Recently,my cousin brought some 7-10 cds'(movies, games) at home to watched it whole day and pass her time nicely in Sunday afternoon. All the cds' were pirated ones and sold at cheaper price, whereas in market it will cost a lot.It made me wonder,is it alright for us to purchase this pirated ones since it is cheap or raise our voice against it.What do you say?

i used to be one of them people that refused to buy music cd's. i could by dvd's and others but not music cd's because i could get them for free but then i tried putting myself in the shoes of those people putting up their albums into cd's and realised that i wouldn't want to be treated in that way. I think they should only let music downloads for samples only. For pirating CD's i think its even a far much worse crime as that is stealing but at a greater scale as well. They are illegal and i think there should be more stricter measures to catch the culprits.

Absolutely! We should stop buying pirated cds' as they are unauthorized duplication of an original recording for commercial gain without the consent of the rights owner. It is illegal and crime.I strongly agree with you

i am consistent in sayingthat i am against piracy wether movies/cds or software esp on movies/cd becoz we are not helping the artists at all..they are not being paid for every pirated sales and if this will push through there will be time that they cant produce any single film becoz they dont have any revenues anymore..

I have a few friends who are musicians and they make the best music but don't do much simply because they can't make a living from it, they all have families and it takes a lot of money and time to put together a good CD, but people just want free music so there is a lot of good music that is just sitting there but the artists can't afford to actually record to CD because no-one will pay the money...the worlds loss i say, I have heard some brilliant stuff...just so sad....

My opinion about pirated CD's or softwares and recordings is that it is against the law. Copyright infringement carries a huge penalty that far outweighs the Idiocracy of pirating software, CD's and or recordings. As an artist, I am totally against those who simply their way with another's worx without going through the proper channels. It is so easy to just copy and share with friends. To me this is slightly less incriminating however, does not make it right. I feel that those who pirate CD's, software, music, videos, movies and other form of digital work for the purpose of profit should be held accountable to the fulest extent of the law.

Well, of course we know that piracy (and supporting it) is a crime. However,I don't blamepeople buying it, really. I, for one, buy pirated movies because I don't get to watch movies in malls anymore. Also it is a lot cheaper and convenient. Sometimes, I also can't blame those who produce them. Why? because they have a market. Of course the pirated versions are of low quality but if the movie is not really nice it content, then it was more worth it to watch it on DVD/ VCD than on the big screen. And in our country, even if the campaign against piracy is really aggressive, there are still hundreds of those who supply and produce them. It will be very hard for the government to truly stop piracy in the country and neighboring countries.

Technically, it's illegal to buy or sell pirated copies. If caught, there are huge fines. Personally, I would report the person who sold them as I don't want to be in trouble if I am caught for buying them. People work hard to do those movies, games and cd's and the profit is their income. I would rather buy second-hand ones of the originals.

somtimes, when i dont get time to watch the movie when it is telecasted in the TV (since very new movies are telecasted now-a-days), i tend to get a pirated one and also, when the film is not worth watching in the theatre, but friends say it is good, i tend to get a pirated one, not myself but i always get it from my friends, i dont personally buy any...and i never watch those movies, which are really very good and much budgeted one at home, at least for the appreciation, i watch them in a theatre
