Do you aggree what other said that Filipinas are mail - order - brides?

Almost all poor countries have mail order brides. The former Soviet Union has a lot right now. Men who can's find a wife by normal means look for a bride from another country who might be a little less picky in order to get out of poverty. Still all in all most women in poor countries are not mail order brides. I know of 3 men who married a woman they didn't know. One married a Filipina, one married a Ukrainian and one a Bulgarian. None of the marriages are made in heaven. One got divorced after a few years.

I think, that perception originated very long time ago, when in order for a Filipina to get out of a poverty life, she has to be practical in marrying a foreign man. There it became mail-to-order-bride. It is still a taboo in our Society that such perception exists because of the increasing financial crisis and unemployment. Women nowadays are getting practical in choosing the person to marry. On the other hand, this issue of mail to order bride is not only happening to Filipinas. It's an international issue. The only reason that the issue focused on more to Filipinas is because foreign men love Filipinas. Filipinas have the beauty and appeal different to other races. We have that values and attitudes that attract foreign men and could easily fall in love to us.

I find it quite amusing. How can one say that brides could be get through mails, by placing an order. I think it is the creation of some devious and devil mind, who would have framed this unhealthy quote.

wow i wish it was true i would order hundreds of them through post as they are so beautiful :) seriously I would not worry too much what other people say because you know in your heart it is not true and even if it were true it is just a natural progression of dating and meeting someone special. People tend to throw that phrase around without knowing any facts and usually out of jealousy because they can't meet beautiful women like phillipina's for themselves. So for me it's a definite NO they are not mail order brides :)

I don't think that all of Filipinas are, because I sure am not. However, there may be that notion because there *are* Filipinas who enlist in such Mail Order Bride sites and such. Unfortunately, life is just that hard here in the Filipinas that we have kabayans who would sacrifice true love for a passport and support for her family. Personally, I would be insulted if I were called as such. But if the matter was to point out that there *are* mail order Filipino brides, I wouldn't deny the fact. If a Filipina is in a site known for mail-order-bride, then she is one. But so are all the other bride to be of different nationalities that are in that site. Well, it really hurts to be generalized as such but I will never give time to discuss anything about the Philippines with somebody who has such skewed view about Filipina or any other woman of different nationalities. Arguing with them will only bring me down to their level of ignorance and prejudice.

generally, its not!...I do believe there are but i guess all countries have like that. Even in western countries they have also mail to order bride. Its just that Filipinas are one of the most wanted bride. They are the ideal wife of anybody. They are sweet, caring and lovable wives. And most of all they are faithful to their partners. i am proud to be a filipina. hope that world should not think negative to all the filipinas.

Hi Aisa Ellis my friend. I have seen this topic for quite some time know and it got me thinking again. I know for sure that there are many dating sites all over the world and i do agree that it is unfair to categorize a nation of people for a couple of site interactions. I think that the Filipinos are beautiful women who want to be loved like any other women around the world, and there is no harm in that.

I do not know more about filipinas. May be it is true that not only filipinas some Asian people involved with it. But do not bear it that all the people of these countries are so. It also little true for our country.
