How do you define "best friend"?

Best friend is a common term used by everyone and actually I am surprised with how some of my friends select their own best friends. I have a friend who found a best friend overnight after a long drinking session where she felt so comfortable talking to the lady. Some of my friends have "best friendsss" as in more than 10 best friends and I wonder shouldn't be best friend is just one or maybe just a handful instead of calling almost everyone as your best friends?
So how do your define best friend?
For me I have two best friends as they are always together with me when I am ups and downs. I am so comfortable with them and I have 100% trust on them. I feel they are like a part of my life. They are even sometimes so much closer than my own siblings.

I agree with you. Your term of best friends suit me. However, i have found one yet.

Well to me Best Friend isnt a common word, to me friend is a common word. For me a Best Friend is someone I trust with everything, if you can get to that point with me, then you have to be someone that is short of amazing if not amazing. I have 2 of those. I wouldnt trade them for anyone in the world. I know they are there for me no matter what and they know that I will be there for them, day or night.

The expression "best friend" means lots of things:
starting from the ways of acting and ending by traitements between the two people
So if you wanna define what is a best friend ,I can tell you that it is the the most comprehensable person who understands the most of what you do and shares with you the same mentions.

When me and my best friend met I did not like her at all we were in a class together and we had partner work and I was hoping not to get grouped with her and of course I am. But I am so glad that it happened that way if it weren't for that them I would have never been friends with her. She is my best friend because we both have the same stupid sense of humor and I can always count on her. I am not close to my family and i feel like I have found a sister someone who I can tell just how crazy i am and who is just as crazy as I am. I can cry in front of her and not feel awkward. So a best friend is someone you feel completely comfortable around and not worry about them judging you.
