do you think babies do it?

My 3 month old was sleeping lastnight when I went to bed. She was making all kinds of noises, grunting and groning. She kept her eyes closed the entire time but her bottom lip kept getting bigger and her top lip just disapeared, she was really pouting. She never even moved. This went on for about an hour. She had to be dreaming, it's the only explanation I could think of. What do you think babies dream about? Do they dream? What do you think would cause a baby to have a bad dream?

I'm not sure but to my knowledge babies do dream :) I still remember my sister's kids sometimes used to cry suddenly while sleeping as if they dreamt of something really weird. And sometimes they'd smile so gently :) my grandmother wud say that god will come in babies dreams and will make them smile it seems. Don't know how far it's true but to my knowledge babies also dream :):)

Yeah, I think babies dream as well. My psychology prof explained that even babies have their own subconsciousness, even when inside the womb. That's why there's an instance of regression to old people. SO I really think they dream. Plus my nephew when he is a year old is dreaming already. What they are dreaming of I have no idea.

Thanks for the info from your professor. It's nice to know she really is dreaming. I just hope it's good dreams and not bad ones.

hi camomom I think if young kids dream babies must also' dream. I have seen my own when they were really little make souonds, and move their lips like they were dreaming and I thought why they are just dreaming. One time my son was sucking like he had a bottle but he was sound asleep. lol.

My daughter does that too. I wonder sometimes if she's hungry while she's sleeping. They are so cute when they do that.

Babies! Can you just imagine those tiny little minds growing and learning and NOT dreaming? I think we all should try and be as pure of heart as those precious little children are and we could find ourselves having more sweet dreams. It's with the innocence of a child that we find our faith and hold on to the values that really matter.

You're right, they have to be dreaming right? We should all try to be as pure and innocent.

Of course they dream. Probably about their mom, probably not elaborate things, probably very simple. Warmth and cold and bright and dark.

That makes sense. I hope she dreams nice things about me and her daddy and her siblings.

I am sure that babies dream,as do animals,my alsatian dog often twitches and grunts and groans ,he is away with the fairies enjoying his dreams, but how and why and what they dream remains a mystery.I am sure that there is an expert in childcare/childhood that would be able to tell you more, maybe its worth looking up on the internet.

Maybe I will try to look it up. I hadn't thought of that. My cat does that also so I guess all living things dream.
