Do you believe that when door closes, another will open for you?

As some of you may know, we have had the worst of times, with myson out of work for weeks now, and being evicted. but God answered my wishes but with a different door, I wanted to stay here in Orange county ca where I have lived for years. I wanted my son to get a job here. But rents here are outrageous. His internet friend from England and another from Antioch Ca have got together, they are sponsoring an apartment for us in two weeks, with a big moving truck and driver also paid for. So a new door has opened, and I will be moving to a place I have never been before. this God does answer prayers but not always just what you might want. My
questions to you are do you believe God answers your prayers, but he has his own answer to them? I will miss my friends but the rent is lower up there and jobs are also easier to come by. as long as I have my computer, my mylot friends are always close at hand

Oh for goodness sakes..I was born in Garden Grove, Orange County...LOL...Small world huh?
Yes I'm a great believer in that idea when one door closes another opens. And yes, often times not always the way we had hoped for, but sometimes it actually turns out for the better than what we prayed or originally planned for, don't you think?
Just a question though...did you ever try for Section 8 living?? My friend in Chico, Ca was able to reduce her rent tremendously through it so she practically pays for nothing as far as rent

Oh, nearly forgot....have you ever tried for SCRIE? It might only be a NYC thing but the full name of it is Senior Citizens Rent Increase Exemption (SCRIE) Program..but they might have the equivalent in california only under a different name

hi Pye and Kitty I will tell my son about section 8 living, that might be a really big help. Yes I am leaving Tustin, and will miss Southern Ca as I have been here since 1963, a long time. We lived in Garden Grove for awhile too.

You hang in there Hatley, things will get better.. I do believe God is watching over you and when he answers prayers, the answers are usually even better than you can imagine they would be.. I don't like change but sometimes change is good for us and things turn out for the better.. I am keeping you in my prayers and Never forget that when God closes a door, He opens a window.” If you always remember that and keep the faith, you will do fine.. Please keep us updated on how things go for you and just keep the faith, things will work out as long as you do.. Good luck to you and hang in there..

Yes I do Hatley, 100%. We may not realize it at the time but events in life will always cause us to rethink our current standing and will ultimately lead us on different paths. My own life has had many ups and downs and many different circumstances that have resulted in directions being taken that I would have never DREAMED possible. Life changing events force us out of our comfort zones and to think hard on why certain things happened and what we can do to rectify the situation. Those that do not try to recognize the triggers in their lives are doomed to repeat certain events over and over again unfortunately. AS they say, change is as good as a holiday. The key is to accept circumstances and never be afraid to step outside the box when we determine our next plans of action. The best thing about difficult circumstances is that we have the chance to reinvent ourselves and our mindsets. As I have already stated, we may not realize it at the time but there is a definite silver lining around a difficukt event such as the one you have shared. I wish you good luck with all you do Hatley and believe me; a time will be here before you know it where you will look back on today as nothing but a speedhump.

I do believe that God answers our prayers, but not always in the time frame we would like or in the ways we expected. If we're open, God's plan is always so much better than what we would have chosen. How wonderful that God has set you on course for a new adventure. Moving is never easy, but if you're going to be in a place where the cost of living is lower and there are more jobs, then that's a blessing.

I Agree with you Marilyn. God does open and closes doors on us in his own time. And yes I believe it is always that anotherone will be opened in his time but I think that when he feels rushed on our trying to speed up his time table he has his own free will to make us wait longger on the things he thinks we need in our livesd at the time because he has a greater lesson at that time of the waiting period he is trying to teach us to learn and I think that lesson is Paitiance. But I must addmitt I do tend to forget how to be patiant a lot of the time. I also suspect we are all guilty of that at times in our lives of addversity.

I do believe to this, that when a door closes, another will open soon. As I have posted recently, I lose my second job, so when October came, I only have this regular job of mine that I receive a very low income. And that is almost not enough for the needs of my family, with the house rent, electricity bill, water and gasoline, etc. But I believe, sooner or later, another opportunity will come. It may not be for myself but it maybe for someone in the family, that will help me in the budget matters.

I'm not a very prayerful person but I do pray and I have experienced God answering my prayers a lot of times. I do believe He listens to us and yes, He answers prayers but not always the way we want it. Sometimes, makes me wonder why would God answer our differently. But I realized God's answers are always better than what I'm asking for. I always end grateful because He answered my prayers His way.
And yes, when a door closes another door (or doors) will open for you.;D I do believe God has a reason for bringing you wherever you are now. I'm sure you'll have lots of friends there in no time. ;D

Well, when it comes to things in life, for anyone who is a True believer, and Prays, it is True that god will continue to open a door for you anytime you need it. It may not always be in the way you were expecting, but it is often where it is needed, and he never leaves you hanging as well. I am Glad that he opened the door for you in this way. Sounds like a great answer to Prayer for you both. Wishing you the best in this new adventure, and Please keep us updated as well.

