Is USD3000.00 monthly salary good enough for Manila, Philippines

If my husband gets USD3000.00 per month and accommodation provided (condo) and I get around only USD1200.00, is it good enough to have a good life in Manila, Philippines? Is it possible to have a good car with this kind of income? What kind of lifestyle can we have? Average lifestyle or below average? No children, only both of us. Please advice, someone from the Philippines. Need to know everything before we shift to that country very soon.

I think if that is your monthly income here in the Philippines you'd be very rich. You can have a nice house a luxurious car and everything. $3000 is almost 140,000 pesos and $1200 is equal to 54 000 pesos, so all in all you have almos 200 000 pesos. whew! that's a big money!

yeah, even some of my Filipino friends here in Singapore told me the same as you said, but, I couldn't really understand because firstly I have never been there and secondly, if we were to get this kind of pay in Singapore, it is just OK (not high income) and cannot have a luxurious life. NOw, I am so relieved after confirmining from mylotters that this income would be good enough for Philippines. Thanks for your response.

well, you do not need to pay for a rent, and you will roughly get about 50K in pesos with the 1200USD they will be giving you husband. if there is only the two of you... that means you will have more than enough for the both of you.. spending only on food, and on some other basic necessity... well i sure hope that is enough... oh.. wait, you might need to actually ask for a raise.. i remember the amount will be deducted a tax on it. so might be around 40K, monthly.... hmm depends on how you live but might not be enough if only your husband is working for the both of you.

Well I guess you can live rather comfortably in here. That is roughly around 129,000 pesos and that is almost my years earning in here. If the place is provided for you even much better since you won't be problematic about you place anymore. Probably your expenses might be for your transportation and utility bills which would amount depending on your consumption. having no children is also an advantage for the two of you maybe you could even spend some nice places around the place. More so if you lived in the provinces where life is much more simpler than in the metropolis like Manila, Cebu or Davao.

Thanks for your quick response. Yeah, a very nice house is provided. We will be living around two-hour drive from main Manila. We do not need to use a car to go to work because we will be living only few steps away from our work place.

Well that would be great then. I guess the only thing you have to adjust around is the environment perhaps as the weather is kind of erratice especially these days when its rainy season. Plus also the places to go where to shop, grocery, and many other small details of your life in here. Unless you are a Filipino yourself then you can easily blend with the community you will be in. With regards to us we really are very hospitable people and you would not take it hard to adjust to our culture.

Actually, that is MORE than enough..My mom is filipino and she sends her family $1000 a month and that is really good for them. Enough that they have opened their own business..

Thanks so much for your response. Actually, we are from Singapore, we will be living there as an expat for few years. We have never been there, so, we do not know anything about the country.
