I love to crochet, better said im addicted to crochet, I mostly like croceting baby stuff, I do it mostly as a hobby but I also sell my stuff. So I start this discussion with this: What crafts do you love, and is it a hobby or a job?

I don't think there is a craft that I haven't tried. I love sewing, and have turned it into a way to make money. I design and make teddy bears. I have been making them for the past 25 years and selling them for 23. I have branched out to making dog coats to sell at the local craft sales.
I just took up a new craft, needle felting. I have made three bears and will be posting the picture a little later today. I plan to start selling them on etsy. I am hoping that I can start selling more through the net rather than doing a ton of craft shows.
I knit, crochet and do photography also. I have a sweater coat in process, but have set it aside for a while because of trying to do the bears and dog coats and going to college. I really need about 50 more hours in a day to get everything done that I want to do!

I like to crochet as well and have made loads of afghans and baby blankets. I've posted quite a few of my things here in this interest area.
I'm working on one now that is using up all the smaller scraps of yarn in my stash. I've also just started a blog about crochet things and hope to post something new and interesting daily.

I love to crochet. Currently , I am crocheting for charity. I enjoy the baby items, but we also are doing larger afghans for Disaster Relief that goes for hurricanes, tornado victims, etc... A homemade touch after they have lost it all! That means more to me than selling it at this point. We are doing this as a church group and donations pay for the yarn so it is just my time and passion to help others that keeps me going.

Welcome to myLot, godforbide.
I enjoy knitting. It is purely a hobby. I am not good enough to ever sell my stuff.
I am also a potter. It has always been just a hobby but I would love to be able to make a living with my pottery.
Do you like crocheting baby stuff because of the smallness of the project or because the yarn is so much softer?

I just like baby stuff for some reason and the soft yarn doesnt hurt. Thank for the welcome.

I am trying to learn crochet right now, but it's not that easy.. lol, I like Origami type things though, and cutouts of sorts.. I suppose you could say I am a amateur at all.

I also love to crochet. I like to make everyone scarves in the winter. It's just a hobby for me, I like making hand made gifts like afghans, scarves, and hats. I don't know how to make much, but I find it very enjoyable.

its definitely both for me, a hobby must pay for itself to allow me to do it,we ave no disposable income for activities that don't at least cover their costs. So I knit for fun but sell at least half of what I make, it works for us.

I'm a knitter myself. I have on;y recently begun to really challenge myself to knit other things than hats and scarves. I also knit a lot for charity. I especially like to knit blankets for animal shelters. I find it really rewarding and the knitting itself is really quite relaxing, especially after a long day at work.

Glad to see another crafter here! I like stamping....painting...almost anything that says I made it....and I do participate in craft sales....I sell tons of handmade cards.....I used to crochet alot but cut down on some of my crafting interests. I kept my needles but haven't crocheted in a while.

I just learned how to knit about two weeks ago. I really excited to start learning how to knit other things besides scarfs. Other than knitting I sew a lot of doll clothing and I also do a lot of fashion illustration.

Hi godforbide! I make handmade jewelry and "specialize" using sea glass for some of my creations. It started out as a hobby (and collecting sea glass is also a hobby)and has now turned into a little part-time job.
I sell at shows/fairs and have an online shop also. I do love to knit as a hobby, for myself or one of my sons and I also love working with polymer clay, along with my jewelry making. Being able to sell many of my creations allows me to keep doing what I love... when I have the time.
Have a great Sunday!
