Cost of phone calls from USA to Spain

Hello to everyone in USA,my elderly aunt in California recently phoned me here in Spain,the call lasted aprox 15mins.when I called her back she told me she had been charged 96 dollars for the call!I don't know which phone company she is using,probably the main one for the area,as she's elderly she would not be likely to shop around and would be put off by anything to complicated to use,but this seems a huge charge for a short call.I can phone her for 2cents (Euro) per minute.Can anyone offer an opinion on this? I told her to take issue with her service provider,it doesn't sound right to me!Also,can anyone suggest a very simple,easy way that she can call me cheaply? We need to keep in touch regularly,she is the only family I have now.
