I have some sort of dilemma, I have so little free time, but I like to spend at least half an hour a day here on mylot. I love reading all the responses to my discussions, I am really thankful to all the people who answer my questions and participate in my discussions, but I am not always have time to answer them. I feel really bad about it, but it is true. Do you always answer to the replies to you discussions and how you find time to this? Do you get offended if you reply to the discussion and no one answers you back?

I'm not offended if someone doesn't acknowledge my reply, I know people have limited time. I do try to reply to everyone that contributes to one of my discussions, though, because I do have the time.

Ha! I have extra time because I don't have a job! I have a small income and I work like crazy on the internet so that I can afford to pay the taxes on that money. That's why I have so much time. When I get some temporary jobs, I have less time but I still structure it to include important things like replying to those who respond to my discussions.
Another reason I have so much time is that I don't watch a lot of TV, only about 5 hours per week.

If I take the trouble to respond, and I sometimes ask another question, I expect a reply. I do not respond to discussions after I realize the person never answers back. Mylot is supposed to be an interactive site. Not just a one way steet.
Some "discussions", and discussion is the operative word, have gone on for months with a good poster. It can be a lot of fun and sometimes informative. Try it, You might like it. If you do not have time to attend to a Post then to Responses instead until you have the time.

I always answer to my responses if I can, I feel guilty if I do not! It never bothers me though if no one answers my response, it has happened to me lots of times. I understand that people do have limited time and it cannot always be helped so I do not get offended.

Yes, I do find time to read responses to my discussions and, though I can't really respond to them all in turn, I make sure to give positive marks to each comment that deserves it. But, for those that get few responses, particularly those I have posted to specific interests that only have few member, I more often than not respond to these since the comments given by people who share such interest are usually impossible not to reply to. *lol*

No I don't get offended but sometimes when I respond I would ask a question, ask for an explanation, etc and I find it disappointing if the original poster of the discussion doesn't respond, you can't comment on every response and it's not needed, it's a waste of time to just say thank you to everyone or repeat things you said above; but some answers deserves a comment and that what makes it a "discussion" not just everyone posting and leaving and none reads or comments.
PS. No need to comment on this one if you don't have the time :)

Responding back to responses is a benefit for both the parties. You get rewarded in monetary terms and the other person gets an incentive to keep responding back to you so that he/she can also earn. But what i like in this, is the communication that carries on and on..
It really becomes frustrating at times, when you respond to a discussion hoping to get a response back from the person who started the discussion, and the user just forgets about it..
It was about a month back that i started a discussion and for the first time, i was surprised to see 46 responses ina single day. Though i got tired responding back to each response, but it was really nice to see such a huge response and i hope the users also felt good when i commented back.
I like to respond back to the responses i have received in my discussion. Ofcourse i cannot do that if i receive a huge number of responses in a single day.. bcoz i dont have that much patience to sit over here, but surely at some later time, i will reply back. I like to keep the communication going on so that it allows me to know the person more and more..

Most of the time I do comment on the responses my discussion gets but as much as I would like to comment on everyone and thank them for responding, it would only be a violation to myLot's guidelines so I only comment on those I really have something to say back. Responding to a response is keeping the discussion alive and the conversation flowing. That's why I do answer back.

i know i must but i just got enough time to respond to all of them...maybe one day i'll work my time on it to respond...this is also the reason why i don't create discussions because i cannot respond and i don't wanna offend my responders...but if i only have the time i love to answer them all

i always try my maximum to answer the responses i get for my discussion as i feel the opposite person who have answered my discussion has really made an effort to read my discussion and and have thought of the ideas for that and then spend time and energy to respond me and i really want to appreciate the effort done by him/her and i reply to them and as we all are here to write and earn and i feel replying to the discussions or the responses what we get is the better way of earning.
and morever i like to read the discussions as sometimes we can find some questions and also some matter that interests me and i feel like replying on it and hence i write and reply to them.

I always make it a point to answer all the responses on my discussions. Sometimes, as you said, we do not have that much time to respond and at the same time, everybody is saying that responding to our own discussion does not add up to our earning, some of us find it that it is pointless to take so much time just to respond to all the comments.
As for me, I do it out of showing my appreciation to those who have taken the time to respond to my discussion. It is not easy to choose which discussion to respond to especially when there are thousands of them to choose from. So, for them to choose mine and leaving me even a one liner, I would still respond even if it means that my respond would also be a one liner. LOL!
However, if I were to respond to a discussion and I did not get any reply from the author or anybody else, I would net feel offended at all. I would be happy to be able to contribute and that is all what matters to me. Cheers!

I try my best to post my comments on the replies received in response to my posts. Posting my commenting assures the respondents that I have gone through his/her resposne and am acknoleding the same. Sometimes, if the reply is one liner and does not deserve a comment I skip it. I love to post commments and counter-comments thereon and I believe it makes the discussion more interesting and lively. I do not expect everyone to post comments on my responses. I know some people do not post comments on responses, due to one reason or other. I do not take it very seriously. However, when somebody comments on my response, I feel delighted and go for my counter-comments. Also, those who are very particular in commenting on my responses, I take extra care to post my responses to their posts and try not to miss any of their posts.

yes i do, i make it short and quick but i always respond to the comments that are left in the discussion that i have started. well, that's where interaction comes in actually. responding to the comments is like you read and value the comments that they have left for you..that's why i always see to it to respond to the comments and try to make it different everytime. i dont wnat them to think that i just copy and pasted my comments!haahahha

Commenting to the responses to our discussions is solely the choice of the person... so i dont really mind as long as that person do not start one discussion after another and just the rest with out even commenting on some of the responses...
Since i have time... i make it a point to leave a comment to all those who responded before i start another discussion...

Hello soleya. I always respond to responses to my own discussions as a way of interaction on the topic. I am used to this. I usually spend my free time mylotting. I don't feel offended if I receive no answers from the discussion I respond to, but I used to feel so. Now it is completely ok on my side now. Happy posting, soleya. Do not worry about so much, please. I won't blame you for that. Take care and have a good day.

Hi soleya, I don't have time to reply to all the post in my discussion but I do my best.. some people just answers "thanks for the reply, keep mylotting" and that kind of answers.. but I do like to keep my discussion with a lot activity. Maybe with your free time you can answer with "thanks" too.. at least an answer is a good start..

Hi! Yes, I like to reply to all posters that respond. Why, because I appreciate their comments whether they agree or disagree. If I reply to a post and they do not reply, it's fine. Not everyone, as you stated, has the time to respond. But personally I like to make the time. In the future I will start less subjects so that I have time to reply.
