blanket and pillow goes together as sleeping mate, theres so much comfort lying your head on a pillow it is relaxing and you can actually sleep like a baby..i just dont know who came up with these idea of having a pillow in sleeping, of course there was record as early as the time of Christ when he told his follower that he has no pillow to lay his head..but where it was actually originated i think no one claim...how about you can you sleep well without a pillow?

I can't sleep without pillow. I have two pillow. One is for my head and one to for my arms. I like sleeping with pillow. Having pillow definitely let me sleep like a baby. I can sleep for long hours and no noise can make me up. Without pillow, I can't have a good sleep. I will have pain on my neck if I don't use pillow.

Yea, and in one Bob Marley song he claims to have used a rock. Lol! I dont think that was true. But i know at times where a pillow wasnt available to me i will take my jacket or a blanket and roll it up. Something under the knogen is far better than nothing.

I don't sleep with a pillow and have a hard time trying to fall asleep on one. I started years ago when I hurt my back. Laying flat on the floor was the only relief. Ever since, I don't like a pillow.
It doesn't seem natural to sleep on one it feels like my head is up in the air. I especially don't like them when I sleep in a Motel. I can't even sleep because all I can think about is, whose head was on it before mine and if they washed the case and when they last washed the pillow. I take my own blankets to Motels too.
And oh, those pillows on the airplanes, yuck. They don't even have a case on them, I have seen people sleep with their face all mushed in them. I know for sure they don't wash them after each flight. No thanks, I'll go without.

I can sleep even without a pillow on my head. I used to do this before during the time that I was trying to cure my neck and low back pain. A friend of mine is a chiropractor and he told me that one reason for having neck and low back pain is due to poor spinal posture while sleeping. Having more than one pillow under your head could create a lot of back problems. He said If I could sleep without pillows it would be a lot better but if I can't at least limit the pillow to one.

I believed him because he is a chiropractor. He also said that the higher the pillow the greater the spinal damage. So As much as possible I try to just limit my pillow to one and if I can, none at all. It's pretty hard at first especially when you're used to having more than pillow but soon you'll find it comfortable. It's just a matter of getting used to.

I prefer to sleep on a medium sized foam pillow, not too fat and not too flat. However, if I am having sinus trouble and coughing alot at night, I have to lay flat on the bed, which means no pillow. That way, there's less coughing. So, if I have to do it, I can sleep without a pillow. But, I do prefer to sleep on a pillow.

sorry to hear that you have sinus once in a while...sickness just wont get a distant from us...i was having also cold right now and i got some teary eyes because of runny nose...it seems that water keeps on flowing out of my nose and makes me sneeze often times...anyway thank you for the response and its true that most of us prefer sleeping with a pillow that suits our own need of comfort...

I can, and I have, but I prefer not to do so. I have put my arms under my head in lieu of a pillow when none was available. Pillows are older than Christ, they used them in ancient China.

I can sleep without a pillow - like when I go to sleep in the car or on the couch sitting up. However, when it is bedtime, and we are talking about quality sleep, then I like to have a pillow. Rolled up towels, t-shirts, or any makeshift pillows will suffice, but i do like my head propped up.

hi.
Yes I can sleep without a pillow if my bed is soft like a cushion.
I came from a poor family. When I was a child me and my family sleeps on the floor with one pillow each. We sleep on a mat only with mosquito net. I am used to sleep on the hard floor. But when we already can afford a foam or a cushion, for sure it is comfortable to the point that I don't want a pillow anymore. But I still use pillow but not for my head. Sometimes for my head but most of the time, my feet which is always tired in everyday's work.
Happy myLotting.

thanks for the response friend.. you remind me when i was a kid..we used to sleep just like what you have mention minus the mosquito net.. but life is so simple back then not like now where there are lot of things to consider having to say that life is good and better...well i think sleeping with your pillow on your feet is the way you have find comfort in sleeping anyway if that makes you feel much better than having it on your head then thats very comforting i think...

I can't sleep without a pillow. If I slept without one, I would wake up with a headache and my neck hurting really bad. Does make you wonder when the first pillow was made or even used. I can sleep without a blanket if it's hot, but I can't without a pillow. I just got a new pillow thats made for people that sleep on their sides. Ever since I had my youngest I can't sleep on my stomach or my back any more without waking up not feeling my legs or extremely painful back pains.

i definitely can sleep without a pillow. think about times that i'm really tired, i basically slept everywhere. i've slept sitting on a chair, with my head on the table. i've slept on pavements and grass patches. however, the sleep is not comfortable. if i have a choice, i definitely want to have a pillow. preferably one pillow for my head and a bolster or two pillows for hugging. cheers ;p

I can't sleep without my pillow! Wherever I am sleeping, I need my pillow with me. I don't know why but I can't sleep comfortably without it so I am making sure that I have it with me if I have to sleep somewhere else. As fort the blanket, I can sleep without it especially if it is a hot night.
