No, I do not have the habit of biting things like pencil or something in the mouth and I even see this with my daughter which is 11 years old that if she felt that do not like the things that just come and passed on her way she will bite her nail but I do not allow her for it is not good.....

I'm a teacher, and my red pen always used to have a really disgusting bitten lid.
I didn't really notice, but one day, a student of mine remarked on how disgusting it looked, and I saw that pen lid in a totally different light.
I don't think I have bitten on a pen since.
For some strange reason, I don't chew pencils, I suppose I don't like the bits the come off it.
I have also stopped biting my nails.
Just have to stop all my other disgusting habits now! Lol.

I don't have the habit of biting of pen or pencil at present. But this habit was with me for some days in my childhood particularly in my primary school days. But by the advice of my tutor, this habit took good bye from me. Yes it also feels me like you, if I find or take a pen or pencil bit by any other person. This creates lead poisoning among children like more chocolets. This bad habit mostly develops with children and needs constant guidance to be rectified.
Thanks for this nice posting!

I use to many years ago, when I saw many unruly pens and pecils that were just awful. I stopped this habit and had some much better looking pens and pencils, lol.

when i was young, i used to bite on pencil erasers. actually, you may consider it as 'chewing'. i remember gingerly biting an eraser and i didn't noticed that half of the eraser was already gone. if the pens have bite marks on it, then my classmates know that it is mine.
now, i have a more discreet and acceptable reason way of biting into stuff. when i think, i usually bite on a pen, a pencil, even my finger. my motto, use the lip, not the teeth. so no bite marks will be left for everyone to see. :D

Yup i bite the pens, not so much the pencils though, i rarely use pencils. My worst habit is biting my nails. I have tried all the tricks for stopping that, but none work, even putting icky tasting stuff on them..lol. biting stuff like that seems to be a nervous habit.

For that reason I don't like borrowing peoples pens. Well because I will start biting on their pen forgetting that it is not mine. I just get down to chomping and when that happens I just never return their pen. I do have a bad habit though of biting on pens. Then on the other hand I would not receive a pen that has been chewed on by that other person. That is just gross. I would either ask for another pen or look for someone else to ask for the pen.

Oh yes, I have a terrible habit of biting pencils, pens, and nails. I'm not quite sure why, since I do it rather subconsciously. I remember asking a friend to lend me a pencil that had evidently been chewed on. Despite this, I absent mindedly chewed on it without realising! Anyway, yeah I tend to chew on pens and I'm not quite sure why because they are quite tasteless.
