which would you prefer to have as a pet? a cat or a dog?
they said that dogs are men's bestfriend. does this mean that dogs are better than cats. cats, on the other hand are small and handy. alhtough there are dogs that are small and handy too.
but having any of them means responsibility. so whichever you choose, you have to make sure that you have the patience to care for them......
so which one will you care for?

Definately dogs! They are man's and woman's best friend. Cats are cute and soft and fluffy but they don't do tricks, they don't get excited when you walk through the door even if you just left for 30 seconds, they are moody and only seem to want to be with you if they feel like it, whereas dogs are always happy to sit with you and listen and cuddle.
I also don't care for litter boxes....

Two of my cats come to the door to greet me when I come home. They stand with their front paws on the door and look out the glass while I come up the porch steps. They can do tricks. They don't bark at a squirrel in the next county. They purr in my lap and are a great comfort and joy. Would you mind changing a baby's diaper or would you not have a child for that reason?

good point, it's just my own personal opinion. You're lucky you have affectionate cats. As for diapers versus cat litter, it's the amonia smell of cat urine that I can't handle.

I grew up with cats. My mom is a cat person and did have a dog until 10 years ago. I really love my dog, but I still miss having a cat. My husband is NOT a cat person. I find that my cat, which was bigger than some small dogs, was a perfect personality match with me. So is my dog, but not our second dog who is not all the smart. I think it has more to do with their personality and not what they are.

While I tolerate dogs, I am not nor have I ever been a dog person. I feel dogs are very demanding and take a lot more care and attention than a cat. Dogs should be useful as watch dogs, guide dogs for some, protection and companionship. Not pampered and spoiled as some are. To me big huge dogs in the house is unsanitary unless you have a huge 20 room mansion with lots of square footage. Smaller houses they slobber, get hair in your food, wap you with thier tail. I consider big dogs to be ourside working dogs such as on farms, ranches etc. They are fine and should have a good warm place out of the weather and lots of human companionship such as walks and working cattle, sheep and things or just romping and running with children. Children and dogs are good combinations if you have the right kind of dog that is loyal, some breeds are better for this than others.
But I prefer the independence of the cat, the mystique and haughtiness they sometimes have. While they too like companionship and petting and attention they are not as high maintaince as a dog and often find things to amuse themselves if your not there all the time. Of course it is better to have two cats. They like to be petted and to purr, they do mouse are clean and tidy usually. They are not as needing or as demanding as a dog. No one ever really owns a cat, they choose whom they want to associate with. Treat them right they stick around. Offend them and they may find a new home. But I like cats best they are interesting and do give companionship that is not overly demanding.

i am not a pet person and to me it is just one more chore/obligation to take care of. my son wants a dog but i have had dogs in the past and between walking them numerous times per day and taking them to the vet and making sure you have food for them and feeding them i just do not have the time or the patience to add one more thing to my list. i am allergic to cats and would never want one anyone as i do not like cats and hate all the hair that they leave everywhere. i am more of a people person. would never harm an animal and have gone out of my way to even rescue a few but do not want them in my home.

We had dogs as companions to our children when they were young but gradually switched to cats. Most cats are affectionate but independent enough that they can be left alone for 2 or 3 days. All they need is sufficient food and water and a litter box. Most dogs should be left in a kennel if you can't take him with you. When we had a dog, one of us came home at noon to let her out, and we took her with us when we went on vacation. My husband and I are senior citizens and wish that some of our neighbors would take better care to keep their dogs from barking so much. We go to bed early and sometimes take naps in the afternoon. When my husband is awakened by barking dogs, it makes him feel cranky. My vote is for cats. We have one only. He stays in the house except for visits to the vet. He's been neutered, so he does not try to get out every time the door is opened.

I like dogs especially miniature dachshunds. They are so cute and tiny. I think the smooth hair miniature dachshunds are the cutest. They look like puppies even when full grown. They are playful and smaller than cats.

I like both cat and dog. I have 1 cat and two dog. Having them in my life is good. I feel happy because I can play with them and enjoy seeing them. Having them do need responsibility. I have to make sure that they are well taken. If they are sick, I will bring them to veterinary for treatment.

We have both a dog and two cats. My preference would be cats because they are more independent and less needy than dogs. One of my cats likes to hang out in the garden with me and is the best company. The dog would much rather run through my garden and it wouldn't be good for my plants.lol.
My husband prefers the dog because she obeys commands better than the cats and is more of a companion for him when he takes walks.

i dont have a preference. cats are easier but they dont need to be walked. they have their litter box. but dogs, u can just let them go out in the backyard to go to the bathroom. they are both like furry little babies u have to take care of.

If I am going to have a pet,I would choose a dog. Cat is cute too but I think cat is a lazy animal, walks slowly and not that alert compared to dog. Dog is more active and energetic. I prefer dog than cat. I would like to have a terrier as my pet. It's so cute and active. If I have a terrier,I can play around with it,it would be lots of fun. Lol.

i love dogs
dog is the fine pet which you can have
and they are very friendly and sincere unlike cats which are not
this doesn't mean to hurt cat lovers
but dogs are always sincere
yes definitely which ever is the pet you select it is totally your responsibility to take care of them, they are very sensitive animals

I am definately a dog person. I have 2 papillons myself, they are very small dogs. I never grew up with any pets but when I was younger our neighbor had 2 siamese cats. Whenever I would try to pet the cats they would claw at me. They did not like kids at all. Now my daughter has 2 cats and although they are kind of sweet the memories of the siamese cats makes me aprehensive. Besides who could resist the ears on those papillons they are huge.

i would prefer dogs, because thay can protect you from strangers and robbers... but taking care of your dogs are much responsibilities, you must walk them out play with them., feed them with expensive dog foods,..
but over all with it, dogs is the best of all..