Hi Hatley...
I sure do believe in this saying. I'm relieved to hear that things are looking up for you and your son. Talk about swinging from rope to rope.
To expand on my explanation, well... personally, I think that God answers our prayers based on what He thinks is best for us. It may not be exactly what we asked for but He will give whatever it is that we ask in due time. Yes, you'll be leaving Orange County but you'll be going to a new place. I'm pretty sure got has a purpose for doing that. I'm happy that your son has such good friends with good hearts.

Yes, I do agree when one door closes another one will be opened unto you. Also that our prayers can be answered even though they aren't answered in to the way that we would hope or have any idea of how they will be answered. God has the master plan and he always knows best.

Hello Hatley. I was surfing tonight on the site (I don't post much anymore) and came across this and I'm so glad I did! I'm happy for you. Truly. As my gran used to say "Every ending is a new beginning and every new beginning is full of new opportunities", and how right she was! And of course, she always swore that God told her that personally! LOL I think really she had enough life experience to believe that prayers are always answered - but often in the manner God knows is best for us, and then He leaves it up to us to do with His answer what we will - new opportunities and like that. So I'm glad you are open to this major change in your life, and you just never know what is 'beyond' that new door that has opened for you. So keep us up to date ok? Take care and the best of the best of luck to you sweetheart! Hugs.

Hi Hatley, How lovely of your sons friends to do this for you both, a new opportunity, fresh new, you can keep in contact with old friends and make new. Your prayers were indeed answered. We don't nescessarily get them answered in the way we want but in the way we need to be able to move forward and shut that door and open others. Good luck with the move, look upon it as a new adventure. Huggles. Ellie :D

hi rosekitty yes a tremendous weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and I have tried to tell my best friend that the move is for the best, I know she will miss me as I will miss her too but we just could not handle these high rents here. they are just doubled from what they were about six years back. 600 to ``1400 is a big switch for working class people like us. wow.

Hi Hatley, I have always believed that when one door closes another opens, and I have proven it to be true many times in my life. There is a purpose behind what happens in our life, and although we may not understand it at the moment, all things really do work out for the best. There is a reason for everything that has been having to both you and your son over the past little while. I have no idea what it might be, but I feel certain that you will see it, perhaps much quicker than either of us realize. I ask only the best for you both. Blessings.

Oh Hatley! I am so happy for you! I know that you have been
so worried! Yes God does work in mysterious ways that is
what they say! There is a reason that this has happened
and maybe your son will find a better job with better
pay and maybe you will find this new place to be better
with better friends and you will be happier and so will
your son. He has some wonderful friends to do this for
him. That is truly just so great to have friends like that
to come to your aid when you really need help. I am so
glad that you will have a chance to have a new home and a
new life with your son and have new opportunites for him
to find a job and maybe even a better one then before. I
wish you and your son all the very best of everything.
You know your mylot friends will always be here for you
no matter where you are! Love & Hugz, Opal

hi opal I just couldnt make my best friend understand that
to me this is a great new beginning, oh I will miss her so much but we have to do whats best for us, and the rents here have gone up so much its outrageous. what used to rent for 600 dollars a month for a two bedroom ordinary apt. is now renting for 1400 a month and we just cannot make that kind of money here with the job market so terrible. And I will have mylot friends wherever I go too.

I truly believe when one door closes another one opens. At times we think one thing is good for us but God has something better in store for us. There have been times when I was determined to do something or go somewhere and something would happen to where I couldn't do it or go. I would be upset and think that things weren't working out but then something better would happen for me. Although you will miss your friends maybe you will meet some new people who have a purpose in your life. You never know. Be blessed.

yes, i believed that it is god's will and part of his works to provide you with a different challenge in life. one thing lead to another and they are somehow or rather related. you never know what will happen and whether this move will lead to something better if you do not try. in time of difficulties, we experience true friendships and assistance others have provided and to me these are strenghts other have given you and your family to move on to a new challenge. take the challenge with an open heart and the future should be brighter as there are many other things to look forward to. As you had said in your post, you have many mylot friends to accompany you. while we may not be with you physically or by your side, we are always here to share your joys and unhappiness and lend our ear and well wishes to you.
