What's so wrong with Sarah Palin?

Seems many people online (not just at Mylot)
HATE Sarah Palin.
So, here's a chance to tell me what's wrong with her.
It's one thing to say that you hate someone, but you
need reasons and I want to hear them.
To be fair can you see ANYTHING that Palin
has done that was worthy of note?
Some people say, she's not qualified to be Vice President.
But, is she any less qualified than Dan Quayle when he
became George Bush Sr. Vice President?
I'll admit that I don't know lots about her political
policy or philosophy.
What's your thoughts. What are your gripes with Sarah Palin.
Let me know why she is the WRONG choice for Vice President.
Or, the right choice.

She's not a democrat. Democrats feel that while men are allowed to be members of either party, women are not. Women who are republicans are expected to stay at home barefoot and pregnant. Being a successful professional woman, who is also republican, is a violation of the feminist code. Ask Madonna for any clarification you may need.

Well, I'm happy that Palin is presenting
a different, more professional view of feminism.
Perhaps she is not a liberal but even
a conservative mom can be a Republican.
Thanks for your comments.

Not all Rebuplicans have those same views. I am republican/conservative and I support Sarah Palin.
Heck, even though it's rare, there are rebuplicans who support freedom of choice.

Yeah! I thought I was the only one.
I'm more Republican than Democrat,
but still believe that freedom of choice
is essential. Once the government starts
chipping away at our rights, we'll be no
better than Iran.
And, I think what a woman does with her
own body is her own dang business and none
of mine!
Heck, I don't want the job of policing
a woman's ovaries!
I have enough trouble keeping up with mine.
(P.S. I mention Iran as an example cause years ago,
the Shaw mandated that all married women have
seven children.
Many of those children ended up in the streets
and orphanages cause the families could no longer
care for them.
A woman is a human, not a cat.
We can't keep having litters we can't support.
But that's another topic!)

Her stance on abortion and contraception annoys the crap out of me. It is a woman's right to choose what she does with her body, and if there is a new human being growing in there, it's only because some MAN who doeesn't have to worry about what happens next, PUT IT THERE!!! If it was a mutual decision on equal part of both woman and man that she gets pregnant, there would be no need to seek an abortion.

There are some couples
that use two or more forms
of birth control.
That usually brings the number closer
to 100% effective!

OH man, if its one pet peeve its men getting woman pregnant and being able to walk away free with absolutely no responsbility. What kind of example is that--its horrible. I believe men should be held MUCH MORE accountable then they are for pregnancies. There is a lot of misguided young woman getting pregnant and left to scrape for pennies on their own or just purely dysfuntional females who will get pregnant just to be accepted. Still doesn't make it right that a man gets to walk away free.

CLOSE still isn't 100%... I can't feel any more strongly about this... because 2 of my children were concieved when I assumed it would be completely impossible. I don't regret it of course!

I don't see anything wrong with her myself. I think it is the idea of there being a woman Vice President that some people don't like. As a matter of fact there was a customer that is from Alaska that my mom cut his hear and he said that people didn't like the idea of losing her as there govoner in Alaska. I think she would go great myself.

I agree it is a new breaking grounf for a female to be Vice President if McCain wins. I have heard her talk on tv and I just like what all she is for and against. I hope she wins with mcCain. I think that she wil be a great help for McCain myself. I also feel like a female would be great to have in charge of the United States for once of at least to be the Vice President.

I hate to be one of those people
that say, "I'd vote for her just cause
she is a woman."
But I would!
Women are seriously in need of a leg up in
politics.
I'd like to think that Palin is breaking
the ground for my own daughter when she
is old enough to be President!
By then, it won't seem like such a foreign concept
in America.

She is republican, which I think is why people have a hard time accepting her. She is very conservative, and that goes against the liberal stereotype of women in politics (think Hilary). But I don't see that as a reason to hate her. People just pick her apart and find every little thing to criticize about her, which really isn't fair. She's not the most eloquent public speaker, but she is also under a lot of pressure, so that is not helping.
I don't hate her. I think perhaps McCain could have chosen someone with more experience, but heck- Obama has less than a year of experience, so she's even got him beat. I really don't know why so many people are unwilling to give her a chance. She deserves that much.

The levels of experience are different. Sarah Palin has 8 years of executive experience. Obama has 0 years of executive experience. There is also the issue that Obama is running for President, Palin is running for vice president. Their responsibilities are MUCH different.

