I think I sway between the present and the future. Afterall, it is the present that makes the future and for my present to lead to the future I intend, I should have a vivid idea of where my present and my future lie - so that I could link the two in due course. From time to time, I do look back at my past to record and oversee my progress - but no, I don't dwell on my past.

Well in the past I was always a dreamer and spent all my time dreaming of a colourful future. But now I have become more practical and use the lessons from the past for a better tomorrow.I am drawing from one such dream from the past and am waving a white handherchief at you ,with olive green embroidery.I hope you can see and recognise it.Will you be my friend? I am rose.

You know what, I keep saying 'live for today', 'live for the moment' and stuffs like that. But practically even when I have tried my best its but hard. How can you just shut off yourself from your past and future!
I would rather live today, materialising on the lessons that I have learned from mistakes and planning a little bit for the future. That makes it complete for me. Living for today doesn't have to be at the cost of foregoing the past and not understanding the presense of the future. After all tomorrow is just an awaiting today.
Happy living.

I try living in the present but love holding on to past too. My past has a few prescious family members whom I have lost and I love going to my past to connect with them again. It gives me happiness and warmth.

I have had enough, I have packed my bags and left yesterday, it's no good, it's pointless and it was just an empty place to be, I couldn't move on until I left my life in past. It's time to move on, it's just a shame other people can't let me move on and won't let me go! Getting an email from my ex yesterday didn't help it's been a year, why can't my ex forget me? Move on, like I am doing! I cannot change the past and I never want to go back to my past, today is all that matters, in this precarious world the future isn't worth thinking about either, live for today, we never know how many tomorrows we have left!

I live in the today....but sometimes I do look back to learn more about myself and make my today more productive....and sometimes I dream about the future to plan my today.
But more often than not, I live in the today and not think about the past or present too much.

I love today, I learn from yesterday, and I plan for tomorrow.

All of the above. there are some things of yesterday that is hard to put behind us and forget., like the passing of a loved one. I have to live for today because it is already here. I plan for tomorrow though because we have to make plans for our future.

I like to think, balasri, that I have a perfect balance of all three options. It is vital to us that we remember the past because that is our heritage. Living in the present goes without saying if you want to get by in this world. I dream of a better future for my grandchildren and great-grandchildren because they will inherit the problems and societal ills that have been forced upon them.

It is said that young people dream the future, adults cherish the present while the old people dwell in the past.
I spend more time on planning for the future, and try my best on the present work. So I think I am on the way to become an adult from a young people.
I do not want to think more about my past life, it will not bring me more good feelings.

Hi, Balasri!
Sometimes I think I can bring back myself to yesterday, just to learn from the past and see what I have done, but I am living in the present that is also almost in the future. I am not worried about the future, but I guess it's always best to prepare and plan ahead. What do you think? So, which one are you??

The response to my own discussion is I am living in the present.I am able to do so as I have learned my follies of the past and I have made all the arrangements of my future to the maximum. So I do not have to miss the present moments of glories and happiness. This very moment is the one I was dreaming of yesterday and will become history tomorrow.
