A rainbow is a token of an everlasting covenant between God and every living creatures of all flesh that is upon the earth, that the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. Please read Genesis 9:13-16
Seeing a rainbow still amazes me even at this age. The beauty it possess is simply unrivaled. I am awestruck just seeing one. And knowing that a rainbow signifies a covenant between man and GOD is completely fascinating.
How about you? Would you care to show how you feel when you see a rainbow?

Whenever I see a rainbow, it makes me think of science. It always makes me think of the scientific explanation behind it like wavelengths and stuff. It is fascinating, yeah. It always makes me wonder where it starts and where it ends.

Since you mentioned about science, I was wondering how would you measure it up. Rainbows don't appear long enough for you to be able to conduct a research from. Besides the height where is it located. It usually is at the highest point. I, too am interested in the scientific explanation of it. I know nothing about wavelengths but it sure is interesting to know what science could explain about rainbows. I mean the ones in the sky not the ones we can make easily. Thanks for your insight. You made me think there. God bless you!

Yeah. That's what it makes so interesting. Scientists come up with theories and these theories aren't even falsified yet. I can't remember the exact explanation but I read it from an encyclopedia for children. It's unbelievable, how people come up with explanation.
Anyway. I looked it up online. It has something to do with physics and chemistry. I remembered something about prisms, I looked that up too. There was a picture I saw online. When a prism gets hit by light, it refracts it then there are different colors formed.. I guess that is exactly or quite related to the principle behind formation of rainbows. I am not really sure anyway. :)

I find rainbows very fascinating and it always brings a smile to my face just thinking that something so beautiful could be created by nature. With all our science and technology, nature still always seems to be one step ahead of us. My most memorable rainbow was a double rainbow I saw as a kid. it was like two concentric rainbows with some space between them. I have even seen one around the moon , it was a full moon and the air might have some moisture in it, but it was very peculiar to watch.

Hey! Why are you so lucky? First a double rainbow then a circular rainbow surrounding the moon. Hmmm... Where was I looking when you see those rainbows??? lol... I haven't seen a double rainbow yet. I'd sure want to witness that someday if GOD permits. Thanks for sharing your experience. I envy you... hehehe. God bless you!!!

I am always amazed by a rainbow. I know that there isn't really a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow but it just makes me happy. A rainbow gives me hope that there are still beautiful things in life. I don't think there would be a rainbow if it's the end of the world, right?

We'll never know for sure, maybe in heaven there's lots of rainbows for us to appreciate. I agree with you, with all the things that are happening in our economy now, everything seemed hopeless but a rainbow is a sign that there are still beautiful things in life. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate you dropping by here. Happy posting. God bless you!

Like what you have said rainbow is the covenant of God to people that He cannot destroy the earth by flood. The feelings is the same. Everytime i saw the rainbow above I feel like a child of 5 years old and it is really fantastic! Thought that never to go back at my present time. Feels so happy and dont have any problem no pollutions no hungry people around and free of everything. So really wonderful feelings.

Rainbow is one of the most beautiful things that I love. Actually, rainbow is a simple nature phenomenon, scientifically proven and easy to make. But to see it in the sky, it was so much more beautiful than making one yourself. I am not a christian so that I don't really read the bible. I don't know the covenant or something but beautiful thing is a universal symbol of good things so that I believe that there is something good about the rainbow

Oh true! I think we've conducted an experiment on how rainbows appear way back in highschool. It's true that it's easy to make. But the ones in the sky, really is just amazing. I couldn't even put words into it.

A lot of people here had been saying the same thing. That when they see a rainbow, it makes them feel that there is hope every after the rain. It's good I suppose. I pray that GOD would always show us HIS rainbow that people would always not lose hope. Happy posting!

it always amaze me everytime i see the rainbow and even though there is no pot of gold in its end, i am always curious about what is in the end of it. yes, i agree with you, the rainbow signifies GOd's covent to men, that HE will never punish the earth again with great flood. we know that GOd flooded the earth to eradicate the sinners, and after that, He promised Moses and his family and his descendants that there will be no great flood anymore and God has been keeping HIs promise til now, though there are floods due to typhoon in many areas, it were not great enough to cover the whole earth.
seeing rainbow also reminds us that GOd is the greatest artist, and HIs creativity shows that He loves us, He cares for us and He is always there after every storm of our lives.
good day!