True, there is a big difference in their levels of experience, not just years. Also a good point about the different positions for which they are running. President is obviously a position with much more responsibility, which makes experience all the more important.

I would imagine that Palin's detractors
are more scared that four years as Vice President
would adequately train her for the job
of President.
They don't like the idea of her busting
into the good ol' boys club!

It does seem like there are lots of folks that do not like her, mainly because she has no real experience in foreign policies. But, so what? Neither do the people we elect as President half the time. That's why they have advisors and Cabinet members, to help them figure things out
I like Palin. She's the only one of the group that looks good in high heels ![](/Content/images/emotes/lol.gif)

From what I hear, the current
President had little foreign policy
experience when he was elected
and literally got through debates
by saying, "I agree with him!"
when asked questions about foreign policy.
That's what I've heard anyway.
I think her lack of experience
has nothing to do with why people
REALLY hate her.

I don't hate Sarah Palin (unlike the crowds that she has been egging on at their rallies), I just think that she isn't qualified to be vice president, or president. If she was running on the democratic ticket, it might not be as bad because Barack is younger, but McCain is 72, and who knows what can happen at that age. She also has no problem at all lying to the American people, and when she is faced with questions about it, she just says that we didn't understand what she was saying. Her answers to many questions during interviews, and the debate were complete unacceptable from any public offical. She couldn't name one paper that she read two weeks ago, but today she is quoting the New York Times. How is that? Her husband is way to connected in the government in Alaska, and I think most Americans are uncomfortable, many in Alaska say that he has a huge role in the day to day opporations of the state. Something just doesn't smell right about this.

Your argument that she is too inexperienced is just stupid if you are supporting Obama. She has just as much experience as he does and she has executive experience. If you really cared about experience that much you wouldn't be supporting Obama.
Obama's had no problem lying to the American people so I don't see where that is relevant.
Did it bother you at all when Bill Clinton allowed Hillary to have an excessive role in the day to day operations of the country? I agree that the spouses shouldn't have such a significant role as it creates a conflict of interests, but Bill set the precedent for it as being just fine so long as they aren't paid.

Yea, what is up with that! Thats not cool for her husband to be trying to play a role in politics where he has none and Palin should not be allowing him or at least putting her foot down farther. If Palin were to make it into office and her Husand tried to play it the same way you can be sure I will be screaming off the highest mountain--get him out of there!

I do not hate Palin since I do not know her personally. She just is not my preference for a VP. I do not agree with her stance on women's rights concerning abortion or with her views on the aerial wolf killings. I do not care for how she pronounces nuclear as NUKE U LAR either. I heard enough of nuclear being mispronounced over the past eight years. I was also an English major so that is a quirk I do not care for. I just see her as another politician more or less.

I think some people HATE her because she is a woman who could possibly take over a mans role in such a high place in government and that kind of change scares people. Some don't want to see her there just like some don't want to see a man of a different race taking the seat of the president it's just too much of a change for some so they lash out and try to discredit Palin and Obama. If Obama was white I wonder how that would be playing out now, or if Palin was a male how would that be playing out now. I sometimes find myself trying to find fault in both of them and then I make myself stop and think that I am only doing it because I might be scared of that kinda of change.

I know she hunts which I disgaree with but from what Ive read this whole "hockey mom" thing has annoyed some people as well. It just comes across as a little fake I think.

I agree with you their is nothing wrong with her as far as I am conserned. I think it is just everyone is scared of here. They are worried that she will show the men in government up and prove that maybe for once a woman can work just as effectivly in govenment as a man can. They are just jelliouse of her because they are not in the drivers seat where she is.

When election times come around, everyone is going to find a reason to hate somebody. There are an equal number of people who hate Obama or his running mate who's name escapes me at the moment.
I was worried about some of the things I've heard about Palin, mostly her views on animal rights, because I'm a huge animal rights activist. But you have to go for the lesser of 2 evils when it all boils down to it. Pick the issues that are most important to you and vote for the one who best supports those issues.

