Yoga used to be my Calgon escape. Am I aging myself by refering to that advertisement?
I would sneak off to my favorite yoga class for a way to keep life in perspective and get a good sweat. But I have been away from practicing yoga for some time now. I finally returned this week and it is killing me!! I am so sore I can barely move. I am walking like a 98 year old woman.
I am taking advil out of desparation.
Can anyone recommend a natural remedy for soreness and aching?

I agree, cupid.
Part of why I do yoga is to get away from taking unnecessary medicines.

I think that it may be time for you to take another Calgon escape. A good soak in the tub can relax the muscles and help you to relax. Also, don't let this deter you from doing yoga. If you stop stretching those muscles, and then try to go back to yoga, you will have the same experience, because the muscles will tighten up all over again. So soaks in the bathtub and stretching will help those muscles to stop hurting.

My husband brought home Calgon from work today. Lol I didn't even know it was still on the market.
I hear ya on the tight muscles. I'm back to yoga to stay this time. Should have never left.

I find getting the blood flowing is the best thing. Either gentle exercise, like walking or taking a hot bath (using a spa hot tub is even better). Bath salts help as well as gentle exercise that makes you sweat as it releases the lactic acids that cause the burn.
Massage is also good. If nothing else, unless there is swelling, moist, hot compresses on the affected areas. Taking an anti-inflammatory (aspirin, advil), is okay, as long as you don't overdo it.
I ache more than I did when I was young. I am a dance teacher and it takes half the movement to make me ache more later, and stiff, too (thanks to arthritis).
Ah, by the time we know what to do with our bodies, we are too old to do it!! LOL
