Oooh, that really gets on my last nerve!

Is there anything that someone calls you or they want you to call them, affectionately or not, that just gets on your last nerve? For example, I have known women whose significant other wants them to call them "Daddy". I hate that with a passion, you aren't my "Daddy". I also hate it when a guy is too friendly to fast, with names like "Babe' or whatever the case might be. My ex used to call me Kathywabucks. To this day I still don't know what it means, but even my kids call me that now. Its become a term of endearment actually. So what about you, is there any names that you are called which just simply pull your chain?

I don't really mind pet names and term of endearments as long as they sound cute, LOL! Well, I would appreciate people calling me my name, there's nothing wrong with my name, thank you! But if loveones sincerely wanted to give me cute names to show their affection, it is welcome. Now it's another story when fresh guys whom I just met would call me Babe, I admit that just gets on my nerves, no way! (Now you're making me sing "Don't call me baby", please stop this song in my mind! LOL!)

Good thing that i have a name and a lot of good nicknames can be derived... so whatever they call me... as long as it is not degrading... it is okay... but i remember when i was working in the US... first time i heard Americans pronounce my name... it sounded like music to my ears... so i love hearing them say my name over and over again...

well my man calls me gorgeous even though I am not but I am to him and that is all that counts. My ex used to call me puzzy meaning short for puzzycat, but I would not like that now. the terms like my ball and chain, or my old lady or anything like that I would not like either.

When I was a kid, my mom misunderstood my dad one time when he was retelling something he heard at work. She thought that my dad had referred to her as "the old Lady" OOOOOOOOh, was she mad!I remember it to this day and it was one of the first things I told my husband not to say. I find terms like that VERY disrespectful.

I think my name is beautiful and when someone calls me Kina, it makes my skin crawl. My ex use to call me Mush, because he said i would cry just watching tv. which is so me. so that i liked, but other then that i just like my hubby calling me Babe

Yes I hate someone wanting me to call them Daddy or my partner saying "yes dear". ooh I always know something is wrong with the yes dear bit. That is him being complacent and that is not my partner at all.

I have a friend who is named Mary Jo. She says that she does not have a middle name and that her first name is Mary Jo. People would call her Mary. She hated that. I called her Jo. She was fine with that. But.....to prove that her first name was Mary Jo, she had her name legally changed to Marijo.

When I was young my other siblings calls me skinny in Tagalog "Payat" They always tease me with that name because I was really skinny..I have a sister who lives in Canada and we haven't seen each other long now and she still calls me that and I am not even that skinny anymore..lol..but I don't mind it anymore. They also call me Neng it's another term for "Nene" They used to call small girls here like that but I have grown up but still some of my sibs call me that and I am even taller than them lol..I used to hate being called names but I have outgrown it and I don't mind it anymore. As long as it's not a bad word then I am good with it. I wouldn't want to call a guy daddy... I call my dad Papa and my kids call my husband Papa too so I call him that as well but mostly just address him by name...My kids call me Mama. Mostly at work I am called Paige (Screen Name at work..we have to have one) and at home I am called Jenny.

In Australia... anyone call "Patrick" or "Patricia" is automatically called "Pat". As my name is Patrick... I hate it with a passion and won't let anyone call me "Pat". I set them straight about it right away. Don't have a problem with terms of endearments. My ex-girlfriend was using quite a few. lol But I can see how "Daddy" would be a bit extreme if he is not your daddy.

I only wishes to be called by my real name, someone addressing me with any other adjective or names is not appreciated by me. I feel I have an indentity i.e. my name - Deepak - which must be respected. A 'Deepak' is a small earthern pot with a cotton in it and some oil, the cotton is lit and it (the earthern pot) gives light to it surroundings.

I think he might've been having fun with your name. What he used to call you sounds like it might've been taken from "Daddy Warbucks" of Little Orphan Annie. Now, my semi-feral Gizmo I also call "Gizzimoto" that might be taken wrong if heard by the wrong person since it sounds kind of Quazimoto the hunchback of Notra Dame as it should since I'm taking it from that. But Giz is a handsome cat.

i never had a word that gets into my nerve... but i do have a lot of pet peeves and they do get in my nerves. like you, i dont like it when someone is too friendly too fast, especially if they feels were that we're close enough to be comfortable to me. like for instance, when a guy puts their hand on my shoulder as if im his girl or something. i hate that... especially if you're not my friend, most especially, my bf. i mean, we're not friends. so get off my back! :)

What really gets on my nerves is when a cashier or waitress calls me honey or sweetheart, just because I am older and in a wheelchair. Once is ok but over and over is not.

Sometimes i do. but i guess it's their way of recognizing you or appreciating you as a person. even if you hated.when a guy is too friendly then just admit to him that he should act like that way to if you don't want. who knows, maybe he has agenda why he's been friendly all of a sudden.be careful

In my school days people used to call me Brain and I absolutely hated it, my name is Brian but the amount of times I was called Brain or spelt Brain, but some did it on purpose because they knew it wound me up! Then they used to add Brain or lack of afterwards. My ex used to call me baby boy which I hated because my ex treated me like a child and it really pressed all my buttons, but then my ex knew that and would continually call me that to provoke me!

Not really, but i wonder sometimes. Since I've had a couple of guys in my life called me babe, or hon..honey is it easier for them to do this than to remember names? Or is it really a term of endearment? I mean really. Like I don't say honey to my husband most of the time, I call him by his name. Is it just a male thing. It seems to be as most of the women I know address their man by their name not a "term name". And the men use something else or their wives name. What gives guys?

I do not like to be called any names other than my own original name. I have never really had a nickname from any man before. I would not want to call them any other name either.

I for one do not, have never, and probably will never have pet names for significant others in my life. No way. However one of my boyfriends always called me "Cutie Pie" and it made me feel ADORABLE! I loved it! And then one time my friend out of the blue called me pumpkintits and while I didn't get it, I thought it was funny and so I found it endearing.

I never like the name mahal. It is a filipino word which means love. A term of endearment but i consider it corny. And everytime my hubby jokes around and call me with that name it really makes me irritated. I just feel like the word was overused and i dont like him calling me with that name again lol.

I only like to be called by my full "real" name. I don't really like nicknames, but that is just me!