Well - I've never understood how people could place the value of an animal over a baby - we'll fight to save the animals, but cut the baby out of the womb, and dump it in the nearest trash can. Of course if we can refer to it as a 'fetus' - that should soothe our conscienc somewhat. I don't understand this thinking at all.
If one doesn't want to get pregnant - don't mess around. It's amazing how today's society 'just can't help theirselves.' What a crock! what kind of wimps have we become over the years? The human desire - lusty feelings or whatever one wants to term it, isn't any different now than when I was young. We have the ability to not go from one situation to another, and have Lord knows how many innocent babies, with different fathers.
We've become so lazy where this is all concerned. What ever happened to old fashion responsibility? It's not taught any more, because we just would rather let some teacher teach our kids, and we have no idea of what that teacher espouses. Not only that - but this program of starting to teach the full program to little kids in kindergarden? Good grief - how insane!
Having said all of that - I can well understand Mrs. Palin's concern on the educational classes, which really just tell the kids that all is well, so just Go For It!
And - I blame the biased media and the far left hate mongers with their websites and blogs, perpetrating all kinds of things (most not true), for generating all of the hatred. There shouldn't be any hatred towards either candidate.
All they're trying to do is do their best at presenting their case for helping America do better. This intense hatred will be our downfall as a nation, if we're not careful.
OK - it's back to my chair over in the corner.

She's a woman!! That is why people dont like her. That's why they didnt like Hillary. I think that she is pretty smart and would make a fine VP, but then again I am a woman with firm beliefs in equal rights. I dont think most people are ready for this kind of change. It sucks, but that's just how it goes sometimes.

See, that's where I disagree. I'm a woman and I like Hillary and would no no qualms whatsoever if she became President tomorrow because she is intelligent enough and intellectually curious enough to do the job. She's not too rigid and stubborn to take others' advice if need be, something I can't say about Palin just as we certainly can't say about Bush. I think more people are ready for a woman President than are ready for a Palin Presidency!

"but i see palin as only putting woman back not advancing our rights and bringing us up to par to where we should be in this day in-age"

For starters, I can't handle her Dominionism. That's very dangerous in religion. For another, she's the one who authorized and encouraged aerial shooting of wolves in Alaska.
Her views on women's issues are much more dangerous than GWB ever dreamed.

I am not an expert on Palin and her role as mayor or governor of Alaska and have only since this election known who she is but from what I have seen of her in the VP debates and what I have read of her policies and acomplishments online I am not particularly found of her and do not want her representing America. Hate is a strong word and I do not consider myself as a person who hates anyone, let alone some one I do not know personaly. I feel for myself, that I expect more from a presidential canidate in reguards to how they conduct themselves professionaly.

What isn't wrong with her LOL
I just really don't like her. I can't say I hate here because I don't know her. I do find her quite creepy. Every time she opens her mouth I feel like she is lying. She just looks guilty.
My gut feeling is if she was VP and had to be President, we would be screwed. Now I know that the Pres really don't "run the country", the House & the Senate does, but the Pres does have to sign bills and what not and I just believe she would make horrible choices.
McCain is tolerable, Obama questionable and I don't know much about Binden. If they were my only 2 choices, I wouldn't' vote that for sure.

I don't understand it either. I do not see anything wrong with her. My mom actually hates her and she does not hate anyone. I just do not understand. Hillary Clinton is a strong woman and noone hates her so why is it different with Sarah Palin?? I love her and how she has some great kids. Her decision to keep her baby and all is a driving factor in why I love her so much.

I'm actually one that likes Palin. I think she's a strong woman with strong principles and she isn't afraid to stand up to the "big boys" that tend to run the government. I'll be the first to admit that she's made a few errors in her interviews but ppl need to remember that she isn't a groomed politician like McCain, Obama or even Biden (and he makes alot of mistakes too)...she's a normal woman who has dipped into politics and now finds herself in the big pool.
I think she's done alot of good work with Alaska so far as cutting taxes, building it up and making good decisions. She also seems to be down to earth and no nonsense which doesn't sound too bad. I'm willing to give her a chance...God knows she couldn't do much worse than the other candidates and VP's have done in the past.

I don't "hate" Palin at all and I respect much of the good things that she has done. There are a couple of issues that are important to me that would cause me not to vote for McCain. One of them is her stance on abortion issues. A few other things are questionable but it's difficult getting to know her with all the mixed media reports...what's true? I think another reason why people are being so cautious with Palin as vice president as opposed to some others is due to McCain's age and health issues. They are looking at her as a possible president and not just a vice president. Beyond that...I really don't know. Still trying to figure both sides out and am still undecided on the issue.
