I have just joined Ciao.com. I would like to write reviews for Ciao to get paid. How can I get started here? Any step-by-step instructions or tips on how to get started on Ciao will be greatly appreciated. Any information on how the site works will also be appreciated. Thank you!

I have been a member with Ciao for several years, but have not written very much lately.
The first thing I did was look around the house at what gadgets I had and listed all the things I liked about them. I then did a bit of research on line to get more information and read through the instructions books. Ciao readers like to read how things work and how reliable they are etc.
I then started writing the article story in my word processor and when I had finished it, I read it out loud to see how it sounded. I then cut and pasted the article into Ciao, in the right category and submitted it.
Other readers like as much detail as possible, that way you get a good rating and your earnings go up as other members read. You get paid only when other members read your article, so it's good to make as many friends as possible.

Hi Derek, I'm wondering how long you take to write one review if you have to do all that. You only get paid when other menbers read my review? What if no one does? I have not written any reviews yet. I'm trying to figure out how the site works. I need some time to get used to it. But once I get started, no one's going to stop me! Neither have I added any friends there. Would you care to be mine there?

Yes, I will be pleased to be your friend on Ciao. Yes, it is only when other members read your review, so the idea is to get people to join up and write on the site.
If you read other reviews you will see how reviews tend to be written, and when you sign in, you can rate reviews too, as other will rate yours. You can send your Ciao member's name to my message box on here (mylot), and I will add you as a friend.. :-)

I have been a member on this site for about a month and a half. The idea is you pick any product or organisation (infact you can review most things for that matter)and write a review on it. The site does stipulate the review must be at least 120 words to qualify for payment any shorter and it is referred to as a quick review. Once a review is written your account is credited the following day although I have been told the US version of the site does pay a more substantial fee than the one I use here in england. After posting 13 reviews I have gained a little over one pound. The idea on this site is you build up community points which in turn helps the rate of pay increase for each review. There are several levels of community status and this can be indicated by the coloured dot which follows your username.
To help earn more community points you can read other users reviews and rate them or leave comments this all helps you rise up through the levels and obligates others to in return rate yours.
In terms of payouts I cannot comment as I haven't requested anything thing yet but have visited other forums and have been informed you can earn good money from it.
Hope this helps...enjoy the site.

Thank you for the wonderful information you have provided. I wouldn't have figured all that out if I explored it on my own. Glad to know that the US version pays better than the UK one, since I joined the US one. But that's because they pay via paypal (US) instead of to the bank account (UK).
I will be sure to spend a little time to build reputation with the community points. At this moment, I will just want to write a few reviews and submit them to earn a little bit. You have been a great help. Thank you so much!

I also just joined ciao.com a week or two ago! Since I'm still pretty new there, I'm still kind of figuring things out too, but so far I've been pretty happy with the site. All you really have to do is go into the reviews, then when you find something there that you'd like to also right a review for, then you just go to the link to add your review, and then if you type 120 words or more, then it will ask you for some other information (like pros and cons, how easy it is to use, etc.) about whatever it is you're reviewing and then you can post your review and get paid! Your earnings should then be updated the next morning, like at mylot. So far, I've gotten at least a dollar for every review that I've posted, plus a little extra, I think for when other people read them or something. I reached the $5 payout in the first night I joined, just from spending maybe half an hour on the site, so I've been really happy there! Good luck on the site!

Thanks for the information, Elisa. Congratulations on reaching payout on the very first night! That's wonderful. I'm still trying to figure out how the site works. $5 for half an hour's work is not too bad at all, since I'm spending 1-2 hours here at myLot and get only a few cents. I must start checking out what reviews to write about there and get started right away. Thank you, you have inspired me to go on writing for Ciao!

I have signed up in ciao but have not posted anything yet because I am too busy with my writing projects. I do hope that you learned a lot from the responses that you had received and applied it so you could earn from there.

