Do you spend longer time taking a photo?

Some people spend longer time taking a photo. They have to set the mode and adjust different setting to get the right shot. Most of the time I am not one of these people. When you have a child, you can't wait for longer time to take photos. You have to learn how to capture the best shot in a short time

Hello, youless. I hardly ever take pictures of anything. However, when I do, I just wait for the people to get in their position and press the flash button. Then the picture is already taken. If I'm not taking picture of anybody, then I'm also quick. This doesn't mean I make good shots. In fact, I make some really awful shots, but I lack practice. Now, I agree with what you have said. You gotta know how to take the best shot in a short time, because some things will not wait for you to get ready at all, isn't it like that? Respectfully, Munhozmib.

I am the kind of person that takes really long to take a photo, I like to take my time, spending time at putting all the effects and trackings on my camera, then looking at the angle of the photo, the moment of the light, every detail... people usually get nervous, but then they find I can make the most artisitc photos!

Perhaps spending longer time taking a photo seems to be nicer, however, some nice images just disappear soon. We shall learn how to take good photos in a short time.

I am not a patient person! That is one of my weaknesses my friend which I truly recognize and standing around fiddling with knobs, distance, zooms or getting the best frame is not me! I could never be a photographer! I just take the shot and generally hope for the best, 9/10 times I am happy with the shot I have taken but I am no expert, as long as I have captured the scene or photo I wanted that is good enough for me! Easier when things are still and don't move!

Good morning, youless. I don't take a long time before I take a photo as my digital camera is not a professional one. It is a very convenient one to have photos taken. You are right that the best policy is to capture the best shot in a short time so long as you think that it is the most wonderful moment in a very natural state. Have a good day, youless.

My dad takes photos slowly and that drives me crazy. Sometimes my mood can be lost because of waiting for a long time

Hello again youless. So you are fast-tempered, different from your father. But remember, a slow-tempered person usually does things more carefully though a little bit slowly. Yes?

When taking photos, I prefer the candid shots that are not really rehearsed. Those are better for me.

ha ha ha ha ha... I know what you mean! Especially when you are trying to capture a moment with the child who is in a very joyous mood! They rarely have the patience to wait for you to finish with your composition of the settings for a particular shot. At times like that, it is best to leave the settings at AUTO to let the camera do the job. Think of it this way, you paid good money for the technology in your camera. Trust that it can do the job correctly. Worse come to worst, use photoshop to edit the photo afterwards. Cos when you miss the golden shot, your child is not likely going to give you a repeat of that moment you are trying to capture!

When I'm shooting, I try to take as many photos as possible. So I'm constantly shooting. I don't spend a lot of time setting up the shot. I may make some adjustments here and there if it isn't working out, but I spend most of my time shooting. I don't want to miss a great shot, ya know?

Hey youless, just sew your post today``I like to take photo wherever I'm using my smart SONY DC.Thus, you could image that I'm not the one who spend longer time to adjust the setting or sth like that,I like to capture the beautiful and best second. If for the case of taking photoes of children,I would like to say the best pictures will come from the second other than make a post in still coz they actually do not know very sure what you're doing~lol``hehe~`what do you think?

Fortunately today some digital cameras will allow you to take several photos in seconds. It's a improved feature.

Yesterday I spend 45 minutes setting up a table-top and making a series of exposures; shooting kids I set up before I leave the house and I can get through 300 shots in an hour; same with sports. Landscapes, macros, dragonflies in flight, birds on the wing: the way you shoot is at least in aspect a function of what you are photographing, but also in your familiarity with your equipment and your subject, and with the reason you are taking the picture...you may well want to spend a little more time and effort shooting for a client than for you scrapbook, or for a picture that will never be seen again once you have had a look at your monitor.

The last time we put much effort into posing for a picture was a family shot that my sister set up, and then we just stood there for about 10 seconds, while my camcorder captured it, since no one knew how to use the auto-timers on the other cameras. I captured the image from the video and it came out well. I use my video camera for everything and capture still shots later. This way I don't have to take time that I may not have, when the photo is being created, I can just edit it out of the video after.
