of it.. What does everyone else think of Autumn and all of it's glory, do you like it, love it, or just another season to you.. What do you like most about it?? If not Autumn, what is your favorite season and why?? Have a great Fall day..

I love fall but we seldom have very many "fall" days here in the south. We don't even get the gorgeous changing colors of leaves here like up north. I really love to go to the Great Smokey Mountains in November to get the feel of fall!

That has to be one of my favorite vacation spots! We stayed at a small campground in Sevierville on our last vacation there. It was nice and the owner was very friendly. When he found out we were from Louisiana, he asked if we had an extra pound of Community Coffee!

We go to the mountains all of the time, I am from Tennessee and we are not far from them.. As a matter of fact we are going to a small church in Sevierville and when we can go early enough, we have time to check out everything before getting to church.. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are decorated so nice for the fall but so much better during the Christmas season, I love to go then..

Fall is definitely my favorite season. I love the chill in the air (I like to call it "sweatshirt weather"). I love the leaves changing colors and falling. I enjoy Halloween. Football is one of my favorite sports and I enjoy going to games with my husband and friends. We got married in the fall because it's my husband's favorite season, too. I would take 12 months of fall if I could.

I agree with you about the 12 month of fall, almost, I would have to take a month off for some winter snow to go along with Christmas.. Next to fall, the Christmas season, not winter, just Christmas, is my second favorite time of the year..

I do like fall. I like the weather getting cooler. The cooler it gets, the more I go walking. My dog knows when summer rolls around he is not going to get walked as much. It isn't so much the heat of summer, but the humidity Oklahoma gets. So when it gets cooler outside both my dog and me are very happy about it. I also enjoy football season. Norman, Oklahoma is where I live and this is a huge college football town. Not only that but I enjoy NFL games. And everyone is in such a festive mood. I really love everything about it.

It does seem a more festive time of the year.. We have Fall itself, then Halloween, the Thanksgiving and Christmas before it gets really cold.. I just enjoy everything about it.. Have a great day and thanks

Hi Donna, I definitely love autumn! I'm an October child so
maybe that has something to do with it. I too love to see
the leaves changing colors, the way the air smells so crisp.
It's time for pumpkins, apples, ghosts and goblins and
turkey! And of course football! It's just such an
exhilerating time of year! If only it didn't lead
into winter...

I agree with you 100%, the foods, the colors and the holidays, they are great.. I don't like the approacing Winter either, it would be nice to have a double Fall and no Winter.. Thanks for the response and have a great day..

I hadn't even thought about the cooking but when it is cooler, everyone does usually cook more.. You enjoy a good home cooked meal more during the cooler season that you do in the hot summers.. Everyone in my house likes to live on sandwiches during the summer and all of the good hot meals are saved for when it is cooler.. Great thought..

For me it would be fall. The reason why is autumn has the high pollen and bugs and insects start to run wild where I live.
However in the fall, all the leaves are starting to drop from the trees. It's not quite extremely cold temperatures outside yet, so the atmosphere is perfect (usually between 55-65 degrees). The sun doesn't heat up as much, just provides light during the day time.
Plus the grass doesn't need to be cut as much, as it prepares to go dormant for the winter time. Plus it the start of cuddling up to the fireplace with your loved one.
AH YES, the world is alright in the fall season!

You picked two of the best reasons for loving Fall.. I love the part of no mowing and more time for cuddling.. It makes it all worth it, doesn't it?? Thanks for the response and have a great day..

Hi DonnaLawson,
I too love the fall. Here in Canada (I live in Ontario), we have our Thanksgiving in October, so that's a wonderful time of the year. I also have a huge maple tree on the front lawn, and the changing colours are spectacular. A drive in the country is a great way to see all of the autumn splendor here. And then there's the amazing smells, as you've mentioned, of bonfires, seasonal foods like pumpkin pie, squash, apple crisp, etc., etc. Such a beautiful time, and a welcome relief from the hot sticky weather, although I believe that each of the four season's have their merit.

