Resolved Discussions

I just finished resolving my unresolved discussions! Some were from four weeks ago! Others were from two weeks ago, etc. I don't mean to wait so long to rate my discussions or give a best response, but sometimes life just gets in the way and I don't get a chance to go back and do that. Today is the first day I've been here for three days due to having to work so I thought after I waded through three days of emails, I would come over here and check out the discussions. So out of curiosity, I clicked on "unresolved" and found I had four topics where I didn't rate or give out a best response. Are any of you like me and wait to rate your discussions or do you do it right away?

It depends on the discussion. If I don't get but one or two responses, I will resolve it within a week. Most of them I will let sit for a couple of weeks, mainly because I forget they are there. But, I do go in at the end of the month to make sure that I don't have any unresolved discussions before starting a new month. Some times I leave them there for awhile because I really don't know how to choose a best response in a particular discussion.

That's part of my problem too...not being able to pick out a best response. But then a lot of my discussions don't seem to go over very well to begin with.

Mine either. I would rather respond, than start a discussion, I guess.*LOL*

I post a lot so I tend to have a lot of unresolved discussions too. I tend to go through once a week or so and go through and pick a best response for all but the more recent discussions I've started.

I usually don't even think about it, but I guess I really should more often. My problem is the time factor. Some days I can be here, others I just can't.

i usually prefer to wait... i don't give best response straight away or too fast as it won't be fair to the other members who answer later in my discussions... once i choose my best response, i can't change it anymore... and if there is a better answer after that from the other member, i will feel really bad... that's why i prefer to wait and not to rush... take care and have a nice day...

Good for you! I have unresolved discussions that are months old already. But I don't want to award a best response to the only response. it doesn't seem fair that way. I only give best response awards when there are at least 5 responses, unless of course one response is really very useful and informative. :)

Well, for me, I have pages of unresolved discussions. Some of them are discussions I have started since September, but many of them are Older than that as well. The main problem is time. I just never seem to have the time to keep up with all of them, and then when I do, there are times I can never find a discussion I am Happy enough with, or torn between a few as well. I have been thinking since it is the end of the month, maybe I should take time to resolve a couple more of mine as well.

A big part of my problem is time too. Look how long it took me to respond to this discussion!! LOL.. I've been working and other things come up. Sometimes we just can't help it.

Hahaha! Thanks for the reminder. I usually do mine every two weeks so I do not get a large buildup of unresolved discussions. I don't think I've done it this month at all. Guess I'll be busy tonight late. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Good for you that you were able to get back to them in as little as that time. I had unresolved ones as old as two months and I have just cleaned them up. I usually rate immediately after reading their response but giving out Best Response usually takes longer.

Hi there Wyldrose I have got loads of unresolved discussions like at least 3 pages!! I just don't seem to get around to dealing with them. I like to wait until I feel my discussion has finished before I give someone my best response but I rate people for their response as I go!

I usually try to mark the best responses on every Friday. But I am thinking now that, that is Too soon. I might start doing it like every other week,, or less. This gives more folks time to get a good response in! And I think that some folks do not respond if the the best response has already been giving out. I really want to get a lot of responses, so I think that waiting is the way to go!

I rate when i feel there is enough people who had made responses and some have made a good answer from the topic i posted. It never come to the point where i forgot to rate but i do wait that i received more responses before i rate and give out best response.

I usually wait a bit due to various reasons. The main one being that I don't always get the best responses right in the beginning. There are also times when I am too busy and can't choose the best response. It might sometimes be more than a month or so when I give out the best response. Some of my old responses were resolved just a few months back because I didn't have many good responses that I thought were worthy of a BR. So, I waited till someone responded and the discussions came up again...and many others responded. Right now, I have quite a few unresolved discussions. I will select BR when I have the time to go through all of them (some again) to decide which is the best. But I try to keep up with the comments bit even when I don't resolve the discussion.
