I have a habbit of tagging "sweet boy" on the end of sentences when I am talking to my son. "Thanks for the help, sweet boy", "Time to clean up, sweet boy".
Well, just now I have been searching the house for something I need. I'm frustrated at my lack of organization and not even paying much attention to my son. When all of the sudden he walks up with it and says to me, "Here it is, sweet mommy". ...... instantly, all frustration gone. Nothing matters as much as this kid, to me!!!!
Without saying a word I just bent over and kissed him. He smiled up and me and said "What???"
When was your last realization that frustration is simply not worth it?
When was the last time you wanted to just reach out and kiss someone for being so sweet?

Last night. My little granddaughter was over and her mommy bought some mini pumpkins to paint. Well my craft room was all cleaned up and when she comes it's like a whirl wind comes through...all the paint etc is all over! I had just scrubbed the table etc and thought....cr*p....tomorrow I'll have to do it all over again....but when she starts painting and the little artist in her come out....I sit next to her and watch her make her decisions about how she wants things done. She uses way too much paint....gets it all over.......but I couldn't help sit next to her and occasionally kiss her little arm....or kiss her little cheek as she explains to me....how it should be done! The room is still a mess.....but I got some wonderful memories and pictures to go with it!

Oh, what a sweet story! my frustration was gone today when I lost my wallet, but didn't realize it until my cup of coffee was already made, at the coffee shop, and my cupcake was on the plate ready to be eaten. my friend who owns the place pinned an IOU with my name on it, to the cash drawer, and told me to pay when I found my wallet. I ate my cup cake, and drank my coffee, then ran back home to look for my wallet, which I eventually found. Now I am back at the coffee shop for another cup of their delicious coffee. I thought it was so nice that they were going to be that nice to me, after I'd lost my wallet.

I am so glad you found your wallet, danishcanadian.
Hahaha...... probably wouldn't have been a good idea to plant a kiss on your friend for being so nice. But I am glad you were able to have your coffee and cupcake to help deal with the frustration.

I often want to do that with my sister and my daughter because they are just precious and do the sweetest things all the time. My sister showed up and surprised me with things she brought back for me from her vacation.

Ahh, they obviously care a lot about you.
Go ahead, lay a big smackaroo right on them next time they are sweet. Haha

What a touching discussion for me to read this morning! I can just hear a child's voice saying those words. I praise you for having such a relationship with your son. I miss my children being young, the youngest is 18 now. We have a very loving relatinoship with all four of our children. That is missing in so many families today.

Hi, crazynurse.
Sadly, that is missing in so many families today. Thumbs up for doing such a good job with your four.

Ohmigosh, I KNOW. I remember the very first time this ever happened....... he was an infant and I was patting him on the back burping him and he started patting my shoulder. All babies do that but it is such a sweet thing when you realize, they recognize it as a loving thing you are doing and want to do it back.

That's lovely Pots. He sounds like a really good boy. I kissed someone today. When I was ill earlier this year (for months) she was always there for me with kisses and cuddles. She's not too well herself just now. The least that I could do was return a kiss or two. A really refreshing discussion Sweet Pots!

What a cute story. See, you are your son's sweet mommy and he learned from you how to share his feelings.
When our kids were little all I did was hug and kiss them. I couldn't get enough of their cute little personalities. They are grown now and I miss that kid/mom interaction. I get to share my affections now with our grandkids.

He is certainly smart, to know what you are missing, and to find it, and then to mirror your usual comment with a matching one of his own.

oh that is just so so sweet, pun intended lol,
I remember one time when I was really bored and I just had to get out of the house. I had no where to go but I just had to get out. It was freezing outside, and I bundled up my young son, he was about six at the time.
We went downtown and had a hot chocolate, I was still bored but my son looked up with his big brown eyes and said, this is fun mommy,
by that made such as difference, then it really did become fun.

Kids are great aren't they? I love when stuff like that happens. My world becomes so small. My example is a bit different but sweet all the same. My daughter often says "I love you mom, but not as much as I love God". I am amazed at her young age and her understanding of religion. She out shines me.

That is so sweet!
It's okay, I suppose we should want our kids to out shine us.

Why can't I remember that BEFORE I get there?
