I am totally not a photogenic person,I am upset about this sometimes. Because I am not photogenic,so I don't like to take pictures. I don't know how to make myself look better in photos. There is not a single angle which can make me look nicer in photos. How about you? Are you photogenic? Do you like to take pictures? Thanks for the time to read my discussion. Please feel free to drop comments.

I am not a photogenic person and do not like to have my picture taken. The school pictures that were taken every year always looked awful. I would try to get my mother to not buy them. Some of other people looked great in their pictures but not me. My 3 year old grandaughter does not like to have her picure taken either and trys to hide her face. I guess it runs in the family.

I would say that you probably are photogenic! We all generally have this view of ourselves I think. I too am not keen on having my own photo taken, I'm pretty self-conscious! I think the more that you practise having your picture taken the better you will feel about the whole idea. This will come with time and eventually you will become comfortable in front of the camera! Goodluck. Andrew

No, I am not a photogenic person at all. In fact I hate having my picture taken! I tend to close my eyes when the picture is being taken and WHAM! I used to think it was because of the flash, but I have noticed that I do this even when there isn't one. It can be frustrating to get a good picture.

No i am not photogenic. I am actually pretty decent looking in person but for some reason the camera does not love me. lol. But for some odd reason i am a total ham. Whenever there is someone with a camera im right in front of it. I have found that when i take digital pics of myself i have to take like 10 photos to get 2 that look good. Even models sometimes take bad pics. Have you ever watched Americas Next Top Model? The judges will criticize the models on how out of 50 frames they only got like 5 usable shots.

I'm not really in good terms with the lens so I don't look good in pictures either. But well there are just cameras who can at least massage my ego by producing good shots of me (just a few though). I think it depends on the camera and it depends on my mood, my mood does affects my pictures. But oh well, why throw the blame on something else? If I don't look good, I really don't look good, End of conversation! LOL!

I like taking pictures and I know my angle. The downside of being photogenic is that people would often say that you look prettier in photos than in real life.

I don't think that I am but have others say that I take nice pictures. I used to get angry and run from cameras. Now I actually enjoy them. I have even posed for some photos for my hubby, that was alot of fun *wink* *wink*

I'm not photogenic either yenwie84. I don't mind taking photographs but for some reason when i look myself in the mirror and then take a picture of myself it looks worse than when i was looking in the mirror. I don't know why this happens and i just can't ever get the same image of how i looked in the mirror to the image i take of myself in the camera. It is annoying sometimes or embarrassing when people look at my photo and say how weird i look. I'm not the kind of person that likes to take photographs and i tend to avoid them when i can especially when people try to take my picture randomly or for no apparent reason. I don't take enough care on how i look in the first place though so i think that could help make me look better.

i'm also not a photogenic person. i wish i can save as many photoes as i can, so tha i will have more memories when i'm old. but everytime i take photo, i'm upset. especailly when lots of people are there. i always think my appearance is not good. so i always refuse to take photoes. i know it's a bad habit. younth is not always, it's better i can leave as much as memories for my future.

I know I am a photogenic person. Maybe I was just born with it. I look better on TV and photos than in person. I know my best angles and whenever there's photo session, I try my best to post on that angle.
That doesn't mean all my photos are great. It's just that whenever I'm conscious that I have to look my very best in that photo, I do my pose ;)
Anyway, what you can do is take a picture of yourself at every angle using your digicam, and remember your best angle. From that point on use that angle whenever you have to pose for photos.
Good luck!

I can be photogenic depending on the camera, lighting, and angle. I know that's a lot of factors so you'd probably think that I'm not photogenic at all. But once in a while I find myself looking better on film when taken with the right camera and the right lighting and the right angle. I wish I were photogenic all the time. Oh well. I do like to take pictures though especially the half body poses because I have ginormous hips and legs.

I look absolutely horrible in pictures. I try hard to stay out of photos. I would really like to have a good photo of myself and my two granddaughters but in every picture I look awful.
My husbands daughters are pretty and photogenic and they love to take pic and be photographed so I am always trying to stay out of their pictures. My daughter is gorgeous and takes beautiful pictures and I think it is really unfair that I look so awful but that is life and it sure is not going to change now.

I like some of the photos of me. There are some in which I look pretty good.
Then, there are others that I just don't really like due to the angle, the lighting, not being made up, not having a nice outfit on, etc. Those are the photos that should never see the light of day.

I never have problem with taking photos. It is a matter of knowing the good angle. The best thing you should do is take a shot of yourself in every angle and see which one is best. There are some shots i dont like too but that doesnt stop me from trying taking another shots till i get something that i really like.

No, I don't think I'm that much of a photogenic person. As a matter of fact, I take so few pictures of myself, I have had the same profile picture on Facebook literally for close to a year. I can't remember the date I took it, but I seriously took that particular picture in October of last year. I just feel awkard with new pictures of myself for some reason.
