What so special about Facebook ???

hey guy, what makes Facebook so special ??
why is much more popular than Hi5, Orkut or MySpace.
I am a member of all these sites but I just don't get it why facebook more popular than other sites ????????

Okay,by statistics it might be true, but still Facebook is more popular, it came in the newspaper, news channels and now Discovery Channel is also planning to show a documentary on Facebook and it makers.

For one, it was one of the first sites that allowed developers to put in their own applications for testing, giving their users something to do and developers a way to test their applications to a ready audience.
Layout wise, I find that they look and feel professional. They were also one of the few sites that required you to use your real name (when they first began, this rule no longer applies), so people would know that it really was Jane Smith who wanted to befriend them and not l0nelylady.
I also find their ease of use and the fact that everyone has more or less the same layout means I don't have to burn my eyes out looking at garish and badly-done layouts.
Plus, it simply appeals to me.
