Are you afraid to see the doctor?

I am glad that I don't spend much to see the doctor. I live a healthy life and I don't go to the doctor. My friends tell me to visit the doctor but I refuse. I fear what the doctor might tell me. I have many friends who thought they are very healthy only to find out when they go to the doctor that they are sick with a serious disease. One friend of ours just died when she had severe head ache. They never knew what kind of illness she had. When I think of what the doctor might tell me, I freak out and refuse to go to the doctor. Everybody was advising me to go to the doctor so that I will know what kind of illness I have. Prevention is better than cure they say. Still I am reluctant to do so. Tell me please that you are feeling the same. Do you also fear the doctor and what he is going to tell you????? I know I'm too old to be feeling like this, but I just can't avoid it...

Nobody likes to go to see a doctor unless he's really ill. But most of the time we don't think it a serious thing and handle it by ourselves. But if you can't handle it, you'd better see the doctor, no matter how you feel.

Going to the doctor doesn't bother me. I think I have remained basically healthy. And I go for a yearly check up. I am sure there are people who don't go. With that and an apple a day I try my best to take care of myself. That includes regular visits.

No, and yes. I see my doctor quite often. But, I am afraid to get health screenings. Like Cancer and Diabetes and such. I don't have these diseases, but I am afraid to find out if I have this. I am glad to go to see what is going on with my body. It is the right thing to do.

I think you should go to the doctor, even if it is once a year for a check up. Your friends told you right. You should see a doctor for preventive health. I didn't like going to the doctor either. I was fine when I was younger. Now I have high blood pressure and the only way I found this out was through a health screening we had at work. I am on medication so I have to go to the doctor.

I had a bloodtest and everything was good, exept my colesteral.
So know i have an appointment next week that i'm gonna cancel because i feel better now.
I don't like to go to the doctor at all.

I think once you get to a certain age it is important to have checkups, I hhave never been a sickly person and hardlt ever went to the doctors but a couple of years ago a friend had a home blood pressure monitor and to test it out she tried it on me, she said it was giving a very hight reading for me so I went to the doctors to have it checked and my doctor told me I was so close to having a stroke, so now I am on high blood pressure tablets so i have to go to the doctors every six months..it is wise to be checked you never know....

My grandmother believed if she never went to the doctor then he couldn't tell her something was wrong. Sh never went to the doctor for over 50 years. Now she is in her late 80s and she gets regular check ups and sure enough, all sorts of stuff is now wrong with her. I don't personally mind going to the doctor, for a long time though I really disliked going to the dentist.