Me too! It still amazes me to see a rainbow in the sky.
I wonder where did that pot of gold story come from. Hmmm... Is it through fairy tales? I've come to know these stories from fairy tales with leprechaun guarding it.
I would have to correct you asselg1984 about moses and his family. It wasn't moses, It was noah's family who had been saved from the great flood.
Have a great day! God Bless You!

Seeing rainbows is like seeing them in spectrum of light in prism. So how do I feel when i saw a rainbow? It seems to be a rhetoric question. The rainbow signifies the end of the rain with the sun shining. I learn since grade school that "Behind The Clouds, the sun is shining." From that on, I would always say that whenever there are some problems, it will always come into pass especially when we saw the wonderful sign, that is the rainbow. That is also the same way Noah's family felt when they saw dryland after the deluge.

That is exactly what it is! A sign that GOD will never use the waters again to destroy all the flesh on earth. That's what happened in the story Noah's ark.

Hi Potrish78, I feel great when seeing the rainbow line up the each individual color. For me, rainbow is like a lucky gift. Means that after seeing that, i will full of luck then. The rainbow color that i like most is red. Because the color is so sharp and is the lead for the rest of the color. Also, this discussion remind me that previously there have a cartoon, the character is teddybear and each of them have a logo at their chest, they just spell some magic work and it and cause the bad situation resolved.

I love that cartoon show when I was a kid. I never missed even one episode. Parents can actually leave their kids watching this particular cartoon show since it promotes good morals. Thanks for posting adraintys78. Take care!

Me too! I have always been fascinated with the appearance of rainbows in the sky. And even at my age now which is 29, it still never seizes to amaze me. Rainbows still has that big effect on me. I don't know why but it really is something that I cannot explain. I couldn't help feeling elated seeing one. Although I rarely see a rainbow in the sky now. but when I do I feel like the kid in me just appeared out of nowhere.

I love everything about nature, rainbows are truly beautiful showing the glorious spectrum of colors. They always look like a bridge to somewhere. When I see one I feel happy at their beauty. It is a sign that the sun is coming out again that the clouds are going and the rain will dry up.

I love nature too! I agree that it looks like a bridge but a hanging one. Everytime I see a rainbow it always has a missing end. Like it's floating. hehehe. But remember also that it's a sign that GOD will never use the waters again to destroy all the flesh of the earth. God Bless you!

Watching a rainbow is really very interesting. Though we can't see rainbows often here because of climatic conditions. I have seen rainbow twice when i was young and have not seen any recently. But i still remember me and my sister jumped with excitement to see the rainbow as it was real clear and we could identify the distinct colors in it.... I really don't knew any significance of GOD or man related to rainbows but that the beauty is simply awesome...
Happy myLotting!!!!

Oh! Does it mean I'm lucky enough to have witnessed a rainbow while I was driving to Subic last July? I guess I am, since you said yourself that the last time you saw one was when you were still a kid. Know what, I still feel that way when I see a rainbow just like when you were kids. The excitement although I wouldn't jump for joy since it would be a little over reacting. hehehe. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

you're lucky to have a grandmother who could tell you stories like this. Well, at least your grandmother is close as to why rainbows appear in the sky. God made a rainbow for HIM to remember that HE will no longer use the waters to destroy all the flesh on earth. Isn't that amazing?

when i see a rainbow i feel i am the heroine in a fairy tale,i always imagine that it must be a fantastic world on the rainbow but we just cannot see using our eyes.
it must be the world full of attraction and amazing things,no worries,no lies and so on.no matter what we r suffering in the real world,we should forget it at that moment.
rainbow is like a miracle,i will pray for my family before the rainbow cuz i believe iam lucky to see such valuable moment...
haha,do u agree with me?

Hmmmm. I kinda like your thought about a totally new world inside a rainbow like a fairytale. Like it has its own life with fairies and stuff. I wish there really is. It would've been nice if we could both go there and be enchanted with the place. God made the rainbow, which is a covenant between GOD and man that HE will never use the waters again to destroy all the flesh of the earth. So I guess praying before a rainbow is a nice thing to do.
