With a advancement in technology, cell phones with digital cameras are in vogue. Anyone can afford these devices as the prices are not too high. But the question is if you have a good camera in your mobile phone, would you still buy one? As to me I certainly would like to buy because I think mobile cameras do not have all the features. What about you?

I would personally buy a digicam.
I would not want my cellphone to multitask so much.
I would like a gadget that specializes at something.
The cell must then specialize for textng and taking calls in my case.
That's my opinion though.

For me, it depends on how high the resolution and the storage capacity of the phone. If the resolution is at least 5MP and the storage is at least 2GB. I know that most phones come with a memory card slot but there is the cost of the memory card. It is still quite expensive in my area.
Right now, I am using a 3MP camera, it is very old already and my phone doesn't have a digital camera. I figure since most of the phones out there have about 2MP cameras, I might as well get a phone with more functions but without a camera. After all my old digital camera has a higher resolution.
That was some time ago already. Now, phones with camera are cheaper and I think the best sellers are those with touch screens.

yes, I would buy a separate digital camera (which I actually have). My phone has a good camera too but for me, a phone is still a phone. I can't rely on it for plenty of pictures. A phone camera can also go so much with too many pictures. A digital camera serves its purpose when needed that's why I think this is still important. Having a separate digital camera can also give you the freedom to choose how many pixels you want your camera to be.

I think camera phones are great as long as they are not too big, we have a samsung u600 camera phone and we use it often, we also have a bulky camera but we prefer to use the phone as it's more portable and it just slips back into your pocket after you have used it. I don't know what we would do without it now as we get some great shots of our little one on it and it's just so handy to have around, i am however thinking of upgrading to a better model as the daughter has had her hands on it and it's gotten a fault in the memory of it.
But yeah camera phones are great.

Ya i would also buy a Digital camera and i have even bought a Polaroid Digital camera which is 10MP and 4X Optical zoom and i think due to the features only i have bought this its more better than my camera phone which has a 5 megapixel camera but its not worth the quality in my camera..when i take pictures in my phone and develop it i'm not getting the clarity that i have in my camera and more over my phone's camera is not feature rich..especially it doesnt have anti blurr and red eye reduction and it doent have a good flash light...happy mylotting...

Hello cybersoft. I am using a simple cell phone without simple functions mainly for making calls and sending messages. I have two digital cameras. Even if I have a cell phone with a camera, I still prefer to use my digital camera to take photos as the quality of the photo is far better than one taken by a cell phone camera. Take care.

Nope. I'm perfectly happy with the phone that I have right now because it has a great 5 megapixel built-in camera that has not let me down so far. Plus the I have a lot of phone memory so I don't really have to worry about running out of shots. At least if you have a good phone, you don't have to spend extra for a digital camera.

well my partner has just just bought a new phone and its a very high tech one with a 5mp camera on it and i have actually found that is takes better pictures than our digital camera so we have stuck with using that
i have a prety basic camera on my phone its ok for capturing certain shots when the camera is not available but not as good as my partners at all

i agree with you.. even i asked this question to my friend once.
Mobile camera will help you in important situations if you forget to bring your digital camera anywhere. one more thing is, mobile camera can do (for taking pics or video, but acting like we are in a call, placing it in ears, but with the cameras on.. hehe..)"spy works" (both good & bad) where Digital or any cameras cannot be used.
i have a digital camera. presently i have 7610 nokia. but still i plan to buy an high end camera mobile because i am using all the features from calculator to sms backup, recording calls, capturing sudden moments which are really important, irremote software for changing channels in television, for using various softwares, etc.,
so i prefer high end or mid end mobile for using these features, eventhough camera is not a main feature apart from it.

We have a cellphone with a cybershot camera and 3.2 megapixels. It's a nice shot so we didn't even bother to buy a digital camera. Why would i buy it, if i have my phone with a nice quality picture. I am really wise when spending money. If I have enough is ok with me.

I own a Sony Ericsson k850i with a 5 megapixel camera (voted the best camera phone of 2008 until the 8 megapixels phones came out recently). I also own a 5 megapixel digital camera (Cybershot A530) and I can say the digital camera out performs my phone.
I use my phone camera more though, as I carry it around with me at all times, and it's convenient. With the phone, picture quality is good on the screen but when transferring it over to my PC, you see not much detail has been captured. Sure the picture is clear and detailed when you zoom out, but zooming in, things look pastey/blurry. The phone camera is good for general use, but is certainly not good enough if you want to use your photos for high quality jobs.
