There has been a noise going on around the disease TB or tuberculosis. This is the second time it has been shown on the local network and this is the second time I will be posting this kind of topic. Now they have a more resistant drug TB strain and now affecting our country. This kind of TB strain is stronger and takes a lot of time to kill the bacteria (mdr TB or medical resistant TB) the medication process of an ordinary TB takes 6 to 9 months while MDR TB needs 18 months to kill the bacteria. But the medicines needed to kill this strain are very strong and they have a lot of complications. They can have nausea, vomiting, depressions. So what are the reasons why there has been a lot of Filipino TB victims? one is that medicines are expensive, another is TB treatment is not widely known by doctors and another is the patient does not know that they need 6 months at least to treat it. They say that the medical resistant TB if not treated will become an Extra resistant TB (which is less likely to be healed) MDRTB treatment is very expensive, it will cost around 250 K They also say that TB is not just a medical disease but also affects the socialization life of a tB patient, they were being abandoned by the family, friends and work. These are the common misconception about TB:TB is inherited when sweat is dried on our back, it can cause TB That TB can be passed on when you use the utensils used by TB patient That smoking can cause Tb (although it is not, but smoking can lead to weaker lungs) I am posting this to help our fellow Filipino and to spread the knowledge about TB

all cases of TB are contageous and it will passed from person to person, from cough, sneezes or even if you are talking to them. thats why i will recommend to all. that if one of your family member have a TB be careful and use musk everytime you to talk to them .they will understand you for using that.sterilize the utencils they are using and seperate them. TB is curable now not like beforeif you follow and understand the treatment. thats why we need an x ray every year specilly those people who smoked.and of course we need cleanliness in our everyday activities, eat fresh fruits and veg too.

Yes it is curable now but people cannot still afford the medicine necessary to take, they need to take in at least 4 antibiotics within 6 months to cure it, and now they have discovered a type of TB, a very resistant one to medicines. I hope more Filipino would be aware of this so as to prevent it from spreading. And yes people who smoke is more prone to TB because they have weaker lungs. Thanks for responding Tita! I hope you have a good time here in mylot.. ( I am saving up here so we can go walmart again and to buy something for you and treat dylan and the rest to Baguio )

many specialist says that using the utensils used my the patient can lead also to have TB. virus from TB patient can't be transfer by using the utensils but the main caused of TV is smoking, air pollutions and some other factors that lead to become one of them.

Smoking is not a cause of Tb but it can weakens your lungs and thus Tb virus will easily thrive on your lungs.

It is great that you are posting this for your fellow Filipino's.. You are doing a great service for them.. TB is dangerous and easily spread, so you have to be extra careful around others.. You would think that in this time when most countries have access to so much knowledge and information that this would not be such a problem.. Take care and keep your family safe..

Oh one of our uncle is suffering from it. I have no news on how is he going right now, but I think the family is sharing for the expenses of his treatment. I do hope he will get well soon. he is a very heavy smoker and a drinker, maybe that is the reason why his immune system weakens. Thanks or sharing to us this kind of information, information dissemination is always the best weapon to prevent things from happening. I do hope that our government could find ways to make the treatments available to all and the medicines cheaper.

its sad to hear another negative news. how can the poor afford this kind of treatment. hopefully filipino will be aware. you're right smoking weakens the lungs but the receiver or the second hand smoker the one that do not smoke have greater chances of getting sickness in the lungs. they are the victims. so sad

I've noticed this a long time when I was still in the Philippines and do some volunteer work in the Health Center and most common reason on why do a lot of Filipino have a TB or Tuberculosis due to lack of resistance and food nutrients and they need each day and most common is that our Country like ours and you cannot blamed those people on why they cannot be with the patient on having a tuberculosis because it is one of the transferable disease so you cannot blame them and once and for all Thank you for the post of discussion at least some of us would be aware on how do we take this kind of sickness and if we have already and what are the best thing we have to do during the medication and once and for all if the person have this kind of sickness the Health Center in the area would give them assitance in everyday medication that they need and the only thing they have to do is to go to the Health Center of their place.......
