Best technique - in studying

Remember our college days, well it's different for me, I was in so much pressure during high school years, all those stuffs I need to feed my mind was overwhelming. So most of us need to develop a studying technique, right? For me, I can efficiently study during the middle of the night up until dawn and cramming is a complete NO NO. If I cram, I'm screwed. One time that I cram, I got a failed mark in my quiz and the punishment was to make us run in the school yard. It was apparent to the higher levels that we failed since it's the trademark of our teacher. It was very embarrassing and luckily for me, I did not failed to the succeeding quizzes since I prepared a lot.
What do you consider the most effective studying method?

Well, I would consider the most effective method of studying is to study every day even just tidbits of your lessons for the day--this I missed when I was still a student.
I used to cram especially in subjects I don't like.
If a student at least read the day's lessons, it would be easy for her to familiarize with the theories and remember such on exam days.

That is a great advice. I have not applied that when I was still in school because I don't really have much time or probably I was so consumed with my tv viewing life. Wish I could turn back time.

I have a strong feeling that we cannot learn anything just by craming. And if we do then it is not of much use when it comes to application of that knowledge. One should clearly understand what the subject is about and the principles and terminology of the subject very clearly. If we have clear cut understanding about any subject, then we will be able to apply that knowledge whenever needed.
Some students do not have good ability to express their knowledge in the answer paper and so they are not able to secure good marks in the examination but they are more successful in their own field because of clear understanding and good knowledge of their subject.

One thing should all keep in mind is studying should come only on our interest. Unless our interest we cant study a single thing. We should enjoy studyig.Study with enthusiasm. It will help us to be ranked no.1. Just try to get more interest in studies. Automatically you will succeed.

I really want to know. I am not yet going to college. I am going to sit in exams soon. I would like to know some techniques. I hate cramming, but i do it all the time. I get so lazy.
