Have you ever lost money in your house?

One time, I lost $200 that I'd been planning
to use on a big bill. I had taken it out, so that
I could buy a money order.
Next thing I knew the money was gone.
Anyway, I looked everywhere and later found
the money in the cabinet.
I guess someone must have seen the money and put
it up for safe keeping.
Have you ever lost money in your house?
Did you find it later?

I lost money a couple of times before inside my house. We were still renting then and the biggest amount that I lost was the payment for our monthly rent. Good for you beautyqueen that you found it. As for me, I didn't able to find it. Upon learning it, my husband flared up and asked everyone who lives with us. Well, my in-laws lived with us for years until we decided to transfer to our own home. The only thing that I told them when I lost the money was "God knows who you are and what you did".

You think they took the money?
That is very possible, I suppose.

Yes, it's very sad when family steals
from each other.
Your sister in law should be very ashamed, dhangski!
I would never speak to her again.
But, that's just me.

There are times I misplace my money, but I do find it later too. I know I ought to be responsible more about this. Sometimes I get too comfortable knowing that only my family members are in the house, so I shouldn't worry about losing anything at all. However, on those instances when we keep large amount of money allotted for certain bills, I am pretty conscious about where to keep the money. The last thing I'd like to do is to forget where I kept the money to pay the rent or whatever.. especially when it's already due!

I lost a refund check that the hydro company had sent me. I ended up having to call them bending the truth and telling them I'd spilled coffee on the check, and could they send me a new one. They did, I cashed it, I found and shredded the old one. No better way to find something than to get a replacement.

I don't know the amount of money that I have lost in terms of dollars but, what was disappointing about losing that big amount was that I made a great deal of effort on keeping it aside until something important comes up.
It happened when I left home with my sister and mom to go to different churches.. some activity that we do annually. We got back at home and it wasn't until a few days later when I realized that the money I had set aside went missing.. I know someone took it but, up to now, no one is admitting it.
Anyway, its just money.. (-_- )

Well, sort of. I had maye 80 bucks in my drawer. One day, I only had about 30. I was freaking out. How much could I have spent in such a short time? But I had spent 30 bucks at the mall with food and for the birthday presents, 8 bucks for a shirt, so with tax and everything that should have been around 40, then I could have spent more at some other outing, so it makes perfect sense. But .. it shouldn't!

If I lose money I just end up forgetting that I put it somewhere and completely forgetting that I have money around period. Then, when I find it I suddenly remember that I had money that I was planning on doing something with. My mom is bad with the losing money thing but she has gotten a bit better at keeping it in one location so it doesn't get too lost.

I once lived with a thieving roomate. I used to hide things from her all the time, until she moved out. One month, she gave me her part of the rent early. I went and hid it in an old pair of slippers that my g-pa used to wear when I was little( I got them when he passed). I went about my business for the next year and when I was cleaning out my closet, I found it!! Woohoo!! I get to go shopping, until the doorbell rang and I put it somewhere and didn't find it for about a month. I then spent it before I could lose it-on Guess what?? Lottery tickets. I lost it anyways :( LOL

Oh yes I have done this. Once I had a $50 bill that I wanted to keep for something and stuck it in a planner behind the pages and forgot about it. I was cleaning up and getting ready to throw the old planner out and was tearing out pages and things and the $50 slipped out from behind the cover jacket where I had it Whew! I almost burned it in the trash. I was really happy to have found it and right at time I needed extra cash.

The only time I ever lost money in my house was a few years ago when my eldest son developed a case of sticky fingers! I know that I put a laugh in at the beginning, but you know it hurt me quite deeply, he started doing it at about 9 years old. I had a tin that I saved money in and we had really hard times then, so this tin was like a treat tin and I would put money in it only to find when I counted it a large chunk was missing. It was not a nice stage he went through at all and I can only hope that my other children do not go through it.

I have lost money in my house before. I search every corner but i didnt find it. I suspected someone took it but i dont have proof so i just let it go. I was sad at first since that is my allowance! but i guess bad things happen sometimes. Since then i no longer put money in drawer or anyplace inside the house. I put it in my bag and place my bag in my room. After that incident i no longer lost any valuable item or money.

This is one of my worst habits losing money especailly around the house. The amount of times i've been out shopping or for a night on the town and in my speed to get away from the till or bar i've just thrown my money in a random pocket of my trousers or skirts...only to come across that money about three months later realising where it has gone. The worst thing is putting loose coins in my clothes as I often forget their there and when I go to pick up clothing I hear jingling as all money rolls out pocket and scatters all over the floor.
Tidying up is another problem as things get moved and forgotten about. Once came across a purse filled with £20 notes one day while I routed through things I couldn't even remember I owned.
