Last night an officemate created a discussion about smileys and to her surprise after she posted it, it was posted on my account. Here's the link to the discussion: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1728373.aspx#up_562MXWJSqXXs4OlfLL4awUBbAeshmBIpL%2fer22eiIE4%3d Well, this happened several times here in our office sine we all share five computers for internet access and also use it after office hours for surfing anf myloting. This happend to her three times and I just pity her. She already wrote to mylot about the issue but i dont think mylot can do anything to move the post to her account.

Hello Zelmarq, I suspect that it has nothing to do with myLot. It is highly likely in my opinion that someone has forgotten to log off and relogin. If the person posting check to ensure that the correct account has been logged on to before posting, then this issue might just go away. If this doesn't work, I have to agree that something strange is going on and myLot is definitely broken. Before logging in, try and clear all the cookies and cache. You can do that manually or using e.g. the free Crap Cleaner program downloadable from www.ccleaner.com .

Hehe~ In that case, make it a point to remember logging out after each myLotter session. If you received that last alert from myLot too, someone is trying to steal passwords and you don't want to accidentally fall victim for whatever reason. Better be safe than sorry.

Well this is the first time I am hearing about this. Probable due to the LAN connection it would have happend. The best way to avoid this is to use seperate connections for each computers. You can also use the option of public computer while logging in. This might help you.

I hope mylot can do something to remedy this problem as soon as possible. It would be unfair to other members if this happens always. What could have gone wrong? Maybe you can just make up with her by suggesting a possible idea for her new discussion?

Its the second time that this happened to her, the first one was posted on an officemate's account. These were interesting discussions so it was expected that many responded.

Oh was that from your officemates? Sorry to hear that, I think she has also lapses in her part maybe she wasnt able to see to it that she did signed in to mylot using your account unlogged out, maybe she was in a hurry or something when she didnt see it and yet it was created to your account. Or probably the usage of the same IP, I'm not pretty sure on that though. It is kinda sad, but maybe you can have the remedy of giving some share to her your earnings.

NO, she logged on her account, posted and was confident that it was hers, then when she posted the discussion it was already mine. And of course earned under my account.

I think there is nothing much can be done to move the discussion under her account. Maybe next time she needs to be more careful when posting discussions. Good luck.

Hi Zelmarq... I'm not surprised really I answered a discussion once and it came out has my nieces acct I'd made for her but was not my mylot acct and I was signed in under my own username I was really perplexed at the time but since then I've noticed how they always give out false time readings for all my activities, last night I noticed a discussion I'd started had "1 week ago" next to it yet it wasn't it was "4 weeks ago", they never have the right time next to postings I don't know why they just don't take it off completely because it's so misleading. That's a shame about your friends discussion I suppose all she can do is repost it, if Mylot can't help.

Well, it really has something to do with using common computers at work and at home. I have no problem using the computer at home coz im the only one mylotting there and now i have decided to stay on one computer to prevent the pronblem from happening again.

Hi Zelmarq, I had responded to the misposted mylot discussion which actually was created by your officemate yesterday. You are lucky to get some extra income by this I would be glad if my new discussion going to the accounts of my friends or people whom I’m familiar with rather than to disappear to elsewhere. I think the problem of misposted might due to the sharing of computers as well as the network, especially if the computers using have the same ID. I’m the only one using computer to do mylot posting in my house so I haven’t come across this misposted problem before. I would do mylot posting in the nearby cybercafé only if I couldn’t access network in my house or my pc is out of order. I think I would better be more careful if doing posting in the public again. posting and have a nice day.

Hi Zelmarq, you are most welcome. I think it doesn’t matter if you leaving comment on every response received for that misposted discussion, so that the responders would feel glad for giving opinion on that discussion. I think you should treat it as a gift from your officemate. I hope that she would feel happy to see her misposted discussion to receive many responses, though it’s not under her username. Anyway this proves that she is good in creating new discussion. posting and take care.

I saw that discussion a while ago... and thought that it was not the type that you usually starts... too bad for her though... so i think next time she should check first before starting or responding to discussions... or else the posts will always be credited to you... good thing i am the only one who uses this laptop...

Yes, its not realy something that has something to do with my posts coz I alread have more than three thousand posts and I have been using th smileys for a long time. Its good to be very careful next time, but I guess there something to do with using public office computers.

What happens it is that she did not log you out and log back in to her self? Now you guys are going to have to share the profits.

Most probably it has something to do with ip address, its set to a certain proxy server.

Sometimes my responses get credited to my wife's account, and vice-versa. This happens despite us logging in to our respective accounts. And even here in the office, when she's using her own computer to access mylot, I still find myself accessing her account at my own terminal. Weird.
