All of my home country is on Greenwich Mean Time. Do you live in or have you visited a large country that has different time zones? Adelaide seemed to be just half an hour different from Sydney so I thought that was strange. Time difference affects me when I travel. Have you ever experienced jet lag? I flew at midday from London to Los Angeles to arrive at local time three in the afternoon. I felt so tired because my body clock told me it should have been the middle of the night. I went to bed at 8 in the evening that night to wake up at 4 in the morning.

U.S.A. is like that, it has 3 different (or 4) time zones.
I never experienced jet lag though, since i'm a pretty heavy sleeper, but by the next day im all good :)
China, however, has only 1 time zone.

Yeah, I'm in the US. Four time zones. It's great (not) when you have friends and relatives in the different time zones and have to figure out when you can and can't call them. Or if you're on the east coast and doing business with the west coast.

Australia has three time zones from the West to the East Coast and I believe that the country with the largest number of different time zones is Russia with around six I think? I had actually never experiences jet lag before until my last trip to the USA a couple of months ago. It's strange really because I travel a lot, but until this last trip I had never experienced it before! And the funny thing was that by the time I had taken a few days to adjust to the new time zone I had to turn around and fly back to Cairo again! lol.

The furthest I have been is Europe my friend, so obviously it's only an hour difference from the UK and the longest flight I have been on is 4 hours so I am not a globetrotter and haven't suffered with jetlag, but I am sure I am not missing out, however I will have that pleasure to come when I go to New Zealand won't I, do you know what their time zone is compared to UK? And is Sweden the same an hour difference?

Hi my friend Wolfie. If it is 21.30 in London it will be 22.30 in Stockholm and it would be 09.30 in Auckland. That is because Sweden is one hour ahead and New Zealand is 12 hours ahead. When you go to New Zealand if you fly with only a stop for refueling you will get jet lag. I suggest you stop off for a few days en route. When I was 14 I went on a 3 and a half hour flight to Greece. My friend had some Australian relatives visit and they remarked that it was only a local flight. Happy traveling.

I live in Canada and it is a big country and we have several different time zones. I can't say how many for sure, but I think we have about 4 or 5 different ones. I live in Calgary, Alberta and we are on Mountain time. Right now it is 9:27 am where I live. What time is it where you live?
I used to live in Winnipeg, Manitoba and they are on central time. There time is one hour ahead of ours in Calgary and I have to remember that when I phone home. I have forgotten a few times and have called my mom too late and woken her and felt really bad for it. I think that since we all live in the same country our time should all be the same, but not. Oh well, I just have to be more careful when I call my mom. She doesn't say anything but I know it must make her angry since I woke her up.

i never meet such conditions in my country.i lived in china,
may be you can tyr to get you clock as if you when in the time zone that you are heading to and set your sleep schedual to that for afew days,it might help your body adjust to the timing difference.
the second advisemnet is when you lose time zones travelling east, try to eat and go to sleep at the 'normal 'times for that locate, getting some excerise is very good for adjusting and staying healthy.
finally ,if you are travelling often, stick with a single airline, and collect your frequent flyter miles,if you have premium status, then you can request and exit row seat to get some extra space ,whenever possile ,you should use your miles for upgrades rather than trying to use them dof additional travel

I live in Canada and we have the Pacific Time Zone, the Mountain Time Zone, the Central Time Zone, the Eastern Time Zone, the Atlantic Time Zone and then there's Newfoundland (that's a joke because it is halfway between the Eastern and Atlantic.) So when we drive from Winnipeg to Saskatoon in the summer, I get very hungry because my husband thinks we have to eat at Regina time that is later than Winnipeg time. Saskatchewan has no daylight savings time so it is confusing and it is when we look at the television schedules and they are either shown in Pacific or Eastern standard time. I never experienced jet lag. I am usually tired a lot of the time, I guess it is because I was born in Scotland and my body is still on Greenwich time because I go to bed and feel wide awake.

yes, in this country there are several time zones.
Eastern (latest) Central, Mountain, Pacific
I think that is all of them.
The real trouble comes in when some of the areas will practice what is called Daylight Savings time where the hours are further adjusted up or down an hour
while other areas do not practice it. what a mess.
I experienced jet lag when I flew from the Eastern USA to Spain (and back again)

The US has four time zones, eastern, central, pacific and mountain.
I live in the eastern time zone. When I took a trip to Colorado to see my husband's father, he lives in Central, it is a two hour difference behind. So when we arrived it was actually nine in the evening, but where I live it was actually eleven. I did not notice any difference I adjusted pretty quickly.
The same when I went to Las Vegas, there is a three hour difference behind, same thing, I just enjoyed the three extra hours I got on the first day, I still seemed to wake up at my usual time in the morning.

My country is also big enough and she have 4 time zones from the east place to the west place. The different place under in different time zones, their life timetable is very different. Our whole only use one kind of time, use the capital time zone's time as the country's standard time. So many interesting things come out, when in 8 o'clock we had go to class, but my friends were not get up, many times we must to count times to call to others.

You've been to the US, so you know we have tons of time zones, but it's a very big country. Alaska and Hawaii also have a couple or more zones past the contiguous (attached) united states. Take care

My body clock has been all over the place! Been to China-Vietnam and then on the other hand, to the other side to all parts of the USA, from the UK.
So, sometimes I don't know if I'm coming here or going there...haha!
Best thing to do, if you travel like you did to LA...is to try to go to bed the smae time you normally would in your own country. Can be tiring but stick with it. Then, you should wake up at a more reasonable time.
However, I do suffer when I return from Vietnam or China, as I wake at all hours for about a week!
Best wishes....

I think my worst jet lag came when I flew from Florida to California (4 time zones), then off to Hawaii. And, of course, back again in a week. I think it took me 2 more weeks for my body to get back to normal. Weird.

Although there is only one China in my time zone, but there are differences
between the east and the west,Take the Shanghai and Urumqi ,the sun has come out in the side,on the other side of the day or black,it is clear the east and the west of the schedule is not the same, have the opportunity to experience the charm of the time difference.
