I'm wondering how often does everyone give their dog a bath? I have a boxer and i give him a bath about once a month or so, but lately we haven't had the chance with the kiddo running amok and me trying to finish school work and whatnot. Anyway i finally got to snuggle up to the mutt and he stunk, and this is the first time i was actually like, "Whoa we need to give you a bath pooch." How often do you guys bath your doggy?

I have a peek a poo and she stinks and always has, thankfully I do not have a good smeller so it does not bother me as much as hubby. She goes to the groomer ever 6 weeks for a bath and a haircut and I will give her a bath in between visits if she gets to bad. I did not think a person was suppose to bathe a dog to often as it dries out the skin. she also has a ton of allergies and is on prescription dog food and licks herself a lot. The vet said to give her benadryl for this but I do not like to medicate her unless she gets really bad and than I will give her a half of one. I think I would not dread giving her a bath if I had a good way to give it to her, bending over the tub is hard on my back. I guess we both are getting pretty old. LOL

I have a Toy Poodle. I did bathe him every week in the beginning, but then I realized that was not necessary because he has no smell. The further I get in my pregnancy, the harder it is for me to bathe him. It's just very tiring. Now I mostly bathe him about every 2 weeks, and that might even be too much.

hidookie... I have a dog - a toy poodle and I give him a bath every after 4 days and I also brush his teeth, he's turning 4years old this Oct 27 and I do love my dog so much he sleeps in my bed and I never allow him to go outside he is only allowed to go out if he'll do his thing (pee and pooh. I live here in the Philippines and we have a humid weather all year round although there are an occasional rain showers that's why I can afford to bath my dog every 4 days without any worry that my dog can get sick unlike there in your country that I assume the climate is really cold. Happy mylotting.

Hmm tricky problem. Our dog is big enough and strong enough that bathing him becomes a problem. We cannot lift him into a bath as he is too heavy and does not like it. We bought some shampoo to try and wash him outside but with the water restrictions we cannot use a hose so that is also a problem as he run at the first sign of water in a bucket or watering can etc. The odd thing is that he swims and loves it. He will spend ages out in a pond or lake swimming to his hearts content. This seems to give him a slight bath and solve our problem but we cannot understand how a dog who loves swimming is so paranoid about being bathed.

The chihuahua's get their bath about once a month I believe, or if they decide to go trodding through the manure field, then well then they come in from being bad chihuahua's. My fiance and I aren't the bathers of the puppies though we are like "stand in" if they happen to get dirty while his parents are away.

When its summer I wash my dog about everyother day. If the weather is cooler he gets a bath about once a week the latest. He actually gets a bath frequently because hes inside and goes everywhere like the couches and beds. So my mom is always giving him a bath.

My mom bathes her dog every other day in baby wash. She smells so nice, like lavander and chamomile or sometimes she conditions her with herbal essence, that smells nice too... We are considering getting a yorkie or poodle or anteater in the future and will probably follow in my moms footsteps.

Well, I did not realize so many thought of this differently, until reading the comments here. I have 2 dogs, a black lab, and a black heeler. I share my bed with them, so....... they both are bathed at least once a week, and in the summer, even more often. I can't even imagine a them going over a week without a bath. Thankfully they enjoys their baths. Nocturnica

its just simple.. just bring him to the bathroom and start bathing. you just hold the body part so he cant move a muscle. then start to use the soap. dont show mercy when you bathing the dog.

Hahaha... this is funny, I can't believe your dog only bathes once a month. I have a cute yorkshire terrier and he pretty much gets a good scrubbing once or twice a week and if I feel that he's looking a little scrounge-y in between baths, I give him a dry bath. It's sort of a powder bath. :)

We've given Lucky only 2 baths in the one month we've had him. He's still a little too small be to in a huge bathtub. I do know that if we had something smaller, he would be getting a bath about once every few months. So as of right now, he doesn't get a bath often. I have a feeling that once he gets older and discovers the outside, we'll need to spray the hose on him every once in a while.
