When does your dog bark?

My dog always barks whenever there is truck or big cars passing by. She will only bark at certain people, which I do not really know how she applies the judgment, perhaps she thinks someone is more suspicious. She does bark at us when she needs attention, or she wants to play with us. She doesn't bark if I'm watching any program with animals on it. I am not sure if she barks at the postman.

My dog loves to watch programs that have animals on it and he doesn’t bark. He only barks when he sense that someone is outside our house or whenever a person he don’t know enter our property. He would only stops when he was told to do so. My dog is a loud barker and sometimes it hurts my ears. Good thing he always follow us. My dog doesn’t bark at the other dog unless he is threatened or if they are playing.

i used to have a pomenarian dog and she only barks when there is a stranger comes to my house... she loves to play with people... she licks, barks and jumps at every stranger that comes to my house... my hubby used to be so scared to come to my house in the house when we are still dating because of my dog... take care and have a nice day...

My dogs bark when strangers come on our porch or when they hear strange noises. My puppy barks at other dogs alot, but I hope that stops soon because I want to be able to take him to a dog park soon without him barking at everything.

We have a box for our post just outside the door but they always hear the postman put letters in it and bark! They don't bark at the TV but do sit and watch it if animals of any kind are on it! x

our two shih tzu dogs bark when they hear annoying noises outside the house.. or when someone knocks the door and calls for our attention..

Our dog is very irritating he barks all the time, whenever someone pass by in our street he always bark! And while we are eating he barks until our maid feed him. That's the only time he stops barking. Also when he see a cat or any other dog! He barks widely and I will throw my slippers to hiim but sometimes he don't stop barking! What a dog!

My chihuahua's bed its next to an emergency staires, behind our building and everytime a person goes up or down, there we go again... thank God, when I tell her to shut up, she obbeys. If not, I wouldnt have a place to live right now, 8P Happy MyLotting and have a nice day! Xp

hey, well i don't have dogs...but during my staying in hostel, the dogs usually bark around 2 or 3 in the morning...once or twice when the girls and i were having our night gathering down in the sport yard of our hostel, it was after midnight, so, we got distracted by the barks of two dogs around 2 or 3 in the morning! hello maximax.. hmmm.. actually my dog is really different from other dog.. her name is boom-boom...i thought that she was different because she bark only at night... i think there is something wrong with her..he doesn't bark at day time even there are stranger people out there.. i feel irritated whenever she bark cause that is the only time i rest my self, then i heard her barking at night...

I have a cocker spaniel (Oreo) and a australian silky terrier(Coco). Oreo barks the most, perhaps he is a male dog. He bark early in the morning when a flight just crossed by our roof top daily with the Oooooo sounds. Always, when he does this, Coco will follow as well. It's like they are singing. Whenever the heard somebody coming to my house, both of them get excited, they barks and jumping around. I always have hard time to go to the door. Oreo always bark at dogs larger than him. It's actually very noisy around the neighborhood when I bring him for stroll at nearby garden. Coco is much more obedient in that sense. I have read some article, they said if the dog bark at the bigger dog, it's because he want to hide his fear. I don't know how true it it. :)

i have a little puppy who always bark at me whenever I'm asleep between 3a.m.-5a.m. she does this a lot especially when she's bored. she also barks a lot whenever i leave the house

my dog barks at allmost anything because hes a chicken when i go out for a smoke hes barking non stop because he wants me to come back inside.

My dogs bark when they have to take a huge dump outside or they are just bored. They also bark when they are sleeping and or bored!

My dog used to bark whenever someone knocked on the door. He usually did not stop unless we told him it is ok.

I had a dog in the past. He didn't bark often. Most of the time he kept silent. He barked when he felt a few unusual strangers passed by. Perhaps he felt that they might be bad guys. As to postman, my dog never barked it. I love China

Hi Maxine, Just as I was reading this discussion I am watching the Dog Whisperer on TV too and my puppy heard barking and immediately ran back from the TV LOL so I guess he is gonna be that way too. Up to now other than the day he discovered his bark he only barks to let me know he needs to go out. He hasn't barked at the doorbell or anything yet. Huggles. Ellie :D

my dog is a golden lab (you can see him in my profile picture), but he never barks much, sometimes if someone knocks at the door, but he thinks everyone is his friend human or animal. He's a silly soft dog haha

yeah i dog braks when he see any real dog outside my house.....but he understands that program is coming on the tv and he doesnot brak at tv....yeah to the newspaper man and to the post man he definately braks at his best!!!lol....one more thing he barks on small children too..though i don't knw whts the reason!!!!take care

I have a Toy Poodle, and he barks all the time. If a noise atrtles him, when someone is at the door, when he's trying to get my attention, or if he's doing something he shouldn't and you tell him not to, he'll bark then. He barks a lot, sometimes he will not stop. Like all week, they have been repairing the roof here, so you could hear the men walking and working on it. He would not stop barking. It was so annoying, and he was really getting on my nerves. I could tell him to stop, but it didn't make a difference.
