Yea! Unless you have a LCD monitor or Kindle... then well, things might be different then.

I have never enjoyed reading e-books so give me the old fashioned paper books any day of the week! I find reading books online hard on my eyes and the constant scrolling gets to me after a while. Even with shorter documents I prefer to print them off and read them rather than view them on the computer screen.

Book-reading for me! I'm already staring at the computer screen for more than four hours a day going online, checking e-mails, and blogging...why would I want to further spoil my eyes by reading e-books?
I have always liked reading the real book and always will, no matter what. Even if e-books take the world by storm, I'll still be holding the real book.

I prefer reading the actual book than reading it online or e-book. It was more comfortable and convenient for me to read the actual book than e-book because reading online especially a novel or book that quite longer in the computer was kinda tough and tiring. My eyes get hurt reading it. Unlike when I have the actual book, I can lie at my bed or can read it any time I want like when traveling. So, I quite prefer it than e-book.

E-reading is all in the rage nowadays as more and more generations of youngsters get in the rage of the internet! The internet is becoming more and more popular nowadays and if you ask the new breed of generation, they would tell you that they could not live without the internet!
Lol, but for me book reading will always holds first place in my heart. Never did like books online and never had read books online. Somehow or rather for me, E-books could never replace the real actual books in my hands.
I love the smell of having a new book in my hands. That is an experience which one would never get from reading on an E-book. There is no smell coming from an E-book. hehe.. And I love the feeling of flipping teh books pages to pages, and coming to the end of a book gives me such a big satisfaction that somehow or rather, I don't think I could get from an E-book.
Besides that, if there are words that we could not understand, we can always highlight the words in the book and come back to it in the future. And in the process of reading an actual book, we are also improving our English and expanding our vocabulary.
The pros of book reading still outweighs any pros that are given by E-books, and there are some things that E-books can never replace in an actual book.
What about you? What's your take on this issue?
Well, thanks for posting such a wonderful topic! Thanks and happy mylotting!!

Nothing compares to curling up with a good book. That's why books just keep right on selling no matter what else comes along. In spite of all the dire predictions of recent years, books and libraries just roll right along. (Good thing for me. I'm a bookseller)

I like book reading. I like to be able to hold the actual book in my hands and read it. I have never read a book on the internet before. I like to play around on the internet but I do not believe I could sit here and read a book online. I just like to be able to sit down and read and relax.

Hi wangkai,
I definitely prefer reading real physical books that ebooks on my screen.
The experience is just totally different and personally, I don't quite like the glare of my screen (it might change if and when I change to a LCD monitor...) and also sitting straight up in my chair looking at the screen.

I would prefer reading a real book. It's difficult reading an e-book; I've got to sit down at my computer.
Moreover, with a physical book, I can read anywhere. And I can bring the book with me to bed, read until my eyes are tired, and then I sleep. I can't do that with an e-book!

I like to read both the paper books and the electronic versions. Both have some immediate advantages as well as disadvantages. To read the e-books I need to stay right in my chair in front of my PC (I am planning to buy a laptop soon so the scenario might change soon) and that's a tiny turn-off. Other than that, there are no other objections at least not from me. The paper books are dearer in terms of portability. I can always get in bed with the book in my hands, lie with my back on the pillow and read till I feel sleepy and can also use the book as a pillow if I am somewhere without pillows but that's not relevant here I guess. :-P

eBooks may take over from print books some time long in the future, but for now, paper and ink is still the best reading experience for most people. Reading on the computer screen can be hard on the eyes, and ereaders, and the books for them, are just too expensive. I can borrow a book from the library, or buy a used book as cheaply as 25 cents. Amazon's Kindle costs over $300.00, and the books cost from about $9.00 on up.

Hello wangkai. I would definitely have to say book reading. I can snuggle up better with a good old-fashiopned book better than I can with a computer.Plus, if I shift or move around a little I don't have to worry about my page dissappearing as I would on a computer by pressing something accidently!

Books! Give me an real, tangible, old-fashioned book to wrap my hands and mind around. There is nothing like a book for experiencing other lives, other eras, and/or other worlds. E-books are fine, and news on the Internet gets my attention, but my heart (not to mention a fair bit of my pocketbook) belongs to books.

Hi there, I've been a fan of fanfiction for years so you could say that I'm quite used to e-reading. However, if given the choice, I'd still prefer to read real books. Reading stuff on my computer screen usually strains my eyes so much that I need to take breaks in between. I find that reading real books is more relaxing.
