and who decides which to get? There aren't a lot of options for little girls, they're all basic briefs just some have a lower waistline, but little boys have briefs, boxer briefs and boxers. Which kinds do your kids wear and who decided?
My 5 year old will only wear tighty-whities...sometime character briefs but rarely. My 3 year old will not wear briefs at all, it doesn't matter what character is on them, he wants nothing to do with them. He likes boxers and boxer briefs. My now 10 year old also prefered boxer briefs when he was little and would take his briefs off, hide them uner his pillow, and go commando if all his boxer briefs were in the wash!
I figured it didn't hurt anything to let them decide. They are the ones who have to wear them and be comfortable, right? So do you pick the style or let the kids pick?

I let my son pick for the most part. When he was small he wanted the briefs because of the characters (I think now that he is 9 he is mad that he can't find spongebob underwear LOL) He really prefer the boxers or boxer briefs, but he will wear the regular kind too.

I think that comfort is what is important and what is comfortable for one person isn't neccesarily comfortable for another person. That is why there are so many different choices of underware to fit each persons comfort. So there isn't anything wrong with letting a child choose their preference of underwear style.

I started my son out in tighty-whites and when he got a little older he requested the character ones. I have gotten him boxers and boxer briefs. He does not like the boxers and he HATES the boxer briefs, so it is tighty-whites for him all the time now. His butt is too big for the character ones now.
