Do you answer the phone if you don't know the number ?

i usually answer all the phone calls if i know the number or not as it may happen that anyone whom i know or my relative can also call from std and hence it becomes important to recieve the call as it may be an important call and i dont want to make anyone disappointed. may be if i feel if its a wrong number or a opposite person is trying to just bug me up i just disconnect it. but i always want to know where the call was from and it will be a feeling in my heart as where the call was from and i keep thinking of that and hence instead of me thinking so much i would recieve the call and know who was it.

No, I do not answer the phone if I don't know the number. 9 times out of 10 it's going to be a telemarketer and I hate those calls. That's why I have caller ID, so I don't have to answer those annoying calls at 8-10 o'clock at night or during dinner...LOL Good question.

Yes I answer whenever the phone rings, it may be important call from a friend or a family member and they are away from their phones.

Sometime we do and sometimes we don't . If we don't feel in the mood to talk to a telemarker and that is who we figure is calling when we don't recognize the number then we simply don't answer the phone . It annoys many of our friends because my husband and I are both the same way in that we can let the phone ring all day and not even bother to get up and see who is calling if we don't feel like it :)

Yes I answer the phone all the time cause I want to know who is calling and what they want. If it is someone I dont' want to talk to I just tell them I am busy and I will talk to them later. If I miss a call I will even use the star feature to find out who called and I will call them back to see what they wanted.

Sometimes, I don't answer the call if his/her number not registered in my phone book.. But if he/she calls 2nd time then I will answer it already.. I don't want to talked to stranger especially now that there are so many people cannot be trusted.. They were just fooling or making fun like they just want someone to talk or they just don't do anything with their lives.. I hate having textmate or phone mate.. It is just a waste of time..

Yes I answer the phone all the time it could be somebody who really needs to get a hold of me and if I do not answer then I will not know if it was someone who really needed me . If it is someone I do not want to talk to then I just tell them they have the wrong number and hang up :P

Yes, I do, because it might be someone I know who's changed his or her number and it might be an emergency. When it's a wrong number, then I just tell them so and hang up. But of course, I always remember to be cautious about the person on the other line. For all I know, it might be a scammer.

I will answer. I have no problem about it. If I don't like the caller because he/she try to sell anything to me, I will talk for a while and than tell him/her that I want to end the conversation. I just ignore the phone call if I'm very busy with my job or in the meeting or something like that.

I usually ignore numbers I don't know, then the next day, I see someone I know and they complain about me not picking up the phone and ask why, then they go on about having a new phone number. I say, "The reason I didn't pick up was what you just said." The reaction is usually, "What?" and I reply, "Exactly." ; ) It makes my laugh later on, but it always seems to happen. : )

If its a mobile number i dont know will either wait for a message or text them back and say "was in toilet dont recognise the number who are you?" And wait for answer. Non mobile numbers i leave cause 9 times out of 10 its someone trying to seel you something

Nope. If I don't know the number, I usually ignore it... they can leave a message.

I do on my mobile, yes. Many of the calls I receive come from overseas and they keep re-routing them through some local exchange so the number on the display changes constantly.

No, it is good having caller id. I like it and I only talk to people I want to talk to.

I don't answer the phone because it could be one of those scams. Either that or its a bill collector from a long time ago so i just let them leave a message. No message no reason to talk to them in the first place. Especially now because i keep getting calls of who i'm going to vote for president and all that, dang that's annoying.

if i find a number which i don't recognise i take the phone and assume the voice of voice recorder and ask them to state their name and leave their message.. then if i recognise them i just say i was joking with them,.. works best with a kerchief on..
