Most Annoying Drivers

Okay....I have a few rants about fellow drivers on the road that I come in conact with on a daily basis. It is really annoying when someones "rides my tale". My kids get very upset with me when this happens, because I usually tap my brakes 3 or 4 times in a row, then start going unbelievably S-L-O-W just to prove that I can. I know that could probably cause road rage, but people with a license should know the rules about staying back when you're traveling behind someone! If I'm going the speed limit, how much faster do they think I should go??? Rant #2.....Getting behind a gravel truck, and hearing rocks bounce off of my windshield -- even though I am not traveling close behine the truck. Grrrrr! Rant #3.....(THIS WOULD BE MY HUSBAND) Drivers who do NOT use a blinker. Come on people, it's not just another "pretty light" installed on your car! USE IT! Rant #4.....Drivers who fly by me on the interstate, while I am going the max speed, like they are rushing to the emergency room. I sit there and pray that there will be a state trooper or police car right beyond the dangerous curve they just raced to! (not very nice of me, I know :) Thanks for listening to MY rants....now, what are YOURS when it comes to fellow drivers. What makes your blood boil???

Hi there soldierswife68! I have practically the same rants as you do. I really hate it when the driver of the car ahead of me drives so slow when he/she is not following anyone. What makes it more irritating is that when I attempt to overtake, he/she wouldn't let me. Sometimes, on my way back here to our city from a weekend in the province, I get to drive behind a truck. Sometimes, full of gravel. Sometimes, full of chicken dung. It can get annoying when they do not even move to the side so that cars that are following them can overtake. Imagine the agony of following a truck full of chicken dung. I also hate it when the car I am following suddenly hits the break without any signal just to drop off a passenger. There was a time when I almost bumped into a car that doesn't use blinkers. I thought he would go straight then suddenly turned to the right. I almost hit the car's rear! I also get irritated with drivers who cut my way. Geez! I think I can go on and on and on...

soldierswife68 The state I live in it is the law that when it rains the lights have to come on. It's a good one I think. dolce I did hit a car some yeas ago that stopped to turn with out using her turn signal.

Chicken dung???!!!!???? That is soooo funny! You guys really do have some good ones! Oh, I almost forgot one of my biggest rants of ALL....Those people who drive in the rain or worse, the fog, without their headlights on! You can't even see them until they're right up on you. That's like the very first thing I do if it's raining, is turn those headlights on! How can you expect anyone to see you if visibility isn't but a couple of cars in front of you??? I can imagine that those people would be the ones (after they cause a wreck) to say "Gee, I can't imagine why this happened...." Grrrrrrr! I'm sure there will be more as I keep reading posts from all of you!

Yup, if you are driving almost everyday, you will tend to meet some really irritating drivers. For me, it is during the mornings from Mondays - Fridays. It's like one massive carpark, before and after the toll gates that I've to pass. I hate drivers, who would cut into our queues. Some of them, I can tough it out - refuse to let them through; however there are some who drive old or battered cars, and it's like - 'either you let me through or I'll bang your car!' Then there are those really idiotic drivers, who blink right, and turn left. I suppose they are not sure which is left or right or wrong! And morons who use the emergency flashes on rainy days - the radio & TV stations have been advising the public never, never to use these, unless it is an emergency! So by the time I reach the office, I'm a nervous wreck!

Yeah...it's almost like you've already put in your 8 hour day (tattered nerves and all!) by the time you get to your real job ,huh? Enmergency flashers are annoying and they shouldn't be used in the rain -- UNLESS it IS an emergency! Crazy people out there! :)

From my own experience, it was someone talking on her cell phone when she cut me off & stopped in front of a red light, causing me to screech to a full stop behind her. Luckily, in the hot weather, this person had her windows open, & I ended up in the left turn lane next to her. As I pulled up, I turned up the volume of my stereo, & opened my window, & drowned out her conversation with Dio's "Rainbow In The Dark." As for tailgaters, I have this friend who goes through maybe two double-A batteries per two-week period, because he has a Sony Discman wired up to a special cassette to put into the cassette deck of his car stereo, & does a lot of driving around. Instead of throwing them out, he just flings them out of his window when he has someone driving too close to him. I also know someone who used to drive a stick-shift (something I would not recommend because of the probably wear & tear on the clutch). They would stop short, shift into second gear, & then hit the gas.

I live in South Carolina and the drivers here are something else. You check the traffic to make sure you have time to pull out onto the road and there is plenty of time the cars to the right are a long way away but as soon as you get a good start getting on the road they will speed up to see just how fast they can get close to you. Then there are those that do use their turn signal but they are already at the corner they want to turn at and are turning. People here have to take a drivers training class to get their license too. Then there are the ones that will come to a construction and have to get into one lane. They will hurry up to the front of the line and crowd in. I'll bet they have always crowded. Picking your kid up at the high school is taking your life into your hands. Those kids drive like they are on a race track or at a demolition derby. There isn't any one out there to see what is going on ether and it doesn't do any good to report it.

I have not had to drive for some time now so thankfully don;t have to deal with this crap for now! My rant is actually a spin on your third rant..... What used to drive me insane was not people that DIDN'T indicate; it was people that chose to indicate for very long periods of time while sloooooowly crawling along the street because they are not sure when they are supposed to turn! You get stuck behind them just wishing they would hurry up and make up their minds! lol.

We know there is a lot of people on the road driving that should not be able to drive...They should never have been a driver ,they are inconsiderate..Gravel trucks is something we must deal with but we do not have to drive behind them & i try never to get behind one of them...As far as people riding my bumper,i really hate that & i usually slow down real slow so they will pass me up...

i don't drive at the moment... but my hubby is... and the most annoying thing is when people cut his lane suddenly and without using the indicator as well... many times he almost hits the car because of that... it is so stupid and dangerous for the drivers to do that... take care and have a nice day...

I feel your pain!! My big rant is this: I live in Idaho. Lots of farmers around here that were brought driving a tractor and/or the farm truck. But they could be driving ANY size car and it would still take them a half an hour to turn a corner! They pull way out and then slowly turn. I wasn't brought up by Andreddi or anything yet it can turn into the turn, continue and drive right around that corner. What is wrong with these people?!!

There are ruthless drivers who make mess on the road. They never follows the rules and create problem for the other on the road. Under the influence of intoxication, they do not bother if any other vehicle is on the road, either they do not give pass or otherwise create problem. If you want pass they will speed and h arras you. Hell with them.

I understand how you feel about inconsiderate drivers as I feel the same way about them. There are two types of drivers that irritate me most. The first one are those drivers who do not use their blinkers. There are many occasions where I waited at a junction just because I thought they were going to pass by but instead they turned into the junction. Sometimes, I could not control myself and I wound down the window and show those drivers the finger! I know it's bad but sometimes they are just too much. The second driving idiots are those who like to cut queue or use the emergency lane to overtake other cars. These people always contribute to the traffic jams. I wish I could just throw some spikes on their path so that they would learn a good lesson there and then. How can we get rid of those drivers? and thank you for giving me the space to rant... Cheers!
