Walls at home: one color or several?

I live in a house where there are several colors the walls are painted with. The doorways and the living room are painted in a pale yellow, and then every room is painted with a different color. My room is painted in white. The room upstairs is painted in purple, and another one in pale dark red. Then the kitchen is orange, and the garage is also white. What are your preferences in this? Do you like painting each room at home with a different color, or do you prefer using the same color everywhere?

Well, one room is pink, but mostly covered with book cases. One is so pale a blue it might as well be white, and 2 are purple, but slightly different shades. the 2 baths are papered, but I wish they were painted now, the rest is white, of various shades of "whiteness" tho they all started out the same. (thank you cats)

Lucky you. My dream is to have one room with nothing but a big comfy chair and bookcases (:

I live in a rented townhouse, and every wall and door in the place is the same eggshell white colour. It's rather bland and boring, that's for sure. I prefer the look of homes painted in various colours. Especially rooms that have more than one wall colour... ones that compliment each other of course. I like the deep colours, like brown and burgandy and forest green. I've considered painting my home, but I don't plan on staying here for more than 2 or 3 years, so why spend the money? I'd rather use it to decorate my new home.

I like each room being a different color. We're in the process of painting our house. So far, we have the kitchen, hallway, and bathroom done. The kitchen and hallway are done in a sea like green and the bathroom is a cream&brown color. Our living room is panel at the moment, but, we're planning on painting it an off-white color. My parents bedroom and mine are the same - white with this light tan sponge marks. My brothers bedroom is black. I think I'm going to paint mine a deep red or a dark pink. I don't know what my parents or my brother are going to do with theirs.

My house was built back in the 70's and it is paneled all the way through. I think now they have discontinued using paneling, saying it is a fire hazard. So all of my walls are brown paneling color. I like it that way, I don't have to worry about painting.

We live in an apartment and all the walls are painted that beige or off white as they call it. I hate it, my hubby is always wanting to paint the walls a different color. I always wanted a room with a brick red or something like that. Maybe the bedroom or the kitchen. I think yellow would be a good color for a bedroom. A friend of mine painted her walls a toupe color and it was really nice looking. I put up border or wall paper to take away the same color. I guess when you own apartments this color is cheaper to use, some will let you paint, others won't. My landlord said that I could paint my bathroom like my daughters. I guess some just like all the same but it drives me nuts. Or at least make a color that is pretty, instead of this dull color.

i think it looks better when walls in a room have the same color. it looks neat and pleasing to the eyes. you can use different colors for different rooms though.

our house was just newly painted, and we have chosen four colors for the entire house. Chocolate brown for the roof, exterior walls are painted with light brown (closed to skin tone color) combined with white for the mouldings, and pale yellow for the interior walls including the rooms. i don't like too many colors, the elegance of your house will be lost, and it would be nice if we apply color coordination in a house. even my furnitures, i chose colors that coordinates with the paints. my furnitures are all chocolate brown and it looks great with the pale yellow paint.