Our Thanksgiving used to be the same as your's, but it's been around the second week of October, for as long as I can remember (and that's a lot of Thanksgivings). The reason for the change, is that with our harsh weather 'up here,' when we waited for November, we weren't able to enjoy the harvest, with all of the fresh grown foods the same. By November we've usually been experiencing much cooler temperatures, frost, etc. Our actual Thanksgiving is celebrated on a Monday though. We do have the same Halloween as you, falling on October 31st each year. Have a great day.

I had never thought of that as far as the weather goes, I imagine it would be almost too cold to enjoy the harvest and the holiday.. Thanks for letting me know and have a great day..

I also believe each of the four seasons have merit and should be enjoyed as each day should be enjoyed, but.... Fall has a different feel to it, it just seems to have the best of everything and can be enjoyed for the weather as much as for the activities going on at that time of the year.. The foods that are served and eaten in fall and at Thanksgiving are so good and make you feel as if they are all good for you also.. I bet it is beautiful in Canada, but I didn't know that your Thanksgiving was in October, that is our Halloween.. I am glad to learn that fact.. Have a wonderful evening..

Hi DonnaLawson! I only know two seasons here in my country, which is rainy and summer season. But when I went to England a few years ago, I have experienced the four seasons for the first time. I love the four seasons since I am really excited to have experienced all and I am not used to having such. However, i could say that my favorite is Autumn and Spring. I just love the colors of both season and the smell each of the two seasons have.
Take care and have a great day!

Autumn and Spring are both wonderful and I love the colors of both.. I just love the vibrant colors of Autumn better.. I do enjoy seeing all of the pastels that Spring brings and the warmth and coolness at the same time, but there is something about Autumn, something that I have left over from my youth, that make me love it so much more.. Thanks so much for the response..

Hi DonnaLawson, I agree that Fall is a beautiful time of year with so much colour, but I don't enjoy it as I once did. You see I no longer enjoy winter as we are prone to big snowfalls and storms, and Fall to me is a reminder that Winter is near. My favourite season is Spring with new life all around us. Blessings.

I enjoy Fall but I don't enjoy the part where it is a reminder that Winter is on its way.. I do not like Winter, I am not able to be out in the weather that much and as much as I like to stay at home some, I don't like to be unable to get out and go as much as I do in the warmer months.. My husband and I no longer work on regular jobs but we do try and do flea markets since we have never been stay at home people, and Winter is to cold to be out in the early morning hours when it is 35 degrees and not going to get that much warmer during the days just to get out of the house and make a bit of extra income.. So, I don't like the part where winter is on its way, but I can't help but love the rest of this gorgeous colorful season.. Spring is a period of rebirth and everything is becoming new again, but it too is a reminder that soon the days will be too hot to be out in the weather.. We can't have everything our way, if we could, then I would pick a perfect Fall day and keep it that way forever and ever.. Thanks so much for the response and have a wonderful day.

I dont think I have heard Fall described so well that is my favorite time of the year as well and for all the reasons that you have said,I could do without the heat of summer,I also love the spring when everything is coming back to life,I could do without winter all together. You have a great night.

bfarrier, thanks for the response.. I think that if you could get past the upcoming Winter months, Fall would be entirely perfect.. I love everything about Fall of the year and esperiencing it in Tennessee is great.. We have the mountains all around us and when the trees turn to every shade of gold, orange, yellow and brown it is breathtaking.. I also love the perfect coolness of the weather here.. I don't, however like the fact that a long cold Winter is in the works right after Fall, I can do without the Winter myself.. Thanks for the response and have a great day..

Not a season I like, I hate the fact that there is a chill in the air of a morning now, and I have to have the heating on. I hate it that the leaves change colour and will fall off leaving all the trees and hedges bare and dull. And as we have had a poor summer it is more depressing than usual as we have had no nice hot weather.

