Hard time getting motivated

I am 5'9 and weigh 235 pds. I am miserable with all this weight. I am having such a terrible time getting up to get motivated to exercise. My boyfriend is always trying to get me up and moving and so are my kids. I work 48-50 hours a week and stay worn out. I am a waitress so I am constantly on the move at work. Is there anyone out there that can offer some advice on how to get up and get this weight off me. I am taking Apipex but by the time I get home from work it has worn off. I want to be 150 or so by next summer!

Maybe I can give you some advice. In order to get up and not be so tired: 1.You need go to bed earlier. Do watch TV or play game fewer. 2.Everyday, wash 5 red Chinese dates and soak them in warm water, then eat them. In order to lose weight: 1.Eat soup before you eat food.Because after you eat soup, maybe you are not hungry, then you'll eat less. 2.Flap your liver for 5 minutes before your breadfast?lunch?supper and so on. These are good habits for losing weight and be health.

Especially, the point 2 "flap your liver 5 minutes before you eat food" is the best way to lose weight.Notice this!

How do you "flap your liver"? I've never heard of this. Oh, and I agree with the soup idea. It fills you up. Also drinking a full glass of water with meals fills you up too so you eat less.

If you really want to loose weight then you have to make time for exercise. I also think that maybe you should see your doctor and get a physical. I know that I have asthma and some of my medication makes me gain weight. I understand that there are diet pills that actual work but need to be prescribed by a doctor. I wish you all the luck in the world. I know how hard it is to loose weight and it can get depressing but if it is something you really want you will do it. Remember to get a physical and check with you doctor about your options before you do something that may harm your body in the long run.

I lost most of my weight through walking 3-4 days a week for an hour. Because I have fibromyalgia I had to build up to that slowly but it certainly helped me lose weight. Then I developed hypoglycemia and was told to eat 6 small snacks a day (healthy ones) and not 3 full meals a day. I dropped another 10 pounds just by switching to that diet. I don't eat completely healthy. I still like my sweets. But definitely NOT overeating is a big thing. And drink lots of water. I heard green tea works too. I have lost 40 pounds altogether and love how I look and feel. I still have a spare tire I would love to get rid of but I am much happier with myself than I was a couple of years ago. Yeah, how does one flap their liver????

I wish I could help. I'm shorter than you and weigh more than you do. I have been overweight for more than 25 years now. I'm still waiting on the miracle. Please be careful of diet products. They can cause some serious health problems i.e. strokes, migraine, shakes if their is caffeine in it.

The negative calorie soup works - eat as much as you can to lose more! You can get the recipe here http://www.linkgalleries.net/link/df1b31a3 This has been used by hospitals to make their patients that are candidates for surgery to lose weight FAST. I've tried this and it works. There are plenty of variation of this soup, and you can look for them when you've tried it. Remember: eat more, lose more!

Ooooh! you actually took my advice! I've been promoting negative calorie soup since I tested it. I found a link before that included even what to eat for a whole week and it promises a certain number of pounds to lose if you follow it faithfully. I'll look into it as soon as I can then probably post it in my blog for personal reference and give you the link as well ;)

first of all, i want to welcome you into this wonderful community... i have days like that as well sometimes when i feel so tired and don't feel like doing anything at all... to motivate me, i usually do the things that i love to do first before i get up and do something that i don't like... i usually try to surf the net or watch the TV first before i get to the business of exercising... to be honest with you, i also don't like to exercise and i hardly do any exercise as well except walking at my workplace... take care and have a nice day...

My advice is eat smarter not only lesser. Just make sure you eat the proper food, low fat and high fiber would help. It's a good thing you exercise. I hope you get your desired weight by that time.

I believe that losing weight is something that really complicated. You do it in a wrong way you could get the eating disorder and all. I believe that you cannot lose your weight only with exercising, I did it and I failed. You have to control the food intake, not only reduce it, but count the calories, make the meal schedule and meet a nutritionist to see what your body needs. Motivation comes from self. I you find it is hard to get a motivation then there is nothing anyone could do. I try to keep my body in shape not only for people around me, or to impress my partner or something like that. I believe with it I can be more healthy. I wish you luck in your program I hope you can find a motivation that suit yourself.

Uh, your working as a waitress, just by that I think your doing a lot of work out. Hmm maybe it's something else, maybe your eating too much bad food? Really, since waiters move ALOT, and that's a good exercise right there. Anyways, I could recommend you running. Running is good since when your starting to get the adrenaline pumping, you feel tired, but at the same time euphoric. I do it once in a while and I like it because of the sensation. It's not stressful like lifting weights or using the gym machines. Just go out and run, fresh air and look at err.. nature xD! or the city if you live in the city. I also move a lot here in my job. It's kinda similar to being a waiter and even like that, I feel kind of everweight. I always try to do some workout when I have free time. Just remember eat healthy, work out, don't do anything excessive. O yeah and don't try the dangerous stuff like pills and all those craps, those stuff doesn't work and are just scams in my opinion. Good luck and GO! you can do it =D.

i used to be overweight before... but with discipline and all, i've cut down some pounds.. you know, exercise isn't enought to help you lose weight, you should also reduce food intake. Go for high fiber foods(ie. oatmeal, wheat bread, apple, etc). If you really want to slim down then you should instill discipline in yourself...

I so understand where you are coming from. (and from a RN stand point...not really sure what flapping your liver is..but I wouldn't do it??)LOL Anyway, I delivered my son at 232..5'9 so seriously we have walked the same shoes. I am down to 155lb in less than a year. I can give you several tips but if I could guess..you work (on your feet ) all day/night long, you eat standing up..that is if you get to eat...you can't for the life of you figure out why you can't lose weight when you are running around all day and barely eat. You are sooo tired when you get home, you can't even think about taking a walk around the block. Am I close? Well if I am..you probably DONT eat enough (every 3 hrs to pep up your metabolism..yes you have to eat to lose weight..not the other way around) Increase your water...(flush out your kidneys) Increase protein, take supplements, and YES you have to exercise!! Start with a 20 min walk in the morning for 1 week and everyday push yourself 1 block farther. You have to make the effort and that lack of energy you have will decrease. I don't know if you have always had weight issues or if its a new thing but exercise GIVES YOU ENERGY...it will take a week or two but when it does you will notice a difference. Second..you have to include weight lifting/resistance training. The more muscle mass you have, the higher your metabolism burns and hence the increase caloric need to maintain your weight resulting in MORE ENERGY! I didn't realize after being on bedrest and having a baby how tired I would be but I finally said..thats it I was in great shape before I had him...I'm tired of being tired. So I began on the treadmill..and now I can run 3-6 miles a day. NOT kidding and I have always done cardio/weights but never thought I could run. Let me put it this way...you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to. I hope this helps and if you need anything else or a sample of my diet ...just shoot me an email (I'm not a doc though..just a gal that understands) M~

I think the only way to loose weight in a good way is too find spare time to excersise to burn off those extra calories. You should never have a last resort to become bilemic. You have to excersise even if it is small at first. Build yourself up and it should help. Try looking up diets on the internet that involve good food and still manages to make you lose weight. I really hope this helped, good luck on your goal :D bye.
