I have two cats and they are my little buddies, I treat them like they are my kids!
My husband thinks I am ridiculous but I dont care. One sleeps by me every night without fail and I think it irritates my husband because when the cat leaves to eat or whatever she walks on him and sometimes plops down on his belly or back to sit awhile which usually wakes him up. They also run in front of him when he walks, tripping him. I laugh, but he doesn't! I wish he would lighten up!
Anyway, these cats are part of my family now.I love all animals and I feel bad that some pet owners dont bother with there animals. Are you close to your pets? Thanks for reading and Happy Mylotting!

yer husband should be happy that all they do is walk over him while he sleeps instead of what mine used to do to my ex. theyd attack his face or feet and bite his mouth or toes because they didnt like him anymore than he liked them. and he ouldnt get near me if they were around.. theyd bristle up, growl and hiss. i shouldve listened to my animals.. the guy really was a dirtbag.

That's very funny Tessa. I wouldn't doubt it that these animals know what they are doing! Thanks for responding!

I feel that way about all animals! They deserve to be treated with respect and love just as we humans do! So, yes, my animals are a huge part of my family! It has always been that way for my family growing up, and it is for me and my son now as well. We love our kitties!!!!!!

I agree. Not only pets but all animals are wonderful! Animals are very interesting creatures and don't get as much respect as they deserve from some humans.

That's really great to be so close to him. I am like that with my cats. That's the way I believe it should be. I dont understand some people that get pets and ignore them, not spending anytime at all with them. There is so much more to having a pet than just feeding them and cleaning the litter box/letting them out to go!
They too need love and affection.

Yes, I'm very close to all of my animals. Sometimes I wish I wasn't such an animal lover. I currently have 7 cats and 3 dogs. The problem is my health is declining and now I'm trying to find homes for many of my cats, with no success. I've been told I'll probably have to have some of them put down since I can't find a place for them. Its made me mad at the situation (my own doing I know) and sad because I love them all. Like you, a couple of my cats sleep with me at night. And my dogs sleep on the floor at the foot of my bed. Yep, sometimes I wish I wasn't so attached to my pets. Maybe then it wouldn't hurt so much to have to make these types of decisions.

Hi TessWhite. I'm sorry to hear about your situation.I hope you can find homes for them. I know how hard it can be, especially if they are full grown cats and dogs. It seems somewhat easier to get rid of them if they are babies. But, even then it is very hard. My one cat had 4 babies recently and that makes my cat population go to 6. I also have a 19 month old that keeps me very busy and 3 teens. I cannot keep all these kittens and I have been trying to get good homes for them but I have not found one yet. Good luck with your situation and thanks for your response!

We have a guinea pig at home and we treat it like family too. Although he doesn't sleep in the same bed as ours or eats at the table with us. We just make sure that we feed him well and give him enough attention and petting. Our guinea pig though is bias with people around him because he only chooses to pay attention to certain people in the house. He only pays attention to me if I get near him wearing my jeans because he loves to pull my jeans.

Hello magojordan...It is a very good idea not to let that guinea pig of yours sleep in the bed with you!
Thats amazing that he can tell the difference between people! You can never underestimate ANY animal! Thanks for your response!!

Perhaps that is the reason the male cats are like that.lol. Even in animal life the men are less affectionate! Thanks for your response.

I have always been really attached to my pets and our cat Morgana is more like our kid then a pet. My late dog Petey was my best friend...he was like a son to me. Some ppl look at a pet as just an animal but to me, my pets are so much more.

Hi nandigamharika. I understand that as well. I know some people that don't want pets for many reasons. Some don't need or want the extra responsibilities that come with pets some don't like the smell either. I am a very clean person and I do my best to clean up after my pets 24/7. Plus, I keep them very clean too, no fleas, etc. But even the cleanest homes can still have that "odor" from having pets. And then, some people just don't have the time. It's okay not to want them. What makes me upset are the people that dont want to care for their pet when they already ahev them. Then the pet gets mistreated. It is better for that person to just give the pet to someone that wants the pet. Thank you for your response!!

Oh yeah ! I have a cat too. She is like my sister. She would be with me all along when I move about in the house. And, she knows exactly which way I would be going at what time ! That's amazing ! Like you say , she is a member of the family !

aww. That's really cute. I once had a cat that would follow me around, just like a dog, I would take her for walks. One day she followed me to the store which was about 3-4 blks away. She wouldn't cross the busy road though that was in front of the store but when I came out and crossed the street again, she was waiting! amazing!

What does having a child have to do with not being able to have a pet? When my daughter was born, we had 2 dogs and 3 cats. When she turned a year old, another cat was added to the household thru her finding it and saying it was hers. To this day, she can do anything to her cat and the cat lets her. I just look at her wrong and she gets huffy with me. I guess I'll never understand why some people who claim they love their pets, can get rid of them soon as a baby is born. My one cat was very protective our our daughter when she was a baby. Always slept under or at the foot of her crib. Didn't need a baby monitor with Lightning watching over her while she slept. He would come racing to let us know whenever she needed tending to. Having a pet in the house can be more rewarding than not having one when I child is young.

I grew up around cats and dogs. Now, I am afraid of cats and dogs. My mother told me, if it has teeth it bites. Besides I don't like fleas. I don't like cleaning up behind them. I can't stand the smell of dogs and cats in my house. They urinate every where. Forget it when they shed. I do not like picking up cat and dog do do.I am never going to walk behind them to pick it up.

Our cat is a part of our family, but he is a cat and has some of the annoying habits you described. Because he will not lie quietly at the foot of our bed like our previous cat did, we've had to shut the bedroom door when we go to bed. The problem of getting underfoot when we are walking is a serious problem that may mean that he will have to eventually find another home. My husband is now 80 years old, and I'm less than a decade behind him. I hate to think of what might happen if the cat should make one of us fall.

Ooooh........... Sounds to me like your husband is a little jealous. Try giving him some extra attention so he doesn't feel left out and tell him you love him.
I agree with you, though. I have a furangel myself and she is my little buddy. She's always following me everywhere and she is very spoiled. I give a birthday party for her every year and invite friends. She makes out like a bandit! LOL!
I do treat her like a human child! I love her very much!

I'm veeery close to my 5 year old chihuahua... In fact, my family thinks I'm nuts! jajaja... It's really funny cause I talk to her and ask her things (simple stuff, yes or no answer) and she actually understands me... She knows when I'm sad, she knows when I need something and she means everything to me. I'm too young to have kids right now, but Pulguita (little flea in spanish) its like a child to me. I guess that when I have my own I would treat them the same way I treat her now...

i do not own a pet . but my sister does. for her ... a dog that she owns is just like a family member. she cannot live without that dog and takes a lot of care.
