When is it too much?

For the longest time I was a "good girl". I never did anything I wanted to because it would "upset" my mother. Well, I got over that! I was told to be careful because tattoos were addictive for some people. My first tat was on October 13th 2006. What was suppose to be a small tribal butterfly on my wrist turned into a mistake. The artist told me it was as small as he could get it without losing detail. I was so excited about it I just dove in. The butterfly covers my entire wrist.
Then I discovered Tony and he is the one who really got me addicted. He is also the only person I will ever let touch me with a ink gun again! He is amazing! The first time I went to see him I got 2 tats in 2 days, one on each ankle. Then I had to take my husband to see him. The picture provided is of the Bettie Page tat that Tony did on my hubby's leg. I have a full set of butterfly wings on my back, which aren't done yet. I also have a small purple heart on the back of my neck.
So I have to get my wings all colored in and then I want another one. Trying to decide when it's too much of a good thing. So how many tats do you have and when is it too much?

I love your husbands tattoo. It is gorgeous. I love pin ups, they are so beautiful.

I think you are solely the one that decides if you have too much , I am a professional tattoo artist . I think if you think its too much for your body , best to step back and look at what you want and plan a little more. One thing is to keep in mind about your line of work and what profession ,if any, you maybe picking for the future. Like,, will they hire me or not if I have this. Tattoos are a definite way of life, a lifestyle. A tattoo is like buying that new awesome shirt but you don't have to take it off.
That tattoo of the pinup is amazing , you have a very good artist!
Right now I am in the midst of getting my sleeve finished . It is of a mermaid and waves. I am fairly new here and I am stoked to find so much interest in tattoos and body modification.

It's your body and you will be the one living or should I say wearing the designs you have choosen ,You are also at an age where it's time to please you. I'm glad you have found some-one you trust to do your tattoos ,women seem to be going into tattoos in a big way.A friend sent me a photo of a lady in her seventies and she was tattooed all over even her you know what with a chain coming from there this is I think a bit too much but again it's her body. Have you seen L.A.ink ,living works of art. My son nighteen is getting himself done and has quite a few already ,I just wish he would get a few plesant ones instead of the horror ones he seems to have a taste for.I had read some-where you need to leave some skin bare so it can breath ,but I have seen them done over every inch so not sure on the truth of this.As to being addictive I think it can become so.
