How much should you really eat?

I find that we genearlly tend to over eat and keep eating tillour stomach is full. I used to really eat like mad. I would eat up what ever my wife cooked and she started making a little extra. I would polish off that extra quantity of food too. Then one day I heard a discourse by a yoga Guru Swami Ramdev on TV. he said 'Your stomachs say "he feeds me more than he shakes me" and my stomach says "He shakes me more than he feeds me" that is why you put on weight and I don't.' How true. We really tend to fed thestomachall sorts of things but do not give it any exercise. Sicne then I reduced my diet and cut it down by half and doubled my exercise. Now I feel fitter and more energetic than before.

I eat once or twice a day since I would rather have the groceries last. There are times (maybe once a month) and I will go out to a buffet as a treat and then that's when I pig out. Since it's rare, having that kind of food makes me feel better about life- and having a full tummy once a month isn't that bad.

Yea even i eat as like im not going to eat for tomorrow sometimes but i dont do it every time, one day i too heard in tv from a serial that , one knight says to other knight that we should consume food less than what we usually consume , i mean to say that if we are hungry , we should eat and feel some emptiness in our stomach and that gap should always be left otherwise we tend to put on weight and that results in tummy..

Sometimes we overeat more than what is really needed by the body. When you discipline yourself and start eating just the right amount of food youll notice that your stomach will get full easily and you no longer crave for more. But if you teach yourself to a unhealthy habit of eating your stomach still feels hungry even though the truth is you have overeat already. And all those food stored inside you turns into fat. Instead of making use of the food as energy. That is how a lot of people gain weight and become obese. Exercise can help too but if you still eat the same amount of food everyday. Tendencies are you will gain weight inspite the fact that you exercise daily.

dear what i do is that i eat three times a day and i sometimes i miss the breakfast because i have to rush to university. but the other two meals i eat i usually do not eat to the fullest and i leave my stomach a bit less then full and that helps it in easily digestion and then i have enough time to get over and eat the next meal. yoga is a very good exercise and i can really help and calm your body and you feel mre energetic. to be honest i don't exercise regularly but i do go on cycling ever saturday and sunday mornings and nothing else than few push-ups. good luck to you!

Eat enough so that there is still place for desert. There are so many theories around but we must realise that everone is different and what works well for me won't work well for you. Also remember our metabolism slows down as we grow older. To eat the right foods is imperative. Exercise often. Walking, swimming and running are good vascular exercise. Drink water. The colder the water the less we weigh. Drinking cold water force to body to generate heat to bring the water to body temperature. It burns our fat to generate heat and thus we weigh less. Do cold water in moderation please.

i think we have to eat moderately... i try to eat just enough... not too full and not hungry as well... it is not good for our stomach if we eat too much as we make it works harder to digest the food... and i also feel nauseous if i eat too much... take care and have a nice day...

Yes, very true! Many people love eating but despise exercising. I know a lot of time and I have more than once reminded them that they will be reaping the fruit of overeating someday soon. Our stomach needs substantial shaking so that it will work best in digesting the food. But come to think of it most people who overeats are the ones who are lazy to exercise. A regular exerciser actually can restrain his appetite. That is my personal experience. I eat only up to what my stomach needs because I am a regular exerciser. I therefore have no problem with bulges or unwanted pounds even at my age. I also do not have hypertension or diabetes or any chronic illness unlike my contemporaries. It's actually the food we put inside our body that cause a lot of health problems in us. Most people are heavy on fatty, salty, sweets and junks and have no exercise, hence they die young!

The stomach should remain partly empty. Let half of the stomach be full with food, one fourth with water and let one fourth remain vacant, so that digestion will not be difficult.

According to the medical saying,we should not eat too full.On the other hand,we should do more exercises. That will help our body to be healthy and strong.Eating too much can make our heart get extra burden. As we are getting older, the disease will come and we'll suffer a lot.

I used to eat everything in sight and I had a little belly fat that wasn't really supposed to be there, though it wasn't too bad. Now I eat until I feel comfortable, and only eat when I am hungry; I also make sure that what I eat is good for me and natural, not made up of chemicals and things that the body can't digest, or should not digest... Now I weigh a lot less and my body looks great, it seems like my immune system is a lot better now as well, it takes a lot for even a common cold to get to me, and I have not had any type of stomach illness for the past two years, and before then I used to get sick more often. My body feels good, and I also look really good, life is wonderful, by just doing those small steps I am sure I added years onto my life, I can feel it. Healthy decisions with what you eat can really make a difference in your life for the better, it's so easy to do once you get the hang of it, you just have to cleanse yourself from the toxins that are in so many foods and learn how to control your eating when you aren't hungry... Exercise helps as well, though what you put into your body is what is most important, you can get your exercise by daily activities.

yeah eating and exercise go together. i eat but not that much and dont exercise at all and im pretty well ok. i dont eat breakfast or lunch i have to wait till the evening when im really hungry. i have stomach problems that cause me not to eat and if i eat to much it all comes back. so my eating habits are just right for me. just someone else is just right for them.

I have watched from the tv something about the phrase "hara hachi bu" which means eighth part of the stomach. It suggest that we do not fill the 100% of our stomach in every meal.

I eat so mutch but I don't get fat , no exercises but the solution is in activities , any kind of activities help the body to get his balances equally ,I make my brain working every day in resolving some equations ,generally the usification of power depends on the usification of caluries ,as mutch we think as mutch the body uses eneregy as muthc caluries get lost as mutch we keep our selves healthy,it's an equation too,I don't advice people to do not do sport ,sport it's also very helpful,it helps the body to get stronger agaisnt any dangers ,and give it the ability to defend itself. So do sport or other activities but do not still inert.