We have had so much hot weather that the brisk morning air is invigorating.. I don't like to see the leaves falling because that means that we have to rake but I do love to see the leaves changing colors.. We have a gorgeous Maple tree in our front yard and it is so beautiful with every shade of Autumn imaginable.. But again, way too many leaves to rake..

It is fantastic weather to be outdoors in .. It is great for weiner roasts, hiking, working in the yard, or any other activity that you can imagine.. I can't wait to start decorating the yard.. I believe the best photos are the ones with the brilliant colors in the background or the trees by themselves.

It will take time to adjust if your country is warm most of the time, but you can and you might be able to enjoy the seasons changing like they do here.. It takes a bit of time, but Fall of the year is so Beautiful and the weather is almost perfect, not too hot or too cold, just perfect.. The colors are great also, all of the trees cahnging to so many different shades of browns, gold, oranges, maroons and every color in between, they are gorgeous.. Give it time, you will enjoy it after awhile.. Thanks for the response, have a great day, Donna

I don't like the scorching heat at all.. We normally have such a hot summer and when Fall comes, the weather turns beautiful.. The air seems clearer and just a bit on the cool side, no cold, but just right.. Fall is the perfect time of the year if you can get past the fact that it is going to be turning cold soon.. I wish you could experience a Fall season in Tennessee, it is glorious.. Thanks for the response and have a great day..

I have yet to actually live in a country that has four seasons clearly following each other! Egypt has summer then winter, India has a pretty constant all year round temperature with a rainy season and so did the Philippines; and where I lived in Australia pretty much had a summer and a winter only also. I am expecting to be living in the USA within the next few months or so, so I guess this will be my first experience of the four seasons! All I do know is that I can't stand the cold so winter will definitely not be my favourite. Spring sounds more like something I would enjoy!

Where in the USA will you be living?? Some states do have more hot or cold months than we do here in Tennessee, we have some of the best weather in all of the USA as far as changing weather.. We have an old saying in TN, that if "You don't like the weather, stick around, it will change".. Some states do have more warm weather, such as California, Florida and Arizona, while others have longer, colder winters, like New York, Boston, Chicago, Michigan and Minnesota.. I love our Tennessee weather as we do have a few months of Spring, then a few of Summer, then we go to Autumn, then Winter and then we start over again.. It does get very hot in the summer and very cold in the Winter, but it doesn't last very long before the seasons change again.. I do enjoy Spring as everything is bursting out new and everything comes alive again, but I think of Spring as "Pastel" and I think of Fall as "Vibrant", the colors of everything are so much different in these two seasons.. Wherever you do decide to settle when you get to the states, make sure that you check out Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN during the Autumn season, you will never forget the beauty of it all.. Fall is one of the best tourist months in Gatlinburg, due to the colors of the season.. Winter months there are nice also, as they go overboard with the Christmas decorating and they leave the deocration up until February for everyone to enjoy and occasionally you can get a glimpse of the snow covered mountain tops.. It is beautiful..

Hello DonnaLawson,
We only have two seasons in our place. It is called the dry and wet season. I also like the Fall season which is partly equal to our wet/dry season combination which falls on the month of September to December. It is not that hot and not that wet and the weather is very pleasant at this time of the year here in our place to. There are lot of holidays coming and it is a good time to visit and see relatives. It is almost the end of the year too. We don't have falling leaves and no live football, but you can watch it on cable. But the best part are the holidays coming in. Have a great Fall day too.
Regards.

There's no fall nor winter here. You are so lucky because you experienced it there. I really want to experience how it is to be with the snow. Now that you're telling me about the fall there, it made me dream again that someday I would experience what you have experienced there.

I can just about guarantee that you would love it.. Although there are a few problems with the Fall season, like the tons of leaves in my yard that I am going to have to rake up before decorating for Christmas.. I can't decorate outside with all of the reds, yellows, blues and greens which are the traditional Christmas colors when my yard is a sea of Orange leaves.. I do believe you would enjoy the changes of seasons that we are blessed with here in Tennessee.. Have a great evening and thanks for responding, Donna
