What silly things did you think as a kid?

I used to think that a shampoo bottle that said "Not tested on animals" meant you should not use it on your pets because they did not know what would happen if you did.
I used to think that people first kissed each other on their wedding day.
I used to think if you held your breath really hard, you could blow up like a balloon like a cartoon did.
I used to think people voted for presidential elections based on how nice the candidate was.
In second grade or so, they made us decide if we were a democrat or a republican, I can't really remember the assignment, but I do know that they didn't really tell us anything about them. I think I picked Democrat because I liked the sound of that word better. Maybe they picked for us which to write an essay on and I was happy to get that one. I can't remember.
I used to think rain was pee from heaven, and snow was poop.

When I was younger, I enjoyed watching movies. I remember watching a few black and white films. I asked why they were black and white and my dad said, because the film was old and they didn't have colored film back then. I must have misunderstood because after that, I thought that life back then had no color. I thought people from the past were all black and white.

i used to to think as a kid that, every situation i experience, i ever i choose the other way of any situation, WHEN I GO BACK A SECOND TIME AROUND, I CAN TRY THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF WHAT I CHOOSE BEFORE. that's why i linger on situations and memorize happenings as if i can go back and can correct it when the time comes. WEIRD.

My mum used to have this stuff in the bathroom called cleansing gel. I thought it said disappearing gel (no idea why!)so I used to use LOADS of it to try and make myself disappear! Mum was NOT impressed as it was very expensive.
I used to the 'The Late Shop' was called 'The Lake Shop'
I used to think Dot to Dots were Doctor Dots.
I was so weird :)

I am still a child, as you can see I am a little boy! In my childhood, the most silly thing i used to think was about my school. When I was a student of primary school, I was very much annoyed with my teachers. Because, they were very angry persons and used to beat with cane mercilessly if I did not complete my homework. This is why, going to school was similar to me going to hell to be tortured! I used to think everyday, would that a huge earthquake hit our school and it got collapsed so that there was no need to go to school! No place to house the school! Or at least I would get releif from going to school at least for a few months, that means till the school is re-built! Now I understand how silly my thoughts were.

i used to believe in rumors of some ghost living in a cave made out of overgrown vegetation in our school at one corner across the football field and used to go on trips in the lunch break to see it , never found it , but got bitten by a bees in the process once very badly. this is one incident which this discussion brought back to my mind, thanks actually for this.
i know i used to think lot of other silly things but am not able to remember immediately.

When I was a child I thought that all the goings on on tv was actually inside the tv. Some silly mind work looking back now.

LOL! what kind of school you went to, to pick between Democrats and Republicans for a bunch of 2nd graders???? Well when i was in kindergraden they always used to gather us all up into one big classroom. Afterwards they used to go in another room and say "i heard something on your roof, i think its santa clause!!!" i used to get so nervous my heart used to be pounding so hard, then all of a sudden the supposed santa clause used to walk down the hallway with a bell. You expect everyone to be happy but to be honest the whole class was freaked out and so quiet. LOL.

I've got a few more I remember from a discussion with my friends, the same discussion as you brought up, but we discussed it a few months ago.
Ah well. Here are the crazy stories;
A friend of mine thought she had a frog in her mouth eating everything she had put in her mouth, except for meatballs. The meatballs later on played a match or something in her stomach, or perhaps they came down as rain. I don't remember exactly. But something about meatballs at least!
And another friend of mine thought kings were as big and tall as giants :P

I remember a few. :P
Me and my friend thought we could talk and demand the wind to do certain stuff. Ie. We'd tell the wind to make a storm, or cool down a little. And if we weren't 'polite' enough, he (the wind) wouldn't obey us and do the opposite of what we'd asked him to do.
Then I thought that princesses and other royalties never went to the bathroom. Like they were to 'fine' to pee/poop.

What a funny discussion! I believed in Santa until I was in third grade, and I got in a fight with a little boy about it. Mom had to give me the harsh news that afternoon. I also thought that when I was in the bathtub, I would be sucked down the drain when the plug was pulled. I also liked to go outside in our front yard and play "Pioneer" - a silly game where my brother and I collected sticks and acorns and try to stock up on needed items. I'm still unclear why that was fun.

I thought corned beef's got corn in it as one of its ingredients. I ate corned beef thinking or imagining that i can really taste the corn.

Here's two I can think of off the top of my head:
1) When I was four or five, it was Christmas and I had just seen the movie Gremlins for the first time. There's a scene in the movie where the Gremlins are hiding in the Christmas tree and then attack the main character's mother. Afterwards, I somehow convinced myself that the Gremlins were now hiding inside MY Christmas tree. Not only that, but if I got close enough to the tree, they would jump out and eat me.
2) Also when I was a little kid, I went through the whole "I won't let my arms or legs hang off the side of the bed. If I do, a monster will get me, but not if I keep them safely on top of my bed!" phase. Though I don't believe a monster will get me anymore, I still don't like to let my hands or legs hang off the side of my bed. I guess old habits die hard.

I used to think if pregnant woman rolled over, they would lose their baby.
