According to people around me, it seems more and more girls are not able to cook them.
Cooking, being taken as one basic skills of woman in China, now seems not popular any more.
At the same time, more and more boys are good at cooking nowdays.
that's really a interesting changing.
i asked some girls why they couldn't cook. their answers are quite suprises to me.
they say: if i am good at cooking, then, after marriage it must be me who do all the cooking.so if i am not able, it won't be me.
Ooooooops, in order to not cook after marriage ,u would like give up this skills??
that's really a little unworthy at all.
how do u think of this question?
who gonna be the cooker in ur family?
woman or man??
thank you for sharing

Cooking use to be one the traits that I used to look for it a woman. It would be nice if she knows how to cook but not a prerequisite to marraige. You'll get a lot of bonus points if your a guy and knows how to cook

I am the cook in my family and it is a very big chore. The cooking itself is not a chore, it is all the cleaning up you have to do afterward that make me not want to cook. Plus every time I do cook my hubby wants so many dishes ever time. I grew up on casseroles and one pot type dinners. Very easy and no problem but since I have been married I have to become a full time cook for old fashion husband.
I don't think the girls are afraid of being the ones who have to be the one to cook all the meals. I feel they are afraid of what I have to do, which is cook a lot of different dishes at every meal and have to clean up after each time.

I think the life things like cooking and cleaning and all aspects of life should be taught at school to boys and girls, even classes on marriage and financial things, people should learn these things and not go out into the wide world unprepared...

I'm the cooker in our family. my mom raised me that the girl was supposed to do all the cooking and cleaning and the guy would do the yard stuff. I don't stick to that completely though. I do the cooking because i liked to cook. my husband helps out around the house and i help do stuff outside. my sister can't cook. she was just never interested in learning how. and i think too she is a little lazy on that issue. she found herself a husband who can cook and does a lot of the stuff in their relationship.
