Hello nutanjain. Yeah, I know some simple cooking. Sometimes I do the cooking for the three of us in the family though in most cases it is my wife who does the cooking. But I also prefer to do it for a practice. It is good that I can do some cooking though not as tasty as the food my wife cooks. I am still happy for it.

Yes i know cooking which is enough for me to stay alive when i will stay away from my family. I can prepare drinks like tea, coffee, all types of fruit juices. And foods like Biryani, indian gravy, kadai paneer, chana masala, green peas masala,Chinese dishes like Paneer Chilly,Paneer Schewan,Fried Rice,Noodles, soups, sweets like Gulab jamun, normal soft cakes, baked dishes like Cookies,Pan Pizza,Sandwiches including Club ones and grilled ones and some more. You must be thinking that I used to go some cooking classes. But you do u know the real thing, I learned all these thing by myself. Some foods when I tried it in Hotels, I came to know how was it prepared by its taste. I had interest to cook food, so i mastered it. See, if you have interest in anything, see can easily achieve it. If no interest in particular thing, then no use of trying it. This is wat i feel. However, this is just my interest or you can say a hobby but not career. I love aircrafts and thus wanna go in that field. Wat bout u? Do u like cooking?????

I know how to cook but not very good in cooking. I can cook few dishes but don't look so good. I usually cook for myself. I don't mind how it look like as long it can be eat. I agree that, practice make perfect. Practice cooking will make the cooking become more better. Learning from mistake are the way to learn.

Like in all things practice, practice, practice. The more you attempt to cook the better you get. Find some trusted recipes from your family and friends and follow them exactly. After you've been cooking for a year or two you will start to realize what ingredients taste good together. Once you feel comfortable I would suggest making small alterations to your trusted recipes. Eventually you will be able to start creating recipes of your own. Don't be discouraged. Cooking is learned. Nobody is born with this skill, so don't give up!
Good luck and happy mylotting.

well, i dont like cooking but i know how. just in case i have to, i would usually prepare the ingredients im going to cook before going somewhere like work. for example, if the chicken is still frozen, i'll put on the chill section of the ref it before going to work. most of the time, i cook only those that are easy, like 30-minute meal. i cook adobo because that's easy. or spaghetti! that's just me! :) as long as the ingredients are prepared before cooking, i can cook it in no time. :)

Hi,
since I'm Chinese, I know some Chinese dishes, and I can cook, I learn it from my Mum.
M y Mum is great, she can do almost all the dishes I know, and they are delicious, now I study at university, and I cann't eat them,I miss them so much, and I miss myMum too.
The stewed chicken with the mushroom,m y Mum can do it with the most delicious taste, and I can cook it, even though I can't do it as good as Mum.

nutanjain, perhaps a little modern country cooking will help.first get you a one pound bag of carrots about two pounds of small potatoes and one white onion.then get you one pound of ground beef.now take the potatoes, carrots, and onion and peel the outerskin off of the potatoes and rinse them off with water and lay them on a towel to dry then scrape your carrotsouterskin off and rinse them off, next take your potatoes and slice them longways inhalf then lay them in about a four quart pot then put your carrots inwith them then peelthe onion then set it on a solid surface and chop it up not real fine but in chunks then put it in with the potatoes and carrots now add about a quart of water set it on the stove and set it on medium so they can start cooking now give them alittle while to cook say about an hour but keep check on them so they don't run out of water. just take a spoon and touch the carrots when they start to feel soft they are done.just turn the eye off and let them set. now take your groundbeef and roll it into four separate balls and then flatten them to look like hamburger patties now place them on a shallow pan and put them in the oven at 350 degrees and let cook then when you see that they are just about done turn your potatoes, carrots, onion back on high so they can warm back up.now when the patties are done take them out and drain the grease off very carefully not down the sink into a bowl or something.now turn the stove off, drain the pot with vegtables then get you four plates and place one patty on each one and cover with the vegtables and you can add steak sauce if like and there you go a meal for four with meat and vegtables.happy eating scroller1

Well, I am sure you won't be expecting a good reply from a guy bcoz guys are hardly good at cooking.
Talking about myself, I don't know cooking. I can hardly prepare noodles for myself and a cup of tea. I stay away from home, and infact, i should have learnt cooking to make it easier for me, and i even tried one day to learn cooking from my mother, but then i gave up int he middle of a process. there were so many things to remember while cooking and so many tasks, so i gave up.
i stay with my friends in a rented house. we are 5 people in together and guess only one of us know cooking, that too only a bit.
But my brother has learnt cooking. He stays abroad and alone and i have never got an opportunity to taste the food cooked by him, but i have heard that he has started cooking for himself.. So, i guess I can check out his skills once he comes back to India. LOL

Pick dishes you know how to make or practice making the dish ahead of time before you have company. I make a roast when I have company and I use the slow cooker for that. I will take a beef roast and put it in the slow cooker in the AM around 8-10 with some salt and pepper. I will let it cook all day then I will added carrots, potatoes, and other fresh veggies and let them cook down. I will add them around three because it will take a few hours for the veggies to cook down. This makes a nice hardy meal. A lot of friends usually does not have roasts and they do love them.

Start out with something simple and easy and work from there. If you enjoy cooking it isn't that hard to learn. If you have a friend that enjoys cooking then maybe the two of you could get togeather once a week and practice cooking different things that way you enjoy yourself and learn at the same time.

cooking has always been my passion... i've started to learn the skill when i was 20 and it makes me happy when people appreciate my effort in preparing meals everyday. I know that i don't have enough skill to cook restaurant-type dishes that's why i have this thought of enrolling myself to one of the famous culinary schools in the south... i can't wait to learn new cuisines...
