Hi
Thanks for sharing your experience. I must be careful about this in future. In general, I'm also worried about sharing card info. So what do you think sharing card info with paypal is secured?

really i think we should be thankfull to you for this information. dont you think that this kind of matters are really rising day by day. i have a friend even she had noticed this kind of mail and then she found it was a fake and this one was for alertpay but the mail link she noticed was ``alirtpay `` and a day before i got a alert from mylot that someone else is trying to access mylot and they had did a alert i think even you might have got that, do you remember.
it is really going to be risky if all this kind of malpractices happen as we give our account details to alertpay and paypal. dont you think so. in case if we dont notice and give the details dont you think we will be just ending up in a disaster.
we need to be really alert and i hope this paypal and alertpay team should do something against this malpractice.

hi kaybelle I was just going to warn you til I read the rest
of your discussion. glad you realized you were being scammed by some dastardly criminal type who wanted all your identity. glad you were so wise.It would not hurt to let the real paypal know about this scam though.

your discussion will surely benefit us all..who has an account on money making sites like mylot.com. yes! i've heard of those FAKE SITES that ask for your personal information, those are like sites which are not really connected to the real sites. good thing that you've entered the wrong password, and to all of us. be very vigilant when it comes to filling up or receiving emails/spams.

I got one of tose emails too, where they want your information. I called PayPal, and asked them about it, and they told me that when you are addressed as: Dear Paypal customer - that right there is a tip off that it is a fake.
When they address you, they will use your name.
Any time you're not sure - call them, or when they do send you a legitimate email, copy and paste their email address into your address book for future use, so that you don't have to spend money on a long distance call.

This has been happening for years, and warnings are out from paypal against these types of emails. It is just disgusting to me that these fake sites and emails are sent to get peoples' information for fraudulent use! Thanks for the warning and reminder about these!

oh, thanks for sharing this info and experience of yours, I didn't know that there are emails like that that link to a fake paypal site till you mention it in here. Thanks for giving us a caution to this kind of things, I'll know what to do if ever I'll get this kind of email. By the way, thank goodness that you enter the wrong password. Again, thanks for sharing this to us,

Thank goodness you entered a wrong password, but better change your paypal password as they may be monitoring your key strokes and your password may be very near to that. I recieved a warning about these mails already and from then on only enter the site by typing their address completly. It is the best way to follow I think.

Thanks for letting everyone know. I am still in the process of trying to link my paypal account to my bank account. It has already rejected one account I tried to add so fingers crossed it will accept the next one. I will also keep an eye out for the Paypall just incase.
