Now that summer is officially over and we are fast approaching the winter season here in the U.S., my thoughts have turned to planning a garden. My appetite to garden will be fueled when the gardening catalogs start appearing in the mail.
Are there any gardeners here on myLot?
If so, what type of gardener are you, e.g., flower beds, vegetables, square foot, pots, organic?

Wonderful!!! Are you planting flowers or vegetables or a combination of both?

I love gardening but our plot is on a very steep hill so its a bit of a battle. Usually I keep that more or less wild and grow veg and flowers in pots, plus things like lettuce and chillis in window boxes. I dream of someday having a smallhlding tough, with flat enough land to let me have raised beds for different crops and a really big herb garden and fruit trees

You do have quite a challenge with the hillside plot, and I think keeping it wild may actually enhance your property.
How are the lettuce and chillies doing in the window boxes?

Don't give up!!! I have some successes and some "not so successful" plant choices. It is an on-going learning process!

YEs, I love to garden. I do mostly flowers. I also have 2 lily ponds. I think gardening is a great way to relax. I have been working on getting more perennials. one of my favorite tropicals that i bring in to over winter is brugmansia...They smell wonderful.

That is wonderful!! I enjoy the quiet time I have when gardening. My garden is mainly a "pot garden." Maybe someday I will be able to expand.
