May favorite art festival is in town this weekend. http://www.cottonwoodartfestival.com/ We enjoy festivals of all kinds in my family; art, music, food, beer, wine, you name it. A festival atmosphere is just good entertainment for us. This particular festival is my all time favorite that we attend. My husband and I have attended it for 20 years now of living in the Dallas area. I can remember carrying my son in one of those strap on carriers when he was only 3 weeks old. He slept, cuddled up to me heart the whole time while I enjoyed taking in all the art. We have many memories such as these of this festival. Is there something that you and your family have done traditionally for years? Tell us about it.

Every year my siblings and all their kids and grandkids stay together at a big cabin north of where I live. We have a card tournament with prizes.....tons to eat...water skiing....boat rides...and this year I had an under 10 kids tournament with prizes. We love it. I also like going to festivals when I can...most of the time I am a vendor though! But still really enjoy being part of them...love the food! LOL

Will you adopt me as a sibling, jillhill? That sounds like so much fun. The under 10 kids tournament . Great idea!

For the past three years, Notte Bianca has been held in Malta. It is a a celebration of art and culture. We have been attending it for the past three years. Streets are filled with musicians, artists and other performers. It is a nice feeling to be there each year.

Oh, a picnic is very nice too, cupid74. I know many people who do not like to spend time in crowds of people. That is understandable.

I am lucky, antiquelady. I know that. This is my favorite festival of all and I have gone to it several times by myself. Hubby and I would go on one day and I'd go the other day while he was playing soccer or something.

I do enjoy going to festivals. I have always foun dthem to be a great way to spend time with my kids. Espically when they are younger. I do hope when they get older that they pass on teh tradion to their kids. Myhusband on teh other doesn't liek to do anything with the family. So, I feel like a single mom when it comes to doing things liek that.

Hey there! I like going to festivals too. It's fun going to festivals. Here in the Philippines there are a lot of Festivals. Every region has their own festivals. The one that I like and enjoy the most is "Sinulog." It's a Mardi Grass, that gives praise to Senor Sto. Nino. They believe that their Sto. Nino is miraculous because way back during the times when Local Filipinos and Spaniards had a war the Filipinos burned a Spanish camp and miraculously the only thing that wasn't turned into ash is the Sto.Nino. That's why they always give praise to Sto.Nino. Viva Sto.Nino!! Pit Senor!! Happy posting!!
