Hello mother!
I believe you are really worry about your son's condition. Have you ever tried to bring him to the doctor or to the nutritionist? I am afraid that he has something in his metabolism that makes him cannot gain the weight. There are some people with some kind of metabolism system that makes them still thin no matter what they take and no matter how much they ate. If it is getting worse and there is no change in the situation, I think bring him to the doctor or pediatrics would be a good step.
Have you tried some herbal medicine that can raise kid's appetite? I know some that able to make your kid ask for meal 5 times a day and even 2 times for supper. But I think it is a local product

yeah...i did bring him to paediatrics and also he had been referred to a dietitian...the paediatrician gave him a vitamin in syrup form, once a day. i had been giving him that vitamin for about 2 months but yet his weight did not improved. i followed what the dietitian had told me to do, but it seemed that his weight just remained the same...but anyway, i haven't try any local herbal medicines. i think i should give it a try...thanks klaudine for your advise...

I think you have to start to give some herbal medication because I think it would be good because it has less chemical in it. My partner use this herbal med and she has gain 5 kgms in a month. It is said that this is herbal so this should be safe for any age. The only effect that showed from this med was that the appetite has raised drastically. Even my friend tried this med has gained 3 kgms in 2 weeks. Good luck with your son, mother :) Glad that I could help :)

It sounds like he has a high metabolism. Has the Dr., besides referring you, done any testing? There are some disorders that will not allow the body to absorb nutrients so I think it is important to get that done. If that is not the problem, get him foods high in calories, which he will probably love. Below is a list of High Calorie Foods.
Condensed Milk (Sweetened)
Trail Mix (with chocolate chips, nuts, and seeds)
Fast Food - Hamburgers, Sandwiches, Tacos, etc.
Fast Food - French Fries
Dates
Fast Food - Milk Shake
Chicken Pot Pie
Cheese Sauce
Bread Crumbs
Pecan Pie
Ricotta Cheese
Baked Beans with Franks
Potato Salad
Eggnog
Peanut Butter
Nuts, Trail Mix, etc.
Making Him:
a breading for more foods you prepare using bread crumbs
a high calorie smoothie with NESTLÉ CARNATION Instant Nonfat Dry Milk milk, bananas, orange juice, ice cream and some water
Adding:
a packet of NESTLÉ Carnation Instant Breakfast Mix to 1 cup of whole milk (adds 130 calories)
1/3 cup of NESTLÉ Carnation Instant Nonfat Dry Milk to 1 cup of whole milk (adds 80 calories)
cheese to more foods and other 'extras,'like sour cream on baked potatoes, gravy on meats, butter on vegetables, mayonnaise on sandwiches, cream cheese on fruits, etc.
Hope This Helps.
P.S. I got this from http://pediatrics.about.com/od/nutrition/a/0806_high_calre.htm
