Texas State Fair!!!

The Texas State Fair has opened its gates in Fair Park in Dallas for another year. Did anyone here go on opening weekend? Are you planning to go this year? What is your favorite thing about the fair?I'm planning to go with my family next weekend. I think my favorite thing is the animal shows. I always make sure to catch the bird show and the dog show. Both are a lot of fun! My husband is looking forward to the US Marine band and the parade and light show.

I WISH I could go! I live in Houston and I have NEVER been to the state fair! I am jealous of anyone who gets to go! The only thing I've seen of the Texas state Fair is form King of the Hill where Hank is all about "Big Tex" but I have never seen him in real life! I am a big fan of Texas (born and raised!) and I LOVE carnivals and fairs! Maybe one year I will get to go.

I don't mine the trek, it's only a 4 hour drive, and I've driven to Tennessee before! The drive is not my problem it's having the finances to go when it's time to go! That's the problem!

I have never gone to the Texas State Fair but I hear it is pretty fun and really big. If I am ever back in Texas and it is convenient to go I would like to.