Hi Joy!
I shall not procrastinate anymore. This post shall be the last one I'm writing for myLot tonight. I'm going to proceed to Ciao! to write some reviews and earn some money there. Actaully, I'm still concerned that I won't reach payout here. I still have more than $2 to go and I have less than 10 days left. BUt the earnings there is just too good to resist. If you ever write at Ciao!, look me up. Same name here. Thanks!

even i wanted to join that side but when i had gonr through the site there were no any statements regarding the pay for each review and i think as i know it pays you only when anyone votes your review and there were no any other pay data and hence i think its really not worth it and then i just joined review stream where they pay you $2 per review or if its selected on bulk rate they pay you 40 cents and the payout is $50 and i had read it here some people had shared about their pay from this site and hence i had joined it and still i am yet to reach the pay. if you want a referral link for this i can send you. here they also pay you when anyone votes but i dont believe that anyone is going to view this page and vote, its very rare but you get paid for the review atleast.
if i am wrong about the pay structure of ciao.com please correct me. and good luck.

Hi icegermany,
For Review Stream, I have just gotten payment from them this month. $50, it takes some time to accummulate but when you reach payout, it feels great. Go for it!
At Ciso! you can be paid between up to $2 for each review, $2 if you're the first to review a product. $1 per review is quite common. If people vote your reviews, you get a few more cents. I wrote 1 review last night and today my earnings show $1.16. That's not too bad for less than 10 minutes of work to write 120-150 word review. At RS, you need to write at least 200 words for it to be considered. I haev written an article comparing the two at AC, but it has not been published yet. I will send the link when it gets published.

I think AC accepts international users. I believe they pay monthly. The only setback is that you won't get upfront payment like me. That's quite sad because those who claim to have done well in AC get to receive upfront payment for their articles. Try it out and all the best!

Just pick a product and write a review for it, and include as much information as you can in it!
I used to be a member, but to be honest, you're better off posting on here, as the income is much better.
I wrote about 30 reviews and got only £5 for them, and the reviews were good quality as well (I am an english student, so they were at least in correct english.) and they were of a good length.
It's so hard to earn on there, you are much better sticking with MyLot!

Thank you for your advice! You wrote 30 reviews and got only 5 pounds? That's too much work. I thought they paid 1 pound per review? That's why I decided to try out. But I joined the US version, because payment is via Paypal. The UK version pays into a bank account. That may cause some complication. And since it is just $5 payout, I thought that it would be easy to reach. Anyway, I will still give it a shot. If I don't succeeded, I can always depend on myLot.

I have been a member of Ciao for about 2 years now. I have not written reviews but I recieved surveys and that too very few. May be 1 or 2 surveys and payout was also very less. To get 5$ you need to do many surveys. About 2 months ago they send me a mail saying they are updating the site and those who have money in their account to request for pay. My account had less money than the amount for which I could request money and I lost that small amount of money that was in my account.

I think you got Ciao mixed up with Ciao Surveys. They are two different sites. This one specifically calls for reviews of products that are featured by them. i'm also a member of survey sites, but very slow going.

well i have never before heard about the site so now that you have told me let me have a look and then i will tell what i feel about the site. but one thing is sure apparently it looks like a good site. they give you when you wrtie and that means they can get money form that so if they give you a cut from that it is possible not like other CTP site where you are not sure how they will earn money.

Thank you for the compliments! I'm really not so good with reviewing electrical and electronics and stuff. I have only reviewed two products so far, my laptop and my cell phone. I have to work harder on that! All the best to you too!

Hi hmbw, I think we all choose the sites we are more comfortable with. I have written an article to compare Review Stream and Ciao! and going to publish it at AC. Once it's up, I will show you the link and maybe it will give you a clearer idea of the two sites, and which is the better one for you. All the best with Review Stream!

I'm definitely going to add you up. It would be awesome to have mylot friends there as well. Yup, I'm from Singapore too and nice to 'bump' into you here. I heard Syd, that payment will be processed around 5 weeks. They will start processing it during the 2nd week of the month, which you have mentioned.
I'd say grab the chance while you still can, and thanks for tip there. I've reached payout and will request payment at the end of the month.

Hey Zed,
I noticed you're from Singapore too. Someone also told me that the dollar payout is for limited time, so really not sure when it will end. I heard that yo ucan cash out once you hit $5 and you will be paid by the second week of the following month. So the smart thing to do, I read, would be to accummulate the earnings until the end of the month and cash it out, to get maximum earnings. My id is SydneyHazelton. You in Ciao US or UK? One respondent here in mylot was looking for me in Ciao, but he was in Ciao UK, I'm in Ciao US.
